The farm was once a portion of the McTureus Plantation. Tony's family members were once enslaved on the plantation. Upon Emancipation a family member bought land and it remained in the family. Tony is a descendant of those family members whose foresight allowed us to be here today. Tony's parents entrusted the care and preservation of the property to us and we are doing our best to be good stewards and teach the value of this property to our children and young grandchildren.

I have 2 tent camping areas for rent with a view of the Leadenwah Creek. There is 1 large fire pit area which is shared if both sites are occupied. My sweet lab, Stella, lives outside mostly, so she will be around and loves to visit the campers. This is a NO SMOKING property.

Frances’s tent sites are nothing short of magical. They sit right on the edge of a beautiful saltwater marsh where you can watch redfish feeding, dolphins playing, and the most glorious sunrises you’ll ever see. The natural splendor of the place is only outshined by Frances herself; warm, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable. She makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Weekend Trip to Friendly Fowl Farm

My family stayed two nights at the magnolia site. The site was clean and tent safe, we didn't need a tarp to protect the bottom from small brush or rocks. There was a nice camping toilet that was clean and right on site. Only interacted with host to buy eggs for breakfast but that was our choice, the host was friendly and I'm sure wouldn't mind more interaction if a camper needed it. Love the fact that they are a small farm providing non commercial goods to their community. We felt safe and secure in this site. Remember that this is a working farm and there will be farm noises. Thank you for hosting us.

Our stay at Frances’s place was absolutely wonderful. The property is stunning — wide open downs, breathtaking sunsets, and that golden-hour light that makes everything glow. It’s a peaceful, beautiful spot that feels both grounding and inspiring. We also really enjoyed sharing the space with another camper — everyone was very friendly and very generous, which made the experience even more special. Frances’s generosity, warmth, and hospitality are truly unparalleled. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable throughout our stay. You can feel how much care and heart she puts into hosting. We left feeling relaxed, grateful, and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended!

We stay here every year...it never disappoints! Ron is a thoughtful and kind host...the property is well maintained, beautifully decorated,and is stocked with everything you need to have an excellent experience! Ron has added a new covered swing, which we loved and replaced several items to ensure proper working order (new grill and outdoor table/chairs). I chose this site the first year because it's pet friendly...we have returned each subsequent year because we absolutely love this place and feel so comfortable here with our Siberian Huskies!

This spot has the most amazing sunsets! Great for fishing and kayaking. Fran is an awesome host and always accommodating. Stella is always your guide around the property. We really enjoyed camping here! It's a beautiful and peaceful property. My dog loved jumping off the dock trying to catch the shrimp jumping out the the water as the tide rolled out. There's an abundance of wildlife here. We saw armadillos running though the trees, caught little crabs scurrying across the dock, and watched the shorebirds hunt the fish that were schooling everywhere. Fran is a wonderful, kind host. It was also a pleasure having her dog, Stella, join us around the fire and our walks down to the water. I definitely plan on staying here again!

I would love to Keep this place a secret but I simply can’t. This place is beautiful and great for sight fishing for red drum. Frances is an amazing host that will accommodate you in any way possible. Stella is your night time host. She will stand guard by your tent all night long. She also will guide you around the property while keeping you safe even at night. She also makes a great campfire companion as it seems to be her favorite place. Tons of wildlife around the area and also a great spot for crabbing. Best experience so far!

Weekend Trip to Friendly Fowl Farm

We enjoyed our stay at Belinda's farm! The owners were very pleasant and the animals were enjoyable to watch. The site was large, away from the home, and a perfect getaway. We rode bikes about 30+ minutes to the beach (along the highway and across the bridge) to the state park and had a wonderful beach day! There are several local restaurants and activities for things to do. Overall, easy site, flat, large, all amenities as stated. Thank you for Belinda and Tony for the opportunity to get away! We enjoyed meeting you and your animals!
