1 night at Down Horn Ranch

Don’s place was serene. Lots of privacy, nice designated tent spots that felt very taken care of, while still keeping a sense of camping out in the natural space of that area. All the amenities you need and communicative as well.

Weekend Trip to Down Horn Ranch

Had a great short tent camping trip at Downhorn Ranch! The sites were nice and private, really appreciated having a bathroom complete with shower, and observing the curious Longhorns made for extra entertainment. The host was quick to respond with any questions we had and we would absolutely come back for more nights under the stars.

Weekend Trip to Secluded, great hill country views

We stayed at Hill Country Views on Farm #1 from May 2nd to May 4th and loved the peaceful, scenic setting. Even though we got hit with heavy rain the first night, the gravel road and well-maintained site made things manageable, and the ground dried up quickly around the road. The view is incredible, and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. We camped in an Aliner Evolution 15 travel trailer and had easy access to electric and water hookups, with clean bathrooms just a short walk away. The host was friendly but gave us plenty of space, which we appreciated. I’d recommend this spot to anyone.. tent campers, RVers, or overlanders with rooftop tents will all feel right at home here.

Weekend Trip to Terraqueous RV Resort

We booked last minute and the hosts were very accommodating. The property was amazing and well kept up. This is a great place for family’s with and without kids alike. There are plenty of amenities from a catch and release pond, a giant sandpit, playgrounds, swimming pool, huge splashed, and an adult only pool and bar.

You can see the stars because it’s dark enough out there and no traffic noise, along with it being reasonably priced. We enjoyed it.

Weekend Trip to Ranch 3232

3232 is a good spot to land after a day at Pedernales State Park -- only ten minutes from this campground. My son and small dog stayed at the Comanche Glamping Tent and were comfortable and had a good time. I initially worried that we were too close to the road as it's one of the first sites in the campground, but it got very quiet at night so that wasn't an issue. This tent is right beside the bathrooms, kitchen and communal fire pit area. This was convenient, and there were some campers who stayed there past the designated quiet hour of 10pm, but it wasn't an issue for us.

Weekend Trip to Brown Chicken Brown Cow Ranch

Michelle and her husband were fabulous hosts. They love sharing their beautiful land and hanging out with their three longhorns was entertaining. We felt welcomed, and encouraged to explore. We walked around their property twice a day enjoying the views and peacefulness. We took our hammocks and simply enjoyed “hanging” out and reading. We enjoyed the photo ops and visiting the surrounding area. Their place was immaculate and they are constantly doing more.

We loved our trip to Fishers of Men! Kaz and Bill were so welcoming and helpful. The site we got for our 22 ft RV was a great size and had full hook ups. Close to Marble Falls so if you forget something, which I always do, you can easily go pick it up in town. Would recommend this ranch for camping.

Situated on the side of my house, the site is 95' long. 38' of which is along my house. The width between the house and fence is 18 feet. This should fit any RV with 2 slides being open. As of March 2025, I have my RV parked in back. It still leaves 60+ feet for YOU! Your RV will overlap alongside the house; unless you prefer to be in the back, then we can discuss moving my RV. The entire lot is fenced in, granting guests(and pets) full use of the pool and yard. Enjoy privacy with no neighbors in the back and an 8' side fence where your RV will be parked. The lot is a city sized lot, less than 1/5 acre, but HipCamp won't let me put in less than 1 acre. Pictures show my white/red retro RV as well as other RV's and how they have fit with and without my RV. Backing in is best. You may find maneuvering backwards a bit challenging due to the angle from the street through the front gate and my house overhang. It can be done...it just may take a village! :o) There's plenty of room to tandem park a towed vehicle in front of your RV(fenced in too!), and both 50amp and 30amp electric hookups are located on the back side of my house near the water hookup. (NOTE: Hipcamp will not let me notate in the fields that I have a 50amp AND a 30amp, thus I have 2 sites listed. I have had 2 RV guests stay at same time, but will not book that unless I get the ok from all parties.) LIVE sewer hookup isn't available because my clean-out is in the front of the house. Dumping can be done on the way out or with a portable tank. Nestled in a charming, gentrifying neighborhood, expect the pleasant hum of city sounds (not overly loud) and glimpses of starlit skies. During your stay, I'll be residing in the house with my sociable dog, Toby. We'll be respectful of your privacy but available for any assistance you may need. Toby loves company, including other dogs, and has even been around cats with proper introductions. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to arrange a booking! French Connection Wines is right next door and the renowned William Chris Vineyards is just 1 mile away. Not to be missed is the Garrison Brother's Bourbon Distillery, less than a mile down the street – you could even walk to all three! Our property features a shared, covered outdoor patio with a games court for corn hole, checkers, and bocce (checkers, boards and balls provided), gas fire pit, and a gas grill for those cooler nights. The patio is lighted with cafe lights. One of the RV slips is covered, while the other is nestled under a charming burr oak tree. On-site, we also offer a rental cabin. The covered RV slip is equipped with 30 and 50 amps, the other hookup is 50 amp, both have their own water and clean out connections. Both RV slips are on grass/dirt, and the entrance/exit is grass and dirt. Our property uses rain water recapture. Please conserve water when you can when cooking, washing up and cleaning. No washing of cars or RVs is allowed. Please note that there might be other guests staying on the property during your visit. Kindly be considerate of noise levels and how it may impact the experience of fellow guests. You may also be sharing amenities such as the grill, deck, outdoor kitchen, and games court. We welcome dogs, but it is your responsibility to manage their interactions with other guests' pets. Due to potential gaps or larger openings in the fencing, we recommend keeping your dog on a leash. The owners live on the far side of the property. The rest of the property is left natural for wildlife, so expect uneven terrain, tall grasses, and yes sometimes scorpions, spiders and snakes along with deer, armadillo, wild turkeys, and lots of songbirds.

There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course).
