Welcome to our property located in Hye, at the beginning of the Texas Wine Trail. French Connection Wines is right next door and the renowned William Chris Vineyards is just 1 mile away. Not to be missed is the Garrison Brother's Bourbon Distillery, less than a mile down the street – you could even walk to all three!
Our property features a shared, covered outdoor patio with a games court for corn hole, checkers, and bocce (checkers, boards and balls provided), gas fire pit, and a gas grill for those cooler nights. The patio is lighted with cafe lights.
One of the RV slips is covered, while the other is nestled under a charming burr oak tree. On-site, we also offer a rental cabin. The covered RV slip is equipped with 30 and 50 amps, the other hookup is 50 amp, both have their own water and clean out connections.
Both RV slips are on grass/dirt, and the entrance/exit is grass and dirt.
*****IF IT RAINS heavily while you are here, please use the paved driveway to exit the property as you may get stuck in the grass at the big double gate.*****
Our property uses rain water recapture. Please conserve water when you can when cooking, washing up and cleaning. No washing of cars or RVs is allowed.
Please note that there might be other guests staying on the property during your visit. Kindly be considerate of noise levels and how it may impact the experience of fellow guests. You may also be sharing amenities such as the grill, deck, outdoor kitchen, and games court.
We welcome dogs, but it is your responsibility to manage their interactions with other guests' pets. Due to potential gaps or larger openings in the fencing, we recommend keeping your dog on a leash.
The owners live on the far side of the property. The rest of the property is left natural for wildlife, so expect uneven terrain, tall grasses, and yes sometimes scorpions, spiders and snakes along with deer, armadillo, wild turkeys, and lots of songbirds.

My husband, dogs, and I stayed in The Hideout and it was the perfect cozy space with everything we needed. Communication was top notch and river access for fishing was a definite perk. We saw plenty of wildlife during our stay as well.

There's hot water and pretty everything you need near the campsite (a short uphill walk, maybe 2min). However, there's no table, lights, or water on the campsite, so to be prepared. The view is great and the toilet and shower are clean!!

Our group really enjoyed their stay at 13 Acres Retreat - we tent camped in the Magic Forest Area which is a few min hike down from the common areas and cabins. It was quiet, peaceful with amenities close by - having hot coffee available was such a bonus! The common area and the sunset deck were very pretty and the heated toilet block was a nice plus. The outdoor shower was great, with properly hot water. And it was a short 10min drive from Reimers Ranch, perfect for short hikes and sport climbing. Highly recommended!

Our stay in the safari tent was really nice. Exactly as pictured and described! The setup was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a camping trip without the hassle of packing heavy gear. The bathroom with the powered rooftop was such a great bonus and made the experience even better. We loved the balance of being close to nature while still having all the little comforts covered.

Lost horizon was a great experience for us. I’m in my 40’s and we enjoy camping but I am not into communal living or multiple units close together. This offered the seclusion we wanted and a fair price. You will need a 4x4 vehicle or at least a full size suv to get down the last stretch of road to the sites. Everything else is just as noted on the site and within the website for the property. Don’t hesitate to book!

The space was extremely clean and well maintained. The barn was spacious and had stylish elements throughout. There were horses that loved apples fed to them! It was a very charming piece of land, and the Host was extremely hospitable. I stayed (4) nights and have nothing but positive things to say. I will definitely be going back, and plan to stay longer next time.

We had a wonderful time staying at Lost Horizon with our two pups! We enjoyed the quiet and serene surroundings, saw mule deer and antelopes, and felt 100% rejuvenated and recharged. Jeremy and Stacie were kind and communicative hosts. I would recommend Lost Horizon to anyone looking for a getaway from urban living.

Very close to Austin (and to civilization) which was convenient but still had a very secluded and country vibe. Russell was very communicative throughout preparations for my visit to make sure every one of my needs was met. During our stay he connected a giant box fanto keep us cool, hooked up our grill so we could eat, and brought water to put out our fire without being asked. Excellent and accomodating host.
Place has more amenities than advertised. We were surprised to find a trampoline, tug-o-war, a speaker setup in the barn even. Wonderful spot that was very pretty to enjoy at night when the lights came on. Will be returning for another visit someday.

We enjoyed the quietness and the ability to see the stars at night. This a great spot for those looking to enjoy their wine tasing experience as this is in the heart of all the wineries. Bonus point for the less than a mile proximity to Garrison Brothers.
Take note that the water hookup is about 10- 15 yards behind the spot towards the right side. Luckily we had two hoses to connect.
