Welcome to our little piece of paradise! 55 acres of woods hidden near town. A network of trails criss-cross the creek and wind throughout the property
under a peaceful canopy of large beautiful trees. Don't be surprised if you run into deer, squirrels, or roadrunners! Our property is home to a wide variety of hill-country wildlife.
- Each of our campsites are private and surrounded by forest.
- Each site has a fire ring for campfires
- Our trees are our most precious natural resource and set this campground apart! Please don't do anything to harm them.
- Port-o-john is available on site.
- All of our campsites are primitive. No electric or water here.
- When you camp with us you are welcome to explore and play on the entire property! We have 55 acres of trails and woods to explore! Please bring your bikes, trail shoes, or whatever helps you have fun in the wild!
- Hammocks welcome!
We have so many trees! All of our sites are hammock-friendly.
- When you check-in, just text us, your host will help you find your campsite.
- Some sites are drive-in where your vehicle can park right next to the fire. Others are walk-in and require a short hike of 100' or less from your parking space. You can indicate your preference during booking or at check-in.
If you want to drive right into your site,
Campsites 2, 3, 6, and 12 are the sites you want.
Some of our campsites are more secluded than others and offer extreme privacy in the most beautiful settings we have to offer. If you're looking for a wilder campsite surrounded by huge old trees and all the peace the woods have to offer, just request Campsites 4, 5, 7, or 8. Each of these sites requires a walk of at least 50' from your vehicle to the fire ring.
Site 13 is only for backpackers or people willing to hike about 500 yards to the campsite over rough terrain. There is no way to drive to it or even get close except on foot. But it is spectacular and beautiful!
Only three sites can accommodate a smaller trailer or camper. Site 1, Site 2, and site 6. Please notify me in your booking if you intend to bring a camper and I can accommodate you.
We practice leave-no-trace as much as possible. So please pack out anything you pack in. You are responsible for removing all trash. If any garbage is left behind in your site you will be billed for the cleanup. We have a dumpster located near the front gate. Please use it and put all your trash in there.
Heads-up! We have a small farm on the property.
Dogs are always welcome and we LOVE our furry friends! For their safety and the safety of our livestock please keep them leashed while on property.

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers.
The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so.
Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds.
Campfires are permitted.
There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one.
Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently

We’re currently in the building/restoring process, but we’ll have some electrical, drinking water, fire pits, plenty of shade, compost toilets, water in the river, and plenty of good vibes.
Old Herrera Ranch has been in our family since the early 1800's and holds a lot history. A couple of our old buildings, the "jacals", are dated from around the 1830-40's. You'll also see the old "Dance Hall" which is great for hanging out or even some cover if it rains. They say that Santa Anna's army, invading from Mexico, may have crossed through our area on their way to the Alamo. This may be because our part of the river includes some of the more shallow areas of the Medina River. We love camping so much we decided to make our own Glamping experience in our backyard!
The rental includes your yurt, but you get to use the common space!! In total we have 4 bell tents. Two tents have one queen bed and two have two queen beds. We provide two air mattresses to sleep total 16!! There are AC units in each of the tents to keep cool at night.
Our common areas include 2 showers, 2 toilets, 1 extra large sink area connected to the bathrooms, 1 grills and 4 large picnic tables, a bar and coffee station, a fire pit, hammocks and swings.
This space is perfect for any family celebration, reunion, birthday party, ect! It is tucked away at the bottom of the property so you get the space to yourself.

When you arrive at our house you will park in our circle driveway and walk through the double green gates down the hill to the glampsite. (To the left past the house) The road is slippery/steep so please use the steps. Backpack recommended for easier up and down! You can roll a cooler down the (steep) road!
Other things to note
Each of the four bell tents are equipped with an AC unit, beds, heater, pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, electrical outlets, twinkle lights, and a lantern.
Light switch to main Edison lights are located on the side table near hot tub outlets.

The owner took the cows away after the sale, but he left us with beautiful Mesquite and Spanish Oak and endless possibilities....We want to share this beauty with our guests. Because there are burr grass here and mesquite thorns, we built decks for some of our Glamping Tents. 20 miles away you have Choke Canyon State Park. You might think fishing and boating rule at this Texas state park. You'd be right. Cast your line from the shore or a boat to catch largemouth bass and catfish.
Pick from hundreds of secluded inlets or coves to find your perfect fishing spot. Return to your campsite at sunset to prepare a meal from your "Catch of the Day".
Be aware that fish aren't the only creatures in the water. This lake marks the farthest west that American alligators live in their natural habitat. Don't worry too much, because alligators usually avoid humans and stay away from boats.
Pack your binoculars, because birding is popular here. Head to the South Shore unit for special birdwatching trails that wind around the park. Listen for bird calls as they talk to each other or to you. Songbirds and migratory birds make homes near the reservoir.

We have so many trees! All of our sites are hammock-friendly.

- Some sites are drive-in where your vehicle can park right next to the fire. Others are walk-in and require a short hike of 100' or less from your parking space. You can indicate your preference during booking or at check-in.
If you want to drive right into your site,
Campsites 2, 3, 6, and 12 are the sites you want.
Some of our campsites are more secluded than others and offer extreme privacy in the most beautiful settings we have to offer. If you're looking for a wilder campsite surrounded by huge old trees and all the peace the woods have to offer, just request Campsites 4, 5, 7, or 8. Each of these sites requires a walk of at least 50' from your vehicle to the fire ring.
Site 13 is only for backpackers or people willing to hike about 500 yards to the campsite over rough terrain. There is no way to drive to it or even get close except on foot. But it is spectacular and beautiful!
Only three sites can accommodate a smaller trailer or camper. Site 1, Site 2, and site 6. Please notify me in your booking if you intend to bring a camper and I can accommodate you.
We practice leave-no-trace as much as possible. So please pack out anything you pack in. You are responsible for removing all trash. If any garbage is left behind in your site you will be billed for the cleanup. We have a dumpster located near the front gate. Please use it and put all your trash in there.
Heads-up! We have a small farm on the property.
Dogs are always welcome and we LOVE our furry friends! For their safety and the safety of our livestock please keep them leashed while on property.

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers.
The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so.
Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds.
Campfires are permitted.
There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one.
Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently

Old Herrera Ranch has been in our family since the early 1800's and holds a lot history. A couple of our old buildings, the "jacals", are dated from around the 1830-40's. You'll also see the old "Dance Hall" which is great for hanging out or even some cover if it rains. They say that Santa Anna's army, invading from Mexico, may have crossed through our area on their way to the Alamo. This may be because our part of the river includes some of the more shallow areas of the Medina River. We love camping so much we decided to make our own Glamping experience in our backyard!
The rental includes your yurt, but you get to use the common space!! In total we have 4 bell tents. Two tents have one queen bed and two have two queen beds. We provide two air mattresses to sleep total 16!! There are AC units in each of the tents to keep cool at night.
Our common areas include 2 showers, 2 toilets, 1 extra large sink area connected to the bathrooms, 1 grills and 4 large picnic tables, a bar and coffee station, a fire pit, hammocks and swings.
This space is perfect for any family celebration, reunion, birthday party, ect! It is tucked away at the bottom of the property so you get the space to yourself.

When you arrive at our house you will park in our circle driveway and walk through the double green gates down the hill to the glampsite. (To the left past the house) The road is slippery/steep so please use the steps. Backpack recommended for easier up and down! You can roll a cooler down the (steep) road!

Each of the four bell tents are equipped with an AC unit, beds, heater, pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, electrical outlets, twinkle lights, and a lantern.

20 miles away you have Choke Canyon State Park. You might think fishing and boating rule at this Texas state park. You'd be right. Cast your line from the shore or a boat to catch largemouth bass and catfish.

Be aware that fish aren't the only creatures in the water. This lake marks the farthest west that American alligators live in their natural habitat. Don't worry too much, because alligators usually avoid humans and stay away from boats.
Pack your binoculars, because birding is popular here. Head to the South Shore unit for special birdwatching trails that wind around the park. Listen for bird calls as they talk to each other or to you. Songbirds and migratory birds make homes near the reservoir.

Private Camping on over 12.98 Acres. We can provide Tents for either Semi-Primitive camping or Tent Glamping. A Host Tent on a deck is available for the Guest that makes the Group Reservation and that Guest will be responsible for all other camp guests. We provide a Comfort Cabin, with City Water/Electricity and access to Bathroom w/Shower, Sink, Toilet and Hot Water Heater, Kitchen with Microwave Oven, Fridge, Hot/Cold water/Ice Dispenser, Griddles, Firepits, BBQ Pits, Some Utensils and More. Group Minimums are 10 Campers with 2 night Min stay.

Primitive camping in spot 1 was wonderful! Spot came with a fire pit, grill, trash cans, chairs, access to flush toiled and shower (open air shower), and a host who answerd lots of questions promptly!

Came here to test some new gear! Loved the privacy of the campsite. Communication was very easy, as well as locating the site. Explored the trails a little on bike and relaxed by the fire in a hammock! will come back for future weekend getaways!

John was amazing! Me and my fiancé went camping a few days ago. He was incredibly nice and made it perfect for us. He had plenty of firewood, and is land and location is beautiful. This is a place that we will definitely be returning to, and you should definitely take a few days off and visit.

We had a great stay! Billy was a great host. He met us at the front of the property and drove us down to our spot. He even upgraded us as it was our first time using Hipcamp. The camp sites are very spaced out, so you feel like you have the whole area to yourself. Recommend bringing a camping toilet. We will definitely be going back!

I just love everything about this location. The ease of booking, the calm campers, fire pits and the primitive location. Nestled between neighborhoods yet close to everything-- Doordash even delivers to the gate. With a dumpster and Port O John, it's the perfect location.

My son and I had a great time camping here! John and Nugget were wonderful hosts - very friendly, welcoming and helpful. John helped guide us to a spot that had enough vertical clearance for our RTT and helped us get our “camp kitchen” setup. It’s a beautiful property - we didn’t get to explore as much as we would have liked because it rained but we will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay! Just a few notes for future guests: the yurts are located in the owners’ backyard, so there isn’t a ton of privacy, and the bathroom doors don’t fully close since they don’t lock. The property has lots of fun animals, which adds to the charm, though a few did get out during our visit (a chicken, the dog, and even the pig) — a little stressful since we had our own dogs with us, but admittedly, waking up to a rogue pig was pretty thrilling. Last note, the heater in yurt 4 doesn’t work.

My family and I had an amazing stay! Secluded and super large area for us alone, with a wonderful view on the hill country. Waking up to the view was an awesome experience!!
It was very quiet and yet all amenities for our camper (50A power, water, sewer…). My kids were able to run around, and enjoyed seeing the cattle on site, as well as deers that passed by.

Great experience. First time camping out doors with the family, not very far out and really accessible. We had called the owner and he quickly answered, definitely giving it a 5 star review. Only thing that would make it better, is haveing a little better directions to the camp sites, other than that, we will definitely be going back soon

We camped in Site 5 with the family, great little spot with an immersive forest feel only a short walk away from the parking spot. Table, chairs, and a bench were provided with the fire pit and grill! We all loved the cozy spot and would definably recommend. Only gripe is navigation was a tad challenging, additional signage may help. But will surely be looking on going back. Oh, and wild that is so close to civilization!
