Our goals are to establish a thriving community, grow most of our own food, build tiny houses to rent or sell, create sustainability and be as self sufficient as possible, salvage material for builds, host events and retreats, teach classes, and more. Our property is a densely forested 85 acres with a walk-able 2 miles around the perimeter of the property and many trails and hidden nooks to explore throughout the heart of this beautiful escape back to our natural roots. We are in the process of mapping out the trails- which we plan to make available soon! For now those of you with a sense of adventure and desire to explore will certainly be satisfied. We have a full acre size pond and a kayak that you can feel free to use. There is a communal area around the pond that we will be adding to in the near future- you may run into some of our community members or other campers there from time to time, we invite you to socialize, bring a chair, perhaps a beverage or snack and get to know each other and us as well if we cross paths! You will observe and encounter wildlife in abundance including a variety of birds, wild hogs, opossums, armadillo, moles, spiders, scorpions, butterflies, praying mantis, walking sticks, snakes- keep an eye out for rattlesnakes and copperheads, deer, many insects, and more. Please be cautious and treat these creatures' home with respect for them as well as yourselves. Our property is also home to some lovely cows, chickens, a few dogs, and several cats- they (other than the cows who do what they please) generally remain in areas away from our camp sites though they may still decide to stop by to say hello! We have many spaces available for camping throughout the property. These are primitive campsites on raw land so you will need to provide your own tent, water, food, and operate with a leave no trace mentality when camping here. There are areas that can accommodate large groups of campers as well as very secluded nooks if you are looking for a private retreat into nature. There is plenty of fallen wood available for firewood and a fire pit will be prepared for you before arrival!

Situated on the side of my house, the site is 95' long. 38' of which is along my house. The width between the house and fence is 18 feet. This should fit any RV with 2 slides and awning being open. The entire lot is fenced in, granting guests(and pets) full use of the pool and yard. Enjoy privacy with no neighbors in the back and an 8' side fence where your RV will be parked. The lot is a city sized lot, less than 1/5 acre, but HipCamp won't let me put in less than 1 acre. Pictures show my white/red retro RV as well as other RV's and how they have fit with and without my RV. Backing in is best for trailers - motorhomes/vans can go forward or back in. You may find maneuvering backwards a bit challenging due to the angle from the street through the front gate and my house overhang. It can be done...it just may take a village! :o) There's plenty of room to tandem park a towed vehicle in front of your RV(fenced in too!), and both 50amp and 30amp electric hookups are located on the back side of my house near the water hookup. (NOTE: Hipcamp will not let me notate in the fields that I have a 50amp AND a 30amp, thus I have 2 sites listed. I have had 2 RV guests stay at same time, but will not book that unless I get the ok from all parties.) LIVE sewer hookup isn't available because my clean-out is in the front of the house. Dumping can be done on the way in/out or with a portable tank.. Nestled in a charming, gentrifying neighborhood, expect the pleasant hum of city sounds (not overly loud) and glimpses of starlit skies. There is well water on the upper part of the property as well. No fires are permitted up top. Enjoy the views up top and the amenities down below. Set up your camp wherever works best for you! Private, peaceful and secluded. We purchased the 5.3 acres as a forest back in 2007. We cut down a little bit of the forest to build our house. Native Americans once lived here. Sometimes you can find arrowheads. Some of the forest burned down in the great Bastrop wildfire in 2011, but it has grown back. Mobile phones work well here. Strong signal. Learn more about this land: Lost Pines Camping is located on a gravel dead-end road. We are in a pine forest with some oaks and have a two-acre lake on the property that is good for swimming. Bastrop and Buescher State Parks are nearby and easy to access through back roads. Blackberries can be picked for a month or so in springtime. Downtown Bastrop and Downtown Smithville are both a ten-minute drive away. The bathroom is a 2 minute walk from the tent site. With a surveyor's wheel it is 334 feet walk through the forest.

Come and stay at our four acre riverfront property right on the Guadalupe! Half of the property is at higher elevation, with a nice sunset vista and breezy camping spots. Parking is also located up here. A short walk down a gated ravine takes you to the lower-leveled riverfront part of the property. This area offers 1-2 camping spots on a wooden deck, and 2-3 camping spots on the rock/concrete pavilion overlooking the fire pit and benches. The riverfront amenities include a gas grill, a cooler, a fire pit (firewood included but always subject to a burn ban), and well water for a hose shower (not for drinking). There is well water on the upper part of the property as well. No fires are permitted up top. Enjoy the views up top and the amenities down below. Set up your camp wherever works best for you! Note: There is no electricity or bathrooms on the property. Please pack out what you pack in. We rent the entire property to one person/reservation at a time. Up to 10 people on the property allowed or $25 per extra person. Cast a line in the Guadalupe and enjoy the bass and catfish fishing — If you're interested in a fishing guide for a 2-3 hour morning run, the cost is $250.00. Slip on in...enjoy Austin...come to your home away from home! There's no "real" grass on the property. However, the gates in the back can be unlocked to enjoy a long and wide green space. Very large park and the river is less than a mile.

We really enjoyed our stay! Just a few notes for future guests: the yurts are located in the owners’ backyard, so there isn’t a ton of privacy, and the bathroom doors don’t fully close since they don’t lock. The property has lots of fun animals, which adds to the charm, though a few did get out during our visit (a chicken, the dog, and even the pig) — a little stressful since we had our own dogs with us, but admittedly, waking up to a rogue pig was pretty thrilling. Last note, the heater in yurt 4 doesn’t work. 7/10

Craig was a fantastic host, and his assistant Matt was so kind and helpful! We really enjoyed the property, it was breathtaking with all the pine trees around! The fact that my dog was allowed to roam and explore really took the stress of keeping her leashed off me so I could finally relax as well….probably the best thing about the trip! The private bathroom and shower were also a plus! 10 out of 10! Thanks Craig and Matt!

I really enjoyed my stay on Sara's land. There's a road along the campground with intermittent traffic, but despite that, it was quiet and peaceful, even more so at night- exactly what I was looking for. The seating/picnic area next to my campsite was clean and inviting. Deer walked through the campground, which was lovely to see! Sara is a courteous host. I look forward to my next stay.

My husband and I camped here for the weekend and loved it. The site felt private but not too far from the main house should an emergency arise. We walked the property down to the Colorado river and it was a beautiful little hike. The site is close enough to Austin that we spent sometime exploring the city as well. Giovanny was an excellent host! Oh ALSO we were blessed to have a sweet orange cat hang with us in the evenings, we called him Chico and was a pleasant surprise additional guest. Will definitely stay again!

Absolutely everything is what you would expect. This was an oasis hidden in an unexpected place. I came for solitude and a menu for each meal, just to toss is out of the window and explored the eateries within distance (thanks Tamara!). Weekend Trip to East Austin City RV Spot near River

We had an absolute blast staying at Lucy’s RV spot in East Austin! From the moment we arrived, she made us feel right at home. The site was level, fairly easy to back into, and had everything we needed—electricity, water, a spot to dump, privacy, and plenty of room to relax after exploring the city. Lucy was incredibly kind, welcoming, and quick to help with anything we needed. Her dog Toby was the sweetest — he made our stay even more special with his friendly personality and daily visits! The location couldn’t be better: so close to downtown Austin. Having access to the pool and green space was a huge plus, and it made the stay feel like a mini vacation instead of just an RV stop. If you’re looking for a quiet, well-kept RV spot near the heart of Austin, this is the one! Thanks again to Lucy (and Toby!) for being such amazing hosts — we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.
