Our goals are to establish a thriving community, grow most of our own food, build tiny houses to rent or sell, create sustainability and be as self sufficient as possible, salvage material for builds, host events and retreats, teach classes, and more. Our property is a densely forested 85 acres with a walk-able 2 miles around the perimeter of the property and many trails and hidden nooks to explore throughout the heart of this beautiful escape back to our natural roots. We are in the process of mapping out the trails- which we plan to make available soon! For now those of you with a sense of adventure and desire to explore will certainly be satisfied. We have a full acre size pond and a kayak that you can feel free to use. There is a communal area around the pond that we will be adding to in the near future- you may run into some of our community members or other campers there from time to time, we invite you to socialize, bring a chair, perhaps a beverage or snack and get to know each other and us as well if we cross paths! You will observe and encounter wildlife in abundance including a variety of birds, wild hogs, opossums, armadillo, moles, spiders, scorpions, butterflies, praying mantis, walking sticks, snakes- keep an eye out for rattlesnakes and copperheads, deer, many insects, and more. Please be cautious and treat these creatures' home with respect for them as well as yourselves. Our property is also home to some lovely cows, chickens, a few dogs, and several cats- they (other than the cows who do what they please) generally remain in areas away from our camp sites though they may still decide to stop by to say hello! We have many spaces available for camping throughout the property. These are primitive campsites on raw land so you will need to provide your own tent, water, food, and operate with a leave no trace mentality when camping here. There are areas that can accommodate large groups of campers as well as very secluded nooks if you are looking for a private retreat into nature. There is plenty of fallen wood available for firewood and a fire pit will be prepared for you before arrival!

WATER LEVEL and FLOW The water level in photos are accurate. The water level has dropped 12 feet since March 2023, to rebuild the dam that created our lake. There is a certain flow requirement downstream from our property, so we maintain a minimum flow and consistent level/depth regardless of rainfall. Depth varies from 4 feet at our stairs to 10+ feet in the middle of the channel. Additionally, there's no boat traffic, so it's ideal for kayaking and fishing year round. Water flow slows in warmer seasons, and plumes of button moss intermittently float up from the bottom, collecting at water's edge. We still swim among the button moss, but it may not be ideal for some. Unfortunately, there's no way to predict when it will emerge and how long it stays. This is truly a gem. When we looked into staying a few nights in Austin, even small airbnbs were unaffordable. The sweet little trailer was enough for 2. The bed was extremely comfortable. The yard with the humongous live oak was magnificent.

Weekend Trip to Robins Nest Treehouse

We had such a great time staying at this treehouse in Lockhart! My wife and I stayed here with our two dogs, and it was the perfect cozy getaway for all of us. It had a really fun camping feel while still being comfortable, and the way it was creatively built around the tree made it feel unique and special. We especially loved the arts and crafts touches—it added so much charm. The bed was warm and super comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day outdoors. On top of that, the host was very responsive and genuinely kind, which made the whole stay even better. We’d definitely recommend this spot and would love to come back!

We loved coming to this secluded spot. It felt like a haven. Very quiet, no campers right next to us. Having the bell tent was fantastic so we didn't have to bring the extras of tent and mattress and bedding. This bed was really comfortable and clean. The outhouse was a short walk and also extremely clean. Frew wood bundle each night was also a blessing. We will be back.

Weekend Trip to Breathe Deeply

We had a great experience. Landers was very accommodating and helpful. Although people were close by, everyone kept to themselves, and the campsite still felt private. His two dogs were so sweet and respectful to our two dogs (and us!). We would absolutely stay here again :)
