This was a relaxing and enjoyable stay! The staff was friendly and laid-back, which made the experience even better. I had no trouble reversing my 27-foot travel trailer into the site—very convenient. It was the perfect place to unwind and disconnect. We made use of the pool and even played a few games of pickleball. The Wi-Fi was a great bonus and worked well for streaming movies. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

Beautiful area close to tubing rivers, New Braunfels and Gruene . The Swimming hole was the highlight for us ! Great camping spot ! The hosts were great , making sure our stay went well. Felt very safe as the property is gated. Surprisingly very little bugs/mosquitos in area where we camped

Really nice campsite. Clean and easy accessibility to the river. The river crossing was closed and there was no mention of that during booking. It was a bit concerning when we reached the passing and had no cell signal. We had to walk in the river and realize it was ankle deep and passed along side the closed bridge with the car and drove through the river water. Would recommend. Lots of fun and nice to relax in the river.

If you’re looking to visit San Antonio or to just relax this is a great place to stay! We stayed here for a few days in the rv and it was great. We had our 4 dogs and the views from where you park the RV was beautiful! We came in the dark and it was difficult to find the area but during the day it’s easy to maneuver. A very safe area and we felt safe the entire time. There’s a private swimming area ( was beautiful and fun for the dogs) cows are just by the swimming area. Such a beautiful place to camp at. We went to Guadalupe river ( a MUST see) if you want a days of swimming with the dogs or kids! Would return!

Weekend Trip to Secluded, great hill country views

We stayed at Hill Country Views on Farm #1 from May 2nd to May 4th and loved the peaceful, scenic setting. Even though we got hit with heavy rain the first night, the gravel road and well-maintained site made things manageable, and the ground dried up quickly around the road. The view is incredible, and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. We camped in an Aliner Evolution 15 travel trailer and had easy access to electric and water hookups, with clean bathrooms just a short walk away. The host was friendly but gave us plenty of space, which we appreciated. I’d recommend this spot to anyone.. tent campers, RVers, or overlanders with rooftop tents will all feel right at home here.

Pretty nice place close to stores so if its your first time camping this would be a great place. Goats were interesting to see and overall trails were nice. Campsite 3 was perfect to drive into without any issues.

Great spot for our camping needs! Able to back right in to the spot and view the campfire from my truck bed tent. A little pricey for basically no amenities but overall a great site for or needs. You can hear the traffic nonstop but what do you expect from a campsite so close to the city. We will definitely return in the future.

Not much to say, we pulled in late and left early. Probably could have parked on the side of the road, but I hate getting woken up and having to move. James the host was responsive and helpful. The place looked pretty killer for a nice getaway. It's not a typical campground, it's private land with outhouses and sites with firepits. Very reminiscent of a Baja situation. Host says he locks the gate at night but I couldn't confirm. Overall I'd recommend

We stayed twice this season so far and it's honestly a fast favorite! We have a small 16' teardrop that fits perfectly for use at sites 1, 2, 3, 6, & 8. Our 1st trip was with some friends, their kids and our dogs at sites 6, 7, & 8 at the recommendation of the owner. Perfect to sit at the shaded campfire space @ 8 with space for everyone's tent! The 2nd trip was for a family birthday camping with some dogs as well @ site 1 - which was adjusted to site 2 to be further from the entrance road. James is always very responsive and easy to communicate with for anything! Notes for potential campers: - IT IS JUST THE WOODS...in the suburbs. There is the convenience of access to stores if you forgot something but once you are on site, there is 1 port-a-potty (cleaned 1/wk?) that is within a 5-10 minute walk from any site. No water connections & no electricity. Great "tester" for introducing people to camping b/c of the safety net of being so close to civilization. - Most sites VERY well shaded. If you are in site 1 or 2 I recommend bringing a canopy because the sites are cleared pretty well. - Road is very accessible but it is a dirt/rock road. More uneven and larger rock than gravel. - Sites 4-8 have the least road noise, with the lowest road noise being at 8. - Carpool for groups as much as possible. Parking (except at 1, 3, or 8) limited. - 8+ppl tents: Sites 1-4 & 8 have space for at least 2 tents; site 6 (maybe 5?) for 1 tent; sites 5 & 7 poss. but tight - Very walkable!

Our group really enjoyed our experience at the Lost Woods Campground. We stayed at site 6 which was super convenient for us since it allowed us to back our vehicle right up to the camp spot.

Lost Woods seemed far away from the city but in actuality you could run to a store to pick up something you forgot in 10 mins. Sites were far enough away from each other that you felt like you were the only one out there for miles! It was great and my best friend and I loved it there!! We did visit during a burn ban due to the winds and couldn't have a campfire but that was ok. It was so relaxing and we had camp stoves so we just heated up food that way and sat around and talked and listened to music ... 3 days of relaxation.. doesn't get better than that! I did read reviews about road noise... Yes there is a little bit during the day but nothing major... We actually didn't even notice it. Just a reminder as we saw some campers unprepared, even though it's stated through out their website,... Bring water .. For hand washing, drinking, bathing, Coffee... Etc. We had a portable shower, potty and a portable stove with a coffee pot.... And we filled our empty gallon water containers with faucet water from our house and used that for washing, etc... Just bought a couple gallons for drinking.....we could have stayed out there for a month ..... Lol. Just be prepared.... It's just the woods.... And awesome! Thank you James for a wonderful 3 days!!! We will definitely visit again!!

Just spent this weekend out at Chris's spot. As much as i'd like to keep this spot a secret, i definitely want others to experience how awesome this place is. Chris and crew were very welcoming and the site is absolutely incredible. If you like to fish, you would love this spot. If you don't you would still love this spot. Very quiet and very clean. I'll definitely be booking this spot again in the future.

Native Bee Haven

Eight acres of semi-kept hillcountry just outside Boerne, TX. Our land offers a good mix of native and non-native trees with plenty of open spaces for the night sky. Many level areas for dry tent camping with good views, especially sunsets. Optional tent spots offer semi seclusion. This is "dry" camping, there aren't bathrooms on site. We do have an outdoor shower that is well water temperature. One RV spot is available with water/electrical hook up. No black water dump available. Boerne is about a mile and a half away. The closest gas station is less than a mile. Boerne has a 24 hour Planet Fitness with hot water showers. Many restaurant options nearby. Three miles from Boerne Lake. Historic Luckenbach and Fredericksburg Wineries are about a half hour away. Our land is inhabited by two sweet and lively dogs. They will say hi and periodically check in but will otherwise leave you alone. We also have active bee hives on the property, but the bees are usually too busy to bother anyone.

Rio Frio is 10 minutes south of Leakey and 10 minutes north of Concan away from lights and lots of noise. We embrace the Dark Sky pledge for stargazers seeking to enjoy the night sky, the Leave It Better pledge, ask that you Don't Mess with Texas, and ask that you treat others as you want to be treated. We have firewood available at discounted rates for larger bundles than stores. We please ask that you respect all wildlife as we are in process of becoming a monarch sanctuary. The Hitchman Homestead is a working Homestead, workshop, farm and coffee roastery. Located in the Upper Turtle Creek Area of the Texas Hill Country - we are about 7 miles south of Kerrville in a scenic Wooded area near the Creek. Rockstack camp has a view of the surrounding Rock-Walls and native wildflowers. The two RV sites in our private 'Rockstack Camp' are available for vacationers or longer-term stays. Guests have access to our Covered Wagon Picnic area, Restroom & Laundry Facilities. You are welcome to interact with our Chickens & Turkeys. Ask for guided tours to the garden, greenhouse, range, coffee roastery or workshop. We have a rustic B&B meals service available for a fee. Guests may also purchase Fresh Farm eggs, Coffee, seasonal produce or Fresh Home Baked goods. There is public access to Turtle creek nearby (walking distance) at the local 'Swimming Hole'. Please be respectful of parking & pack your trash if you choose to visit the creek. The Hitchman Homestead is a working farm - so guests can expect to hear Chickens, Roosters & Turkeys. There will be noise from the workshop during working hours 8am - 7pm most days. We host a public open house known as 'My Sunday Drive' for visitors to our farm on the First Sunday of each month. Animals: Chickens, Turkeys & dogs. The dogs are friendly and contained. There are also several barn cats on-property. There are friendly goats across the street. We have a large herd of Axis deer that visit frequently, along with Rabbits, Squirrel, Fox and a variety of wild birds. We also have two (currently unoccupied) beehives. It is not unusual to encounter bees or butterflies foraging in-season.
