You'll be surprised at how cool the tents stay under the forest canopy in the heat of summer. Then in the colder months we have various heating options to keep you cozy in 3 of the dwellings. Come to share this with us, it's an amazingly peaceful area.
Nearly 3 miles of hiking trails to enjoy during your visit. Take a spur trail off the main trail loop and there is a prayer shelter with a fire pit inspired by Luke 6:12 in the back corner of the property. Located at the edge of the prairie on the main trail is a sunrise/sunset/bird-watching platform that is 20 feet in the air with a 2 stage bridge to access it. We updated the outdoor kitchen with a 3 burner propane stove, Blackstone grill and hot running water with a 3 bay sink. Other cooking options include a tripod over the fire and a charcoal grill.
A short 10-minute drive to fire tower rd. brings you to a 2 mile loop trail with 2 waterfalls, Upper and Lower Piney Falls. Ozone falls is just a 20 minute drive. Then toward Spring City is Stinging Fork Falls at 25 minutes. Black mountain is my new favorite place especially the south overlook! The Hiking possibilities are nearly endless and close. I'll highlight one thru hike here since both trailheads are only 20 minutes away and is easy to coordinate with only 2 vehicles. It's a 10.2 mile hike that can be done in either direction and has a little something for everyone including a cave, boulder field, cascade and waterfall. Then you have massive Watts Bar Lake which is only 20 minutes away with a plethora of activities including the excursions we offer!

Things to do around the area, Fall Creek Falls State Park. Fall Creek Falls, at 256 feet, is one of the highest waterfalls east of the Rockies. While at the park enjoy the cascades, gorges, waterfalls, hiking, fishing, golf, boating rental, bicycling, picnic, playgrounds, basketball court, softball field, snack bars and enjoy the nature.
We are less than 1 hour away from Rock Island State Park and Cumberland Mountain State Park.
Located in Van Buren County, within a 30-minute drive. The Fall Creek Mennonite community has a variety of small businesses (seasonal produce, garden center, greenhouse, fabric, metal shop, warehouse and general store) in their community.
Also, on the way to Fall Creek Mennonite community is Fall Creek Falls Riding Stables. They provide a guided horseback tour through the woods. It normally takes an hour.

Find peace at this private campsite close to Watts Bar Lake. Nestled in the tall trees, your large, private site features a fire pit, picnic table, and a “Tennessee Bathroom.” Site is nearly 100% shaded all day long. The area is surprisingly quiet. Deer, turkey, turtles, frogs, and cardinals have all been seen on the property. Before you exit your tent in the morning, stay quiet and look out first - who knows what you might see. Parking is right next to the site.
Watts Bar Lake is within a few hundred yards and a public boat ramp is just about 3 minutes down the road. Watts Bar is over 72 miles long, 722 miles of shoreline, and is known for good fishing, kayaking, birdwatching, and other recreation.
This is a good base for day trips to Knoxville, Chattanooga, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Smoky Mountain National Park.
Note: Bring your own tent/supplies, or options include tent and/or propane tank rental. Pack out your own food, animal, and human waste. As this is private property, it is still the woods of Tennessee, so expect all that goes along with that. We are a horseback riding stables located 2.5 miles outside the crown jewel of the Tennessee State Park System, Fall Creek Falls State Park. We offer a 2.5 mile guided trail ride, short-term boarding, and a petting zoo. There is a bathhouse on site which also houses a game room and laundry facilities. We will be updating our site pictures soon. Although short-term boarding is offered, we unfortunately are not able to allow personal horses on our trails.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Thomas’s camp! It is overwhelmingly evident that lots of care, hard work and love has been poured into his property. The spot was very easy to find + get to, and we found that the short walk to the camp site was well worth the privacy and serenity. The camp site is very clean, well maintained, and the charcoal grill + fire pit grill was a game changer! We enjoyed our time exploring the swimming hole, surrounding marked trails and reading by the bubbling creek. Our dogs had a blast as well! We came back and booked our next weekend here before even unpacking- haha! Absolutely come camp here!!!

This is a gem!!! This little apartment is exactly what we needed for a few days away. Krys has stocked it with everything you need to plus a few extras. The bed was comfy, the fridge and freezer was the perfect size. Loved the air fryer/ toaster oven. Coolest bathroom ever. We LOVED all the puppy and kitty cuddles. Krys was a joy to hang out with. I hope we get to come back through that way again soon. We highly recommend.

Owner was very accommodating for our 9:00 pm arrival. Campsite was secluded from other people, didn't see other campers except on the way in and out. Nice trail down to the creek. Fire ring was nice and clean. No mosquitos during our visit in mid June. We were looking for secluded campsite and we found it.

This was a great place to stay and Jodie is a very thoughtful, informative host. We had 4 families staying at the property and there was plenty of room for the kids to run around and the adults to relax. The glamping tents were great and had absolutely everything you could need to camp in comfort. Definitely would stay here again the next time we are in the area.

We LOVED camping at Fall Creek Falls Stables Campground. Dale and his team were so friendly and accommodating.
The campground is clean and peaceful. The sites are well maintained and have plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors and all that is expected when camping.
The bathhouse is roomy and extremely clean. Literally the cleanest campground bathrooms I have ever seen!!!!
We stumbled on this campground because the state park was booked solid and we needed to find an alternative to the state park. This was actually so much better than any stay at the state park.....so glad we found this campground for our week's adventure in Tennessee.
I would HIGHLY recommend staying here and if we are ever back in the area we wi absolutely stay here again.
As an added bonus, Cotton the camel is the BEST!!!
