Our stay at Hillside Live Oak Grove was incredible. William was such a kind and helpful host super communicative, always quick to respond, and made us feel very welcome. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Our campsite was private, quiet, and felt far from everything, perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. There’s also a great fire ring where we made a lovely campfire under the stars 🔥🌌 We’d 100% recommend this spot to anyone looking for a calm and scenic place to camp. We truly loved it and can’t wait to come back!

Really nice campsite. Clean and easy accessibility to the river. The river crossing was closed and there was no mention of that during booking. It was a bit concerning when we reached the passing and had no cell signal. We had to walk in the river and realize it was ankle deep and passed along side the closed bridge with the car and drove through the river water. Would recommend. Lots of fun and nice to relax in the river.

Unbelievably sweet experience. Host was caring and accommodating. The grounds were impeccably kept and stunning. The facilities were sparkling clean and beautifully crafted. Stayed in the RV since all of the A-frames were booked and it was equipped with everything I needed, including a little jackery so I was able to plug in and do some work. She really thought of everything. But I would say the best part was waking up to fresh complimentary (artisanal?!) pour over coffee and an outdoor shower. The bulletin board in the kitchen was also very informative about local happenings and things to do so I got the tip to stop at center provisions on my way out of town and stock up on treats! The only thing I would change is having been able to stay longer. Hope to be back. Really special

“Fritz’s land is such a wonderful experience. Just the drive to the cabin gave us a surreal overlanding feel with fun river crossings—perfect even for beginners. The kids loved every bit of the trip. While we chose the cabin for access to hot water and power, we all ended up tent camping and had an awesome time. The land, the people, and the animals were all amazing. We can’t wait to visit again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable getaway.

As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2.
