Awarded South Dakota's best Hip Camp 4 times. Uncle B's farm is a small 11 acre hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, turkeys, dogs, and cats. There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table. The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. There is also a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing. Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups. My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 4 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire. The Barn loft apartment is a studio apartment with a small galley kitchen and private bath. The Hippie Bus is new for the 2025 season and offers a trip back in time. We had a wonderful stay at Bear Den. We stayed three nights in the Lil Bear Cabin with a family of five and a dog. Everyone had a comfortable place to sleep and there was plenty of space inside the cabin. Tammy went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The cabin was cozy, the pavilion was a wonderful spot to wind down in the evening, and the bathrooms/showers were very clean. The location was great and close to so many attractions. It was a great base camp for Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Needles Highway, and so much more.

This was the BEST place we have stayed in a long time! Bear Den Cabins and Camp was the friendliest, cleanest, comfortable rental. Tammy greats you upon arrival and gives a tour of the grounds, which includes the cleanest bathrooms and showers. A washer and dryer are available, and ice is available for campers to use. The cabins and tents are extremely comfortable. The beds are great! Two pavilions are available to grill in, or sit and talk to other campers if you choose. The only thing that I would change is that they move the camp to New York. But we will drive 1700 miles again to stay there. It’s so convenient to Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Highway, Sylvan Lake. If you’re lucky, you might come up on some kids selling iced tea during your travels. We can’t say enough about Bear Den Cabins and Camp. You definitely would enjoy your stay.

I can't recommend this place enough. It's one of those places that is so great, you want to keep it to yourself. And at the same time you want to shout it from the mt tops! Tammy and Tim are fabulous hosts that know the area really well. They have created a beautiful little spot with many amenities. It's cozy, inviting and so clean! My husband and I were in disbelief of how good the service was here. You just cannot find experiences like this anymore. I felt like it was a place straight out of the 90s. So much to do everything was so clean. It was awesome. The pool was warm. They loved the gems and mining. It was basically 15 minutes to everything you could wanna do between seeing bison and Sullivan Lake and tons of hikes.

My band Puma Thurman stopped into the rustic cabin outside Sioux Falls on our latest tour and it was a perfect space for us to regroup after our show before our next gig in Denver. Out of all our stops this one was the one everyone talked about as the tour completed. Weekend Trip to The Larson Campground

This is a quaint little getaway. My kids loved it! They enjoyed interacting with the animals, sitting by the campfire, relaxing in their hammocks, and getting some R&R. Thanks to the Larson's for this neat getaway.

2 nights at Bear Den Cabins & Camp

This is a host that goes above and beyond for their guests. The housing and facilities were phenomenal. The amenities like ice, grills, laundry machines, refrigerators, showers, propane stoves, and of course the bathrooms, were of the highest quality. Better than most hotels and certainly the best of any HipCamp I’ve been to. You will want to meet the host for sure, and in turn you will meet the rest of the campers and become part of the community at this site. If HipCamp had a top ten campsites list on their app, this would be one of them.

Such a cute place and was a great alternative to a hotel for the night. I was just passing through for the night and didn’t have any of my camping gear, the cabins they have available provided everything we needed. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Tammy was incredible and the camp was spectacular! She’s friendly, accommodating, and clearly cares a lot. Everything was clean and we felt very comfortable. We did a lot in the hills, and coming back every evening to a place we could relax and unwind was a highlight of our trip. We highly recommend this campground to everyone!
