1 night at Cold Creek Farm

This property was absolutely fantastic! It is a little piece of heaven nestled I the foothills of South Mtn. The property offers peace, quiet and beauty with an amazing host that makes sure you're comfortable and taken care of. The property also hosts a slew of gorgeous animals including Highland cattle. The site is well-maintained, well stocked and provides you comfort away from home. Its far enough away from civilization to give you peace and quiet, but also close enough if you want to run and get a pizza or hit a local brewery. I will be staying again in the near future and recommend to any and everyone!

I've been camping for all 40 of my years on this planet and this was the best camping experience I've ever had. I'm usually the primative camping type but my GF along our dog and I were on a road trip from Minnesota and I wanted to find the best campsite with the best view of the mountains while we were down there, despite not having any of our gear with us. I'm absolutely convinced that we found it. Everything was easy to find when we showed up and we had the whole place to ourselves since it was a Monday into Tuesday. When we arrived our tent was unlocked and ready for us, and the firewood already stacked next to the pit. We literally got out of the car and went straight to the hammocks and enjoyed the view. I specifically booked the only clear-sky night of the week and was rewarded with one of the top 3 sunsets I've ever seen. Absolutely phenomenal. William eventually came to check on us and make sure we found anything, what a friendly guy!! We BS'd for a little bit while he played with our dog and I loved every second of it. It felt like such a privilege to be in such a beautiful place with an amazing host. William, we can't thank you enough! Definitely hope to make it back one day. My only regret is only staying for a single night. What an absolute gem.

Such a beautiful property and so well-designed! Even better than the photos convey. Each yurt, along with the cabin, offers its own gorgeous, unique view and level of separation from other sites. The tent sites probably offer the most privacy if that’s what you’re after. The vista from the picnic/BBQ area is also so beautiful and peaceful. The amount of work the owners have put into their campground is very evident, and I’m grateful they share it with the public. Less than a half hour to South Mountains state park which has begun its phased re-opening post-Helene (hooray!!). Definitely hope to return someday soon!

Great campground! I am come out for the meteor shower. Got scared about clouds by the night sky stayed clear for most of the night. I stahed at site 5 which was nice because it right across from the overlook.

This camping spot is awesome, site 3 is on a big piece of land that is more secluded the further you go back. Our dog Ginger loved running around the trail in the back. Beth and Rob are great hosts, they always made sure we had what we needed. I would definitely come back.

My family and I had a great experience at Starlight. Exactly as pictured. William is very attentive and met with us at our site shortly after we arrived to greet and give us some information about the grounds. While walking the grounds, you can really grasp the vision William has for Starlight as he is consistently expanding and improving the campground. It was our base for enjoying the area. From hiking Catawba Falls to adventures and rapids at the U.S. National Whitewater Center! Another great family vacation in the books!

Located on family land granted by King Charles in 1685 we have worked hard to restore and refurbish in a sustainable way, using the trees and supplies from the land that they sit on. Hand crafting doors and furniture the way the family did it 140 plus years ago. The history of this place is deep, even the nails for the cabin and farm house that is now the clubhouse were hand crafted by my great grandfather in his blacksmith shop, along with the wagon wheels, horse shoes, misc farm utensils etc... there was no running out to Lowes to pick up what was needed, it was made in the blacksmith shop. We love riding ATV's and SXS's on the trails on the mountains that I grew up on with my 3 brothers, we hope the people who visit and experience the mountains feel about them the way we do, we love em. We like to give riding tours and talking about the mountain and its challenges. We named the park from the famous product that was created here during prohibition, Cherry Bounce Moonshine. You can visit some of the original still sites on the mountain, of course they are not operational today. About the adventure co side, We are an adrenaline pumping ATV and SXS park with 25+ miles of mountainous trails at four skill levels; Green (Easy), Blue (Challenging), Black Diamond (Very Difficult) and Double Black Diamond (Most Difficult). You can bring your own ATV or SXS or rent one of ours. We have cabins & camp sites that are accessed by ATV or SXS on the mountains as well as hiking or biking. We do not allow jeeps, trucks or dirt bike motorcycles on the mountain, just ATV's and SXS vehicles.

A peaceful mood is set by warm-toned sawmill lumber walls, recessed lighting in the ceiling, a kitchen window above the sink that overlooks the side yard campfire area and beautiful woods surrounding the cozy cabin. The bathroom is so nice with a stand-up shower, hand-made oak vanity, and a door to the "star-gazing" porch. Flood lighting lights up the area around the cabin at night so you might spot a deer, fox, or even a bear traveling through or getting a drink of water from the pond. Other things to note Note from a Guest: Great property for family, couple, or small group This unique farmhouse style home is a great choice for travelers and an excellent venue for gatherings by local residents. It has easy access but the property has abundant trees and is secluded from nearby roads and homes for privacy. The interior, baths, and kitchen are updated but maintain a pleasant farmhouse feel. The host had it perfectly clean and well stocked. It has a bonfire pit and a smaller fire pit for outside gatherings and the hot tub was immaculately clean, heated, and ready for use when we arrived. Kids can enjoy swings and slides. We used it for a small gathering where about a dozen guests gathered during the day and six spent the night. Could not have been happier with property or hosts. Fireworks are legal and permitted within reasonable hours. Horses are welcome.

The space Property is isolated beside our personal cabin. There are 3 full beds. The bedroom is a room that can be closed in for privacy, the 2 bunk beds ar full beds. The lower bunk and bedroom have linens. The top bunk we have a sleeping bag. The kitchen is stocked with a coffee maker, pots and pans. We welcome pets but no more than 2 dogs or cats. If you have 2 dogs, they must be medium or smaller. If you leave the camper and leave your pets while you are gone, they must be in a pet cage. Guest access while you are here the 28 'by 8' camper is yours. There is a 12 by 24 foot deck in front of the camper with a porch swing, gas grill, rocking chairs, table and chairs, A fire pit, lighted posts and outdoor rug. Camper is hooked up to a well and septic. Other things to note Camper has linens and towels plus a sleeping bag on the top full size bunk. Pots and pans are provided. Plenty of silver ware, plates, glasses and coffee mugs along with a coffee maker. Chairs, rockers and deck swing. There are a lot of trees.
