Hut or Tent, your choice. We just added the tent platform and it is your choice as to tent platform or Hut. They are about a football field away from each other. Get away from it all on a secluded mature wooded hill twenty minutes from the Ococee River. You can feel how old the Appalachian mountains are here. Remote enough and private but no 4WD needed (flat terrain to parking) and enough neighbors if needed (road running through property leads to subdivision by Apalachia Lake so has traffic on it.) To the right of the road is a creek and bog, to the left we have several acres of woods to explore and relax in. You will see an occasional car on the private road that runs below the Hut but on the hill, you will have complete privacy. Please note we have not yet added a firepit or compost toilet to the tent platform so you will be needing to go to the Hut for both of those. You can get to the Hut from the Platform along the road or through the woods. It is a beautiful place to chill and hang out that we are happy to share with you. Three of ten acres to the right of the road that runs through our property are a bog that runs along a creek with the creek joining wild remote Apalachia Lake. (Pretty much unpassable Nature saying keep out.) But enjoy hiking and exploring our seven gently sloping mature wood hills. There are also lots of well maintained dirt hillside roads for exploring or biking. Enjoy our Baba Yaga hut with only the bare necessities but you will be flat, dry and able to enjoy the woods all to yourself. Or the Tent Platform pretty much complete privacy. When one is rented, we take the other off the calendar so you get the entire place to yourself. Come explore and then chill away from it all.

We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there. An absolute gem. Great for families and couples. The owner and staff were always available for anything you need. The creative decor and lights along the stream was a nice touch. Plenty of outdoor games, loved the animals. Each site had its own firepit and grill. You can buy wood onsite if you run out. There’s a dumpster to throw your trash, washing machine and dryer. Everything we needed! We highly recommend. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us.

Nice quiet location with 3 FHU sites. Nice views during October color. Hiking trail on property and close to several parks for more hiking. Pick up your groceries at Ingles in Town before heading up. 4 Wheel drive a must. Low 4WD better. We got our 33.5 foot rig up to the site with little trouble. Graham is very responsive and helpful.

We loved our stay at the Magical Resorts Groundskeeper Cabin! Mary truly thought of every detail when designing and decorating each space. The beautiful stained glass, cozy bedding, fire torches, and even the dishes made us feel like we were actually in Hagrid’s cabin! Even if you’re not a Harry Potter fan, the cabin is simply beautiful and so thoughtfully done. We have two younger children who absolutely loved it—they spent hours on the swings and the play area by the water and enjoyed feeding and petting the animals. One evening we visited downtown Haynesville and had a great meal at a local restaurant. We probably could have spent more time exploring the town, but we just loved relaxing in nature. Mary was so kind and quick to respond to all of my messages. We will definitely be back!

The attention to detail was amazing. From the decorations to the fresh smell linens. Mrs. Shannon and Mrs. Amy were very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Petting the animals was an great experience. Especially the Polynesian Cavies! We had an awesome time and will be back!

Weekend Trip to The Cove at Dick Branch

We really enjoyed our quiet weekend at the Cove at Dick Branch. With only 4 sites, it is far from the crammed parking-lot experience of many mountain-view RV campgrounds. You are surrounded by nature, but have full RV hook-ups (30 amp). It was a huge plus for us that our dog did not have to be constantly on-leash. He had a wonderful time chasing frisbees and balls up and down the hillside. Potential campers should be aware that Site 1 and 2 are in close proximity, but would be perfect for friends camping together. Also take the description of the access road at its word. It is gravel and steep getting in and out of the property. We had a 21ft travel trailer and could negotiate without any problem. If you are wanting a home base for day hiking in the Nantahala National Forest, it is an excellent choice. I would definitely camp here again.

We had a great time camping with friends and especially liked how secluded it was. Hiking along the snowbird to waterfalls was a real treat. Our campers fit just fine and spots were nice, but I wouldn't want to bring anything too big up there. The water tasted great and the dogs loved being off leash.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Mulberry. We were only there for stop and go since we had plans in Ellijay but we are stoked to come back. The campsite is great with nice bathrooms with hot showers. The staff for us was the highlight. SUPER friendly and hard working folks. And if you’re going to stay here take advantage of the meals. The dining hall is so cool. Make sure you’re on time though! The staff wears a lot of hats and they are hard working.

Such a great experience! The cottages were super cute, the property was peaceful, and we loved the animals and the little fairy village—it added so much charm. The hammock area was a really fun and relaxing touch. The host was kind, thoughtful, and very understanding when we had to leave earlier than planned. Everything was clean and cozy, and we truly enjoyed our time there. If I could make a small suggestion, it would be to add a few towel hooks for after showers and maybe clean the AC units or consider fans for better airflow. Other than that, everything was perfect—we’d happily stay again!

I really enjoyed my stay here! The campground is quiet, peaceful, and has a unique charm that makes it feel special. The rental was well stocked. Also, the owner was friendly and welcoming, which added to the great experience. The only thing I’d mention is that the air conditioning unit could use some cleaning or maybe an upgrade, and having a ceiling fan or two would really help with air circulation. Other than that, everything was great — I’d definitely stay here again!

We keep coming back!! We love this campground and the staff. Always a great trip!! I love the relaxing atmosphere the first sound of the stream is my ahhhhh Visiting the sweet animals in the petting zoo is always fun. Super cute cabins for those who don’t do tents or RVs. Very imaginative, clean and full of surprises. The bathhouse is immaculate!!!
