Leann's land is in a remote, beautiful part of Hill Country --we were the only people camping on the property so it was extra quiet and peaceful. My 9 year old roamed the property with his trusty map and felt like a true explorer. The campground is close to Garner State Park and about a half hour from Lost Maples.

This ranch is in an absolutely beautiful location. We visited over the Halloween weekend with the native fall grasses in full beauty. At night we sat, had some wine, looked at the stars, counted satellites as they passed over and listened to the coyotes off in the distance. This is a great location to slow down and just get away.

Carlos was an exceptional Host, I recommend getting In touch with him before booking because their live site doesn’t sync with hip camp so you run the risk of their not being availability. With that being said I reached Carlos before booking and he accommodated me last minute and was extremely attentive and helpful throughout the stay. Not to mention the included river access was a huge benefit and we enjoyed every minute of our stay!!

Let me just say this place is awesome! Carlos is an amazing host of the campgrounds and is very welcoming from beginning to end. Me and my cousin decided to stay here as a last minute trip and we didn’t regret it. We had a beautiful campsite, electricity, the showers/restroom are nice and well maintained. There is a patio area connected to the office that has games like corn hole and connect 4. He has a tv and we all watched the Astros game. The WiFi works pretty good too! Overall we had everything we needed and if you are missing anything , Carlos just might have it and will not hesitate to let you borrow something or use his amenities to make your trip that much better. I would recommend this place 1000 times thank you Carlos !

We just got back from camping at the rio frio, and I honestly can’t stop thinking about how peaceful and beautiful everything was. The property is incredibly well-maintained—everything felt clean, cared for, and intentionally laid out. Each campsite felt secluded enough to have your own space, which made it feel like a true escape for healing.
The host, Carlos, was amazing. Their kindness, attention to detail, and welcoming energy made the whole experience 10 times better. It genuinely felt like a safe and inclusive space to just rest. Already dreaming of our next trip

We had a great weekend at Rio Frio RV! Carlos was an amazing host and the best camp host I've ever experienced. Super friendly and accommodating, Carlos moved a picnic table to our site for us to use and even offered an extra extension cord if we needed it. The property is vast and relatively quiet with has loads of wildlife! We had deer, rabbits, squirrels and more.... a birder's delight - hummingbirds, cardinals, doves, chickadees, woodpeckers, black-crested titmouse, and even a hawk with a nest above our site.
Having direct river access for fishing or floating, and being literally 5 minutes from Garner SP were huge draws for us and offered the perfect reprieve from the crowds at Garner.
Will definitely be back, especially with the plans Carlos has to make the site even better than it already is.

I had a great relaxing time. There was access to the Frio River. I arrived early enough to enjoy the river. It’s some of the clearest water I’ve ever seen. Beautiful nature views. I saw one deer across the river. This is one of those places that you return year after year. That’s my plan anyway. The host had a nice friendly attitude and was very helpful. I would absolutely recommend this place.

This was such a beautiful place to stay and Carlos was an amazing host. He greeted us when we arrived and was very attentive to anything we needed. If you love being outdoors and by the river, this is definitely the place to stay. We will be back!

This place is the best site I have been to yet! Quiet and serene; beautiful natural surroundings. Fall asleep to the sounds of the babbling Frio River. Carlos is very kind, accommodating your every need! There is RV sites, and a very private primitive camp area. (my recommendation). As a solo female camper, I felt safe and looked after. This is an awesome hidden gem!

My family and I loved the beauty and privacy of Daryl’s land. The hospitality was great, Jonathan provided fantastic support during our check in. We used a large inflatable hot tent with wood stove that made the camping very cozy, the landscape was gorgeous. The access to the river is easy and surrounded by trees and wildlife. The fact of the dog could stay off leash was also very good. I certainly recommend and have plans to come back.
