The sandy loam soil is prefect for our horses and cattle and we are only 30 miles from the hustle and bustle of the Big D.Learn more about this land:We are a working ranch with cattle, horses, chickens, goats, pigs, llamas and more. We offer guided trail rides with our Curly Mustangs who are gentle and calm through the flora and fauna filled forest and pasture for an additional cost if you are up for a real ranch experience. Please contact us in advance for the availability of trail rides. Spend the day fishing, play a few games of horseshoes and enjoy watching our gentle critters as they munch away. As evening sets, pitch a tent and feel free to relax by a fire as you view some of the most beautiful stars of the big sky of the Lone Star State. We have private hot showers and restroom accommodations in our sixteen stall barn. Horse boarding available for an additional fee. While we are only 30 miles from Dallas, you will feel the quiet beauty of country living at Golden Curls Ranch.

I'm not in the middle of nowhere, but my neighbors all have at least 3-5 acres.  It's always quiet out here, except for the birds and occasional coyote in the distance.  I have what Hipcamp calls a flexible cancellation policy.  Simply cancel on the site 24 hours prior to your check in for a full refund.

5 acres of woods and it is very private and secluded but in the suburbs. You definitely feel like you are much further awayLearn more about this land:Total privacy surrounding by pine trees. You can walk or bike through 7 acres of  forest trails. You can use ATV to ride through the woods. Have a party and enjoy the fresh air and not to far from Dallas TX. You will feel like you are 1000 miles way. Relax enjoy and experience country settings. Per person cost is $100 1 guest allowed. If your party is more than 20 please let me know for discounts. Very pleasant atmosphere!!!

Sterling Oak Ranch

My Great Grandfather bought this land in 1945 for his cattle ranch. Through the years most of it was sold. Today we have a little slice of heaven, we call home. Our off grid and green homestead is a work in progress. Come enjoy what God has created.

Step away from the hustle and bustle of city life back to a quiet ranch setting. Set on a beautiful working cattle ranch surrounded by hills, this camping area gives you the peace and serenity you are looking for. Spend the days exploring the ranch, playing in the seasonal creek, fishing in the stock tank, or feeding the wild cows. Then, spend the nights looking up at the stars, sitting by the campfire and enjoying the night time sounds of the wild. When you need time away from the ranch, visit nearby Cleburne State Park, Dinosaur Valley State Park, the Brazos river, historic Glen Rose, or enjoy a Cleburne Railroaders baseball game. 

Although there is plenty of room for all campers at the Dusty Nickel, we want to leave room for our grass fed cows to roam too, so we are limiting it to 4 camping spots per night. There isn't electric, sewer or water at the sites, however, water is available near the house to refill tanks etc. The owner does live on site, but will respect your privacy and you can be out of the direct sight of the house depending where you camp.
