Use Greener Acres campsite as your jumping-off point for fun nearby activities or relax on our 40 acre mountainside property and watch for meteor showers in the clear night sky! Within 5 minutes, you can be at Roan Mountain State Park or drive 5-10 minutes to hike the Appalachian Trail. Head up to Carvers Gap just below Roan Mountain High Knob where you can hop out and enjoy a short walk to a scenic view of both the TN and NC mountains or visit the famous Rhododendron Gardens in season. Campsite also boasts energizing, private hike up to Heaton Ridge. Want to spend the day kayaking or canoeing? Head to Wilbur Lake, about a 30 minute drive away from our campsite. Exploring Laura Falls is only a 20 minute drive away. Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain in N.C. are about 30-45 minutes away. The Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood are about a 2 hour drive through amazing mountain views. The annual Rhododendron Festival takes place minutes away. Supplies can be found at the state park camp store or in town at Redi-Mart or Dollar General. Water and showers are down by barn. A Gator is available for the duration of your stay. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. A Coleman stove with a small propane tank, pots, a frying pan and utensils is also included in the site. Another small propane tank is provided for the radiator in the tent.

A Tiny-Aframe is a semi primitive glamping site, nestled next to a flowing creek on 15 acres in the mountains of WNC. Electricity/WiFi are available, there is NO running water at our property, but if you would like to shower in a comfortable setting there is a new YMCA in Spruce Pine which is about 20 minutes away and has a daily fee of 10.00 a day to shower up.
Get close with nature by relaxing in a hammock, sitting by the fire, or hiking the old logging roads on the property. There is a compost toilet and a Ring doorbell by front door for check in/security/safety, but it’s turned off upon arrival. * The other building you see in the photos is a shed that we use for storage. It is not another site, you are all alone on 15 acres.

Learn more about this land:You’ll cross the covered bridge (clearance 11’6” ) as you enter our farm, a 73 acre small family farm, nestled in the Buffalo Valley of Northeast TN, and featuring a down home country atmosphere. What makes our farm special are all of the unique extras: a working log cabin blacksmith shop, log cabin art gallery, certified commercial kitchen, lots of watchable wildlife, and walking trails. Gusher Knob is a 220+ acre forested mountain near Spruce Pine, NC. One of the campsites has a 12 x 12 raised platform for your tent (we don't recommend pitching a tent anywhere other than the platform), picnic table, fire pit, and a hook to hold a lantern. This first campsite on the property has a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A second campsite is more primitive (no picnic table or platform yet) is in a forested section with access to the Toe River. It is available now, but improvements are planned such as building a platform, adding a picnic bench and expanding the current fire pit.
Please stay on the trails and the campsite areas as the surrounding land is private and monitored. Cell coverage is ok. Nearby hiking, climbing, and fly fishing are a few activities you will enjoy when visiting this lovely area of western NC.
One campsite is a short 7-minute easy hike along a well-marked clear trail from the parking spot. The trail is non-technical and will mostly accommodate camping gear with wheels, such as a cooler. The other campsite takes a little longer hike to reach (10-minutes).
Since it's situated in the woods, please be aware that you may encounter any number of nature's residents such as deer, squirrels, box turtles, wild turkeys, and bears. Please do not feed them and make sure to protect any food items appropriately. None of the natural residents has any interest in you personally, but they are known to be drawn to available food items.

Nice little farm with lots of animals. Very cool for kids. Picnics. Or just laying in the sun. Clean bathrooms and water are easily accessible . I've also been purchasing baked goods as well as bison chili from the owners of the farm...so that's been wonderful. No need to bring food for the picnic. Pat makes the best baked goods and chilli. Robyn, the blacksmith gave me a full lesson on constructing a steak BBQ utensil from scratch. It was very informative and it is truly the best tool I've ever used while cooking steak . I would highly recommend getting some of his stuff and maybe asking for a lesson . Very unique stuff I've never seen in stores . Worth every penny. Come here if you're looking to unwind, possibly grab some chilli and baked goods , speak to the ancient bison , pet the goats, and tread the winding creek , this is the spot.

The Pineola is a wonderful place, the team reached out shortly after booking with all the necessary information, the location and campsite was easy to find and the campsite was in a beautiful spot. The only recommendation I have is to contact the Pineola before booking to see if there is a love band that will be playing outside as this happened during my stay and made it difficult to go to sleep as I could here the band/music until they ended around 10:00 pm. I would definitely book again, but will call ahead next time to check.

Ocean Blue was great!! A true oasis in the wilds of western NC! We asked Kevin, the host, for some area info, and he sent more great ideas for things to do in the area than we could do during this one short trip, and I've lived here for 30 or more years, so I know about most of the "first time here and have already been there" places in the North Carolina Mountains.
The arched cabin was wonderful, fun, and unusual. The headliner of our stay at Ocean Blue was the night sky!!!

We had the most perfect camping getaway on this land. Trevor was extremely responsive and greeted us upon arrival. There are plenty of flat spots around the site to set up camp. We fit two 3-4 person tents around the site. This site was extremely dog friendly - room for the pups to explore off leash and no barbed wire or other hazards around. By far the cleanest bathroom we have ever experienced at a Hipcamp. The picnic table, fire-pit, grill, hammock hooks, and benches are an added bonus/level of comfort not every other Hipcamp offers. We will definitely be back!
