Note: location is SE of Eli Nebraska and about 8 miles off of HW20. It is approximately 1 hour west of Valentine Nebraska No electricity at the fire pot / picnic table. There is a 120 volt outlet on the east side of the grain bin. You can park. Beside the grain bin if you want.

This is just a little triangle of land on the edge of a small town with three full camper hookups. It is a convenient semiprivate location on your way to your destination. We are located “where the Badlands Begin” 20 minutes from the Badlands National Park. We are a tiny spot, 3 campers max, most likely just one possibly two campers, with a few trees, a couple pf picnic tables and a firepit. Kadoka is a safe, quiet, small ranching community. There is a small grocery store on main st. It is open Mon thru Sat from 9 to 6. Main street is also home to the post office, a laundromat and a flower shop. The city bar with on and off sale options is also located on main street. There is a subway and cafe ( the Sunset Grille) both located on the hwy 73 entrance to town. Kadoka has a city park with a swimming pool, covered picnic area and children's playground . The pool is open weekdays June and July. One last thing, Kadoka is a small town with volunteer fire and rescue teams. If there is a fire or car wreck, the siren will go off and continue until the volunteers arrive. It will stop, and you don’t need to do anything. It’s one of those things you get used to when you live here, but is a bit startling if you are not accustomed to it.

Come with supplies, there is limited shopping approximately 10 miles from nearest shopping in Wanblee. This is a remote area, safe for single travelers. As a RV Park it was reasonably well kept and served its purpose of providing a quiet and safe place to sleep for the night. The woman who checked us in was very welcoming and gave us suggestions of local restaurants if we chose to eat out. We have a self contained vehicle so can’t comment about any of the facilities and it was raining so we stayed put in our van.

We stayed in a rustic spot. The views are beautiful! Love that there is a dishwashing spot outside the bathroom with hot water, close access to the Badlands. The showers had great water pressure, but the curtains and bath mats need to be replaced, they had mold.

The location and views at this campground are excellent - right outside the National Park and beautiful views from every campsite. Staff was friendly and sites were easy to pull in and out of. Was not impressed with the the showers - mays were moldy, water pressure low and drainage in shower not great.

The campground is conveniently located next to the Badlands entrance. It’s definitely better than parking on the pavement drive of the NP campground. My disappointment was in the conditions in the bathroom/shower. Black mildew adorned the aging shower curtains, and increased the yuk factor. The bathroom itself seemed ok.

The view was beautiful! Although it is a ways off the highway most of the way was paved. The hosts were friendly and even provided us with fresh fruit. Be aware you are next to a cow pasture so flies may be an issue in late summer. The outhouse was acceptable. The water is via a hose which brought back great memories of childhood. Firewood was available.

Francis's land was a great find. If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend staying there. The road leading to the property was actually well maintained and smooth going over the cattle guards. It was peaceful and not a person in sight. Was exactly what our group wanted. Plenty of places to setup camp.

We enjoyed staying the night on Jo’s land. The hookups were great for our 39 foot class A with 3 AC units. Jo and Gene greeted us, along with some of their visiting family members. We recommended getting off the beaten path to enjoy the quiet surroundings, friendly owners, and beautiful sunset!
