The Painted Bunting and the Black-throated Sparrow almost always available for view here. Hill Terrace Cabins One and Three began their existence as Depression era Girls Scout cabins. Humans have been on the site and estimated 7,000 years now and there is strong sense of peace and continuity in the land and waters here. An historical marker on site relates a famous shoot-out between The Texas Rangers and the infamous Potter gang. The wells are shallow, spring fed, and sweet with limestone, so bring your favorite tea or coffee. And a hat! The river is flowing well, but burn bans may be in effect.

We have 16 cabins, a central recreational area and 600' of private riverfront. No crossing the highway to access the river! Great stretch of river for fishing, swimming, kayaking and relaxing. My great grandfather built the original "Camp Waltonia" as a primitive fishing camp with only camp sites, a dining hall and bath house. He wanted to share his love of the outdoors. Over the years, cabins were added, and the dining hall became the main house/office. Some cabins are original 1920s and 1930s, others were built in the 1990s. We have one brand new cabin that was completed June 2023. Most cabins have HVAC, BBQ grill, picnic table and screened-in front porch with porch swing and dining table. Concrete patio with BBQ pit and picnic table. Free parking, free WiFi. Enjoy direct access to the river, with kayaks available to registered guests. Central recreational area with playground, washers pit, ping pong, corn hole. Located one hour from San Antonio, 30 minutes from Fredericksburg, 2 hours from Austin. No parties/events. No pets.

Weekend Trip to Boulderdash Cabin & Camping

Our stay at Tent Site #2 at Boulderdash Cabin & RV Park was absolutely wonderful! Carol-anne and Lyn were amazing hosts—friendly, responsive, and super thoughtful. They provided helpful tips before our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed for a great experience. The site was peaceful and well-kept, surrounded by nature and just steps from the Medina River. Even though it was a short hike to the bathrooms, we were well-prepared thanks to their clear heads-up and suggestion to bring a tent potty—especially useful since we were camping with our child. We appreciated the attention to detail, from the check-in process to on-site items like firewood and ice. The no-visitor and quiet policies helped make the space feel safe and relaxing for families. We made some great memories here and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking to disconnect, relax, and enjoy the outdoors!

We absolutely loved our stay! We spent the weekend kid free celebrating our 13 year anniversary & couldn’t help but talk about how much the kids would have loved it! Will definitely be back sometime soon with the kids! Plenty of areas to swim or sit in the water and enjoy the absolute peacefulness of the flowing water and watching the sunset!

We loved camping out at Boulderdash! The campsites were clean and well maintained. There are amenities like freshwater, WiFi, and electricity available if you’d like, but it doesn’t feel like glamping. If you forget anything, Carol-Anne and Lyn have it handy. The riverside sites are a short walk to wading in the Medina river. The kids and dogs had a blast. Campers who come here should abide by the camp’s simple rule; don’t be a jerk. We’re looking forward to coming back as soon as possible!

I would definitely consider myself an avid outdoorsman/camper, and let me tell you that I am glad that I found this spot. This location has everything you need, restrooms, community sink, and amazing access to the river. The campgrounds are very clean, and the RV sites are perfect. Carol Ann and Lyn put their passion for camping and traveling into their property. And it shows. These people made us feel like we were family, and honestly just want you to have a great experience while you’re at Boulderdash. If I could give this place 10 stars I gladly would. Thank you all very much me and my family, Hope to see you all soon again!

This is our second time staying at Dos Rios. We always have a great time. The tent had everything it needed but was a little dirtier inside than what I expected after staying in the Jupe properties but nothing that would deter us from coming back. The host is super friendly and helpful. We love the proximity to the river and neighboring towns.

The gorgeous, green/blue water of the Llano River is perfect for a quick dip to cool off, or in February, a refreshing way to start the day!

Both my husband and I really enjoyed our weekend in the hill country, especially here at Seco Ridge! Woody was kind, responsive, and his directions were very clear. The campground itself is spacious, clean, and very quiet which was a plus! Bathrooms and showers were available as well. Each site is numbered and has its own unique characteristics; we reserved site 6 which had the BEST sunrise view. We came on a holiday so we were surprised to find that we were the only ones on the campground. Needless to say, we will definitely be back again and hope to enjoy the band/brewery on the campground next time!

Camping at Boulderdash was absolutely amazing. We rented tent site 1 and our friends rented tent site 2 and it worked perfectly to have that area together. The sites were clean, quiet and had awesome amenities including the outdoor kitchen area to share with each other. This made washing dishes, charging devices and washing hands so easy. The river is beautiful despite being low and there is easy access to it. They are pet friendly as long as your pet is friendly and that's a huge plus. The hosts were so kind as well, they even put on an easter egg hunt for all the kids on site Saturday night. I can't say enough great things and will definitely be back.

This was a beautiful spot. We camped with friends in tents and the amenities were awesome. There was tons of space between the RV sites, tent sites, cabin and trailer. Carol-Anne and Lyn were very helpful and accommodating. There were very nice extras like an Easter egg hunt and feed corn at the site. We will definitely be back.

This campsite was BEYOND amazing !!!!! This place had an awesome section to spend time with the other campers AND had live music Saturday night !! Bathroom’s and showers were clean and updated !! Very much recommend staying here. Stayed in campsite 1 and was very secluded if you’re looking for something more to yourself and/or your family. Will definitely be back !! Everything about this site is absolutely beautiful. It was just the right size for a perfect getaway to relax and spend some time outdoors. The host were very friendly, including the dog and cat that hang out around the kitchen/bathrooms. This little hideaway had some small trails to explore, while the host had several unique art installations around the property as well. Can’t wait to plan another trip out there soon!!
