It allowed us to have enough time to drive down and explore the Badlands since we only had one day of fun. It’s about an hour away from here. We also got to see a famous roadside attraction Wall Drugs.

Horse Creek Resort was a fantastic stay during my road tip. Garret sent out helpful instructions beforehand, and the directions and maps were very helpful. The construction in the area (Sept 2025) did not affect getting into the site at all. The wifi available was a fantastic amenity. The bathroom and showerhouse were cleaned and well maintained. The property is beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. This was a perfect stop for me on a long road trip. Thank you Garret!

This is a big campground near the roadway. I think its probaby a better travel trailer place than a tent camping spot. Staff was friendly and the tenting sites were level. I stayed towards the back of the property to help distance myself from the road sounds. It helped, ear plugs would be my suggestion.

First - Garret was an excellent host! Friendly, responsive, available immediately! This place is a gem! Beautiful - nestled in mountains, meadows, national forest, a little creek and you can practically walk to Lake Sheridan. Keystone/Mt. Rushmore are 20 minutes away. RV, vans & tents... water, trash, electric and port-a-pottie. The tent area was so open, with picnic tables and fire pits. So peaceful, quiet - my pups loved it, as did I. Oh and great star gazy! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Just off I-90 in Sundance, Wyoming. 30 minutes from Devil’s Tower and close to Rapid City. Nestled back in the hills, with electricity, but no water or toilet. However, this wasn’t a problem since we had our own. We received good directions and had no trouble finding the place. There is a nice, long driveway to walk with no traffic. We never met the host, but had a nice stay.

The ambiance Horse Creek Resort presents is unlike any other campground in the Hill City area of the Black Hills. The niche fire pit and hammock's are cozy. Horses in the foreground create a serene experience. We were nestled amongst friendly seasonal residents with lots of local knowledge to help us get the full South Dakota experience. We didn’t stay long as we were passing through but this place was absolute paradise! Garret is super responsive and was a fantastic host! The view is unbeatable. My favorite part is there was no bugs. The bathroom and showers were perfect for our family and although we didn’t need it they do have onsite laundry which I’ve found can be hard to come by. The surrounding area is stunning, with Lake Sheridan just around the corner. Would definitely stay again!
