Isla Mas Afuera

3 sites ¡ RVs, Tents4 acres ¡ Murrells Inlet, SC
3.5 acres lot, with plenty of buffer from the few neighbors in immediate vicinity, but so close to everything the inlet area has to offer. Beaches, tidal inlet with boat ramps, Waccamaw River with boat ramps, restaurants, shops, bars, State Parks, nature preserves, fun attractions and much, much more, all just moments away. I live here in a double wide by myself, two outdoor cats. Deer, fox, hawks and the like are common visitors. This is brand new to me, lots of improvements to be made in future to make a guests stay even better, so for right now it’s bare bones. Can accommodate tents or certain campers. No pump out, no electricity or running water for “sites” yet, if ever, but running water is here and available for free. Additions to come very soon: outdoor shower, available compost toilet available for rent while here, fresh herbs, vegetables, fresh local eggs, firewood, and covered gathering/ cooking area, and much more, I’m really excited. Open to idea’s and options. No fireworks/ gunfire allowed at anytime, no “parties”, but campfires, games, fun always welcome. I’d enjoy meeting guests apon arrival, I do have medical conditions that may prohibit it at times though.

Tall Grass and Pines

1 site ¡ RV3 acres ¡ Aynor, SC
This property is unimproved and unmaintained raw natural land. The entire property is surrounded by a farm drainage ditch on all sides, with random farm drainage ditches to insure the land is dry and a 60’ x 60’ old farm irrigation pond (see satellite photo to know where the ditches are located). There is plenty of seasoned raw wood (from when the property was cleared 4 years ago) laying randomly throughout the property to cut and collect for a camp fire. The land is located off a dirt access road that is well maintained by the county. The county dirt road can provide for hours of peaceful riding via mountain bikes. Campers are more then welcome to cut their own path on the land for their campsite. There is a fire pit by the large tree when first entering the property at Entrance 2 (please see photos for the locations of Entrance 1 and 2). Note: This raw land is unmaintained and was last cleared 4 years ago, photos are from April 2022. There is a video tour posted on youtube of the property, which can be navigated to via our twitter site link that is shared here as our website address.

Someday Lane

1 site ¡ RV3 acres ¡ Ash, NC
My wife and I have been blessed to share our eternal lives with one-another. Many years ago we learned that we cannot wait to "live our lives" when we reach "retirement" so we enjoy each day to the fullest. Some friends couldn't understand when we moved to southeast NC without any PLAN for our future. We are just happy to be alive each and every day that we are here. We made "someday" into "today" and we are happy to share the experience with you Learn more about this land: We are located in southeast NC, approximately 15-20 miles from area beaches. Our location is very "country" with lots of wildlife (deer, fox, rabbits, birds, etc...) roaming about. It is very quiet in the evenings and overnight. The campsite has a large paver stone patio and picnic table. We have a fire pit and when able we would be happy to host a night around the fire. We are pet friendly but request that dogs be on a leash or tie-out. We expect guests to pickup pet "litter". Campers are encouraged to use the swing and chairs set back under the pines. Also campers will find a guest book in the little library under the pine tree with a concrete bench nearby (you drive around in as you pull into the campsite). The book contains our WiFi password. Please leave us a note about your stay.

RV camping near Myrtle Beach guide

Overview

Nestled into the impressive 60-mile-long stretch of uninterrupted beach known as the Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach is a popular spot for sunbathers, beachcombers, and watersport enthusiasts. Enjoy paddleboarding, jet skiing, or parasailing in the Atlantic Ocean with cool sea breezes. Or kayak through nearby waterways next to camping resorts. Families love the waterparks and amusement parks in the area, and golfers adore teeing off at the many world-class golf courses. Myrtle Beach State Park and Huntington Beach State Park offer convenient camping options close to town, while Francis Marion National Forest takes hunters and campers deep into wooded marshlands.

Where to go

Myrtle Beach State Park

Myrtle Beach State Park is located right in town, offering a family-friendly campground with both RV and tent campsites. While not quite oceanfront, Myrtle Beach Campground is minutes from the beach. Follow Sculptured Oak Nature Trail and Yaupon Nature Trail to look for loggerhead sea turtles before returning to wifi-connected campsites with access to washrooms, bathhouses, and laundry facilities. Campers can also try crabbing or fishing for flounder, Spanish mackerel, and whiting using fishing rods available for rent from the pier gift shop.

Huntington Beach State Park

About 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach along Long Bay, Huntington Beach State Park offers surf fishing, boating, and birding opportunities. Campers also get the chance to swim in the Atlantic Ocean next to a secluded beach. For wildlife viewing, including alligators, explore the many boardwalks that extend into the freshwater lagoon and salt marsh. For a taste of history, visit Atalaya Castle, a masonry structure built in the 1930s without drawn plans. Campers will find beachfront camping opportunities at Huntington Beach State Park, including pet-friendly RV campsites with electricity, water, and sewer hookups. There is also complimentary wifi throughout the campground.

Francis Marion National Forest

For a camping experience near Myrtle Beach that’s more forested, consider dispersed, primitive camping at Francis Marion National Forest. Stretching over 250,000 acres, the forest spans diverse ecosystems with unique opportunities to view and hunt local wildlife. Hiking trails are relatively flat, but be prepared for swampy areas with ankle-deep water—especially in the eastern section of the park after spring and summer rains. Elmwood Recreation Area is popular during deer and turkey hunting seasons. And Buck Hall Recreation Area offers easy access to Bulls Bay for excellent shrimp baiting.

When to go

Summer is the most popular time of year for vacation rentals and camping in RVs around Myrtle Beach. Loads of sunshine and soaring temperatures are terrific for beach activities, swimming in the ocean, watersports, and mini-golf. Bugs are also at their peak during warm summer months. For fewer mosquitoes and thinning crowds, fall is a great option for camping in the area. The weather is cooler and less humid, plus it’s the perfect time of year to watch migratory birds and enjoy fall foliage.
