This is not a KOA or a state park. This is a home hostel/campground. It's kind of rustic and we like it that way. You may see a roach, ant or cricket and you may also see a deer, fox or coyote. We are busy and not always able to visit for long. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Sagebrush HonkyTonk and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. There are 2 LONG RV spots up to 45 feet in length BUT, they are back in only and the turn around area is tight if you have a BIG RIG. The 2 camper van sites are (Site 1) 32' and (Site 2) 22'. Highway 29 can be busy at times, despite being a two-lane road. Quiet hours are after 10 pm Sunday - Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee. This secluded hike-to (~ 1-2 minute walk) site is peaceful with limestone cliff views and no visible homes or signs of civilization. The trail head is accessed by a dirt road that winds around our corn field and into the woods, and can be accessed by any vehicle in normal weather conditions. We will provide warning/refunds if the river road becomes 4x4 only. Fishing is allowed with a valid Texas fishing license. There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please (day or night!).

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently I am almost always on the property and try to have my phone with me while campers are on site, just let me know what you need and I will do what I can to accommodate you. 2 acres in the hill country in a small wooded neighborhood. I live in the brick house, have several garages and sheds, etc on property as well. There are also a few honey bee colonies scattered on the property. Open grassy areas as well as tree covered areas. This is a quiet neighborhood and wildlife is abundant. You may hear coyotes and a great horned owl at night. To the left of the main brick house there is a restroom with a toilet and a small kitchenette with sink and microwave, open 24hours. (Go up the steps to the door with the restroom sign) You will also find a self-serve "store shelf" with our honey and a few other goodies, with Venmo instructions. There are 2 LONG RV spots up to 45 feet in length BUT, they are back in only and the turn around area is tight if you have a BIG RIG. The 2 camper van sites are (Site 1) 32' and (Site 2) 22'. Ask me if you want to know more! It helps me to approve you more quickly if I know how tall/long your RV is. Especially if you are longer than 24 feet. You can text me info. I have a place you can drive up to and get a water fill if you need extra water and you can release GREY WATER as needed to water the lawn. :)

Also please remember that while our farm is a total of 30 acres, only about 1/3 of that is available for open use by campers, the rest house our beautiful horses and other animals. Our farm is situated just a short drive from local attractions. We are 10 miles from the Historic Georgetown Square, 11.2 miles from the serene Blue Hole, and 38 miles from the hustle and bustle of downtown Austin. McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We offer a self-serve farm stand for our customers with fresh eggs, jelly and even pasture raised chicken - all produced on the farm. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! There is road noise. Highway 29 can be busy at times, despite being a two-lane road. Quiet hours are after 10 pm Sunday - Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee. This secluded hike-to (~ 1-2 minute walk) site is peaceful with limestone cliff views and no visible homes or signs of civilization. The trail head is accessed by a dirt road that winds around our corn field and into the woods, and can be accessed by any vehicle in normal weather conditions. We will provide warning/refunds if the river road becomes 4x4 only. Fishing is allowed with a valid Texas fishing license. There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please (day or night!).

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently I am almost always on the property and try to have my phone with me while campers are on site, just let me know what you need and I will do what I can to accommodate you. We had a great experience. Landers was very accommodating and helpful. Although people were close by, everyone kept to themselves, and the campsite still felt private. His two dogs were so sweet and respectful to our two dogs (and us!). We would absolutely stay here again :)

Camp EZ in Austin was fabulous! There is a local hotel in Austin with the slogan “so close, but so far out” and that fits Camp EZ perfectly as well. The camp is located in the middle of South Austin and very close to Downtown. James was an excellent host and the atmosphere at camp was peaceful, eclectic and had a nice rural feel due to some cute farm animals on the premises (in their pens of course). I would love to come back out again to camp.

Eden East feels secluded and remote despite being walking distance from town - the perfect mix. Sonya and David were super friendly and helpful. Our toddler loved looking at the chickens and had space to run around. A very easy drive to Bastrop State Park for hiking. The farm fresh eggs were delicious and a real treat, and there’s a whole farm stand on weds and saturdays. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect weekend getaway from apartment living! Plenty of privacy and an enclosed gate so our pup could wander while we made a campfire. Hot tub was such a wonderful treat, all water was temperature controlled and easy to use, compost toilet was clean, the bed was sooo comfy and grilling/cooking amenities were plentiful w/ options! Landers was an excellent host with clear direction and quick communication. This place is in an excellent location for travelers or those just looking for a nearby weekend retreat. Very safe. Love the ducklings on site. We look forward to visiting again very soon.

Loved my time on this Ranch. Went to camp at cedar bend park but they were closed, so thankfully I found this site and was able to have peace of mind in minutes. Makayla is quick to respond and very friendly. Never camped out on the riverbed before, very unique and fun. Tons of fire pits to choose from, and don’t forget to add on one of the many fun adventures that Makayla and the gang offer!

The weather turned cold before our trip but we decided to keep our plans on Billy’s land. And we are glad we did! There’s a dense patch of bamboo growing near the campsite which acted as a shield. We could hear the cold front blowing in, but never felt the wind! Although you can see another campsite, it’s pretty far in the distance and I barely even heard the other campers. Also recommend you purchase Billy’s bucket of firewood, it’s a phenomenal value, and helped keep us warm. We found our new winter camping spot! My very picky and particular dog LOVED it!

Weekend Trip to River Grove Campground

River Grove is one of my favorite spots around Austin. I've camped there several times and it never disappoints. We tried out campsite 3 vs River Bottom, and I'm infinitely glad I chose that one for our particular weekend. Temps got below freezing with huge gusts of wind, but because of a sizable bamboo forest on the grounds, the wind barely touched us, making for a much more comfortable weekend. We enjoyed campfires (Billy's $15 firewood is a BIG bundle y'all-- worth it), carved walking sticks, played Kubb (look it up!), braided bracelets. The pup had the time of her life as well. Beautiful spot, and Billy was a great host!

This was our second stay on Will’s property along the Guadalupe River, and it was just as great as the first. I camped here with my adult son, and the site is beautiful — a peaceful pecan grove with very easy river access. We spent our time on the water, with me fishing from my SUP and my son from his kayak. Will is a fantastic host: very responsive and easy to communicate with. We purchased firewood on site, which was super convenient. A fun highlight was the daily visit from the goats and sheep grazing through the property — a unique and memorable touch. Despite other campsites on the land, the site still felt quiet and private. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxing riverside campsite with easy water access. We’ll definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to P² Farm | Scenic River Camping

This has been one of my favorite HipCamps I've ever stayed at. The host provided many things at the site that were very thoughtful, such as a hammer for tent stakes, and a small grill in addition to a portable firepit. I went with a friend, and we had a girl's campout with our 9 year old daughters, and everybody had a great time! Would highly recommend the Mother Tree site, which even with no leaves on the tree in the winter months that I visited, is an incredibly awe-inspiring site of a 700+ year old pecan tree. The tent area was flat, and the river was incredibly soothing to listen to at night. If you're thinking of booking it, go for it! I'll definitely go again.

Our family of 4 enjoyed this site, we were right by the water and felt safe enough to let our two toddlers wonder around and explore. At night it was nice hearing the sounds of the wildlife. Billy was very accommodating with the wood he provided and guiding us to our site. With him providing the wood it was one less thing for us to pack in. We would camp here again and even bring some friends too.
