Weekend Trip to Scotland Pond

Relaxing, peaceful and private. My wife and I loved the entire trip. It rained most of the time. However the tree canopy was great when the rain was light. I highly recommend! We loved sleeping to the rain or the frogs. Both were nice. We will be back. We saw a fish in the lake that had to be over 3 foot long. (Unknown what kind) Lots of birds and one cat that was doing a great job hunting around the lake.

Great quiet spot not far from the interstate. Lots of room and nicely distanced from the other camp location. Cell service exceptional.

3 nights at Little River Hideaway

Not a bad spot with full hookups, wi-fi, and convenient to a nice area in the mountains. We visited some waterfalls and the town of Brevard on our stay. We didn’t quite expect to be visibly right next to a house through a small patch of trees, but the neighbors were extremely quiet and we didn't even know they were there. We even parked our truck so as to block the view of the house. Being that it was spring , there was a little activity in the community garden across the small entrance, but nothing bothersome. Our first night, we enjoyed a stroll through it to see all the pretty little garden “lots”. The stream down the little path is also pretty, but there’s not much hang out room, so we didn’t find ourselves down there much. We did enjoy having the picnic table on site and the host had great communication via Hipcamp, I felt like if we needed anything they would be responsive. If we wanted to return to the area, we would definitely stay again.

June has a wonderful spot to camp or park a small rv. As an FYI, I have a tall roof long wheelbase Sprinter, and I wouldn't suggest trying to fit anything any bigger down the driveway.

Stunning, serene private setting within minutes of the nearest town, Forest City. My husband did some catch-and-release fishing and I learned some of the fascinating history of the property to add to my storytelling repertoire. Neil was awesome at sending specifics for entering the property so we didn't scratch or get stuck in sloppy situation with our brand-new camper 😉

Weekend Trip to Scotland Pond

I loved this place!! It's on a pond with the geese playing in the water and the fire pit right next to it. Sitting next to the fire watching the birds play in the water and my dog run free was pure heaven for me. Don and Stephanie are super hosts. They really cared about my stay there. I definitely want to go back again!

I'd like to start by saying this is such a great spot, secluded and right on the water! It feels like your hidden in the woods but still very convenient to grocery store and restaurants downtown. Mike and Kelly were very accommodating and even helped us get our things down the short hike in and out of the campground, and offered to loan us any utensils or necessities we may forgotten.

Loved our stay with our little camper and two dogs. It was nice and clean. The raised porch was perfect us to place our 12x12 canopy over to escape from the rain and sun. Nice groomed trail down to a private water spot on the river. We will def be back!

The campsite “Buckeye Bank” was absolutely gorgeous. The grounds were very well kept, and the cleanliness of the porta potties was a very nice added bonus. The site was secluded, but easy to find. Communication with the host was quick and extremely helpful. Blair was a huge help in helping me pick the appropriate size campsite for our group and vehicles. I would love to camp here again and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Linville area.

This is probably my favorite hipcamp ever! We arrived late at night (10 pm) and had absolutely no issues finding the campsite and the adorable string lights really helped with setting up our tent. It’s the most gorgeous spot right on the river, and so quiet and secluded while being really close to town. The bank down to the river is quite steep, but it helped keep our dog from swimming all day. I can’t wait to come back!

This was my first time solo camping and I was a bit nervous about safety, but couldn’t have felt more safe! Great spot, beautiful views and creek. Not too far from downtown AVL.

Tent camping was great on the property, we stayed at campsite 2, plenty of space and flat land. Very nice that they had firewood available on the site. Also used the swing and picnic table. It was very nice to have a working toilet and water available. Great for just hanging out with the family and relaxing, private enough, not a lot of stuff for kids to explore, but close enough that we were to Kings Mountain Park. Very clean, had no problems.

We loved our camping experience on John’s land. It was peaceful, beautiful. We had all the privacy and seclusion we wanted while at the same time, John was available if we needed anything. we camped on the hill top and at first were bummed that we couldn’t be at the Riverside, but once we got to our campsite, we loved it. We could still hear the river and had a beautiful view of the sunrise. would definitely stay again.

Rock bottom campground that I am rebuilding after hurricane Helene has 6-8 Campsites right on beautiful Buck creek, a federally protected creek for its water cleanliness and clarity. It is known for its precious gems and minerals. Perfect place for panning . Each campsite comes with its own waterfall fed swimming hole. There is power, water and septic on the property, but not yet to the campsites. There is a small outdoor hot shower and toilet, at the moment, but we are working on a full bathhouse and shower. Also we will soon be running the power and water to each campsite. Great WiFi throughout the campground. If you have a self contained camper or rv , we can fill your tanks with fresh water, and also have a pump out station , so you can still use your bathroom and toilet. The campground is only 3.5 miles from the blue ridge parkway. To many hikes to list. Only 9 miles to the nearest city , Marion. Super quiet, beautiful open night sky for stargazing. We are a work in progress, so please excuse some of our construction views. It is a small campground with all 6-8 sites directly creekside with picnic tables and fire rings. So if you are looking for peaceful, beautiful place to camp by crystal clear , cool water to frolic in, this is your place. Your dogs and kids will love it. Our farm is Organic and we minimize the amount of chemicals used on it out of respect to the land. The creek has clean water, although we provide well water for the humans. Situated 20 minutes from Asheville and 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, we are close to civilization and far from the everyday hustle and bustle. This is a great place to unwind in nature. We will soon be adding Forest Bathing. The frogs eat most of the mosquitos and the fireflies will provide the nightly entertainment from May till August.

Neal Creek Primitive camping by the creek is located on private property. The two large campsites are approximately 300 feet apart and are located right beside the running creek. Plenty of shaded area's. We have a 6-8 person tent available to rent as well! Learn more about this land: We are only 1/2 a mile from the Interstate 85. So bring your tents, campers or your small RV and come and setup down by the babbling creek. If you don't have or own a tent, we have a large 6-8 person tent available for a small rental fee too. Build a nice fire in the fire pit. The firewood and kindling is provided. The campsites are semi-wooded areas with plenty of shade. They are very large private, peaceful and quiet sites. View the stars at night, play in the creek during the day or if you are into biking or hiking, go to the Overmountain Victory trail located about 15 minutes away and enjoy the 6.7 mile loop around Lake Whelchel right off I-85. Local attractions: Biking, Hiking, Climbing and Horse trails - Kings Mtn National Park, Kings Mtn State Park, Crowder's Mtn State Park, Overmountain Victory Trail Segment - Lake Whelchel. Two Kings Casino is just a 10 minute trip right up Interstate - 85, exit 5 Convenient stores/restaurants within minutes from site.

Located on family land granted by King Charles in 1685 we have worked hard to restore and refurbish in a sustainable way, using the trees and supplies from the land that they sit on. Hand crafting doors and furniture the way the family did it 140 plus years ago. The history of this place is deep, even the nails for the cabin and farm house that is now the clubhouse were hand crafted by my great grandfather in his blacksmith shop, along with the wagon wheels, horse shoes, misc farm utensils etc... there was no running out to Lowes to pick up what was needed, it was made in the blacksmith shop. We love riding ATV's and SXS's on the trails on the mountains that I grew up on with my 3 brothers, we hope the people who visit and experience the mountains feel about them the way we do, we love em. We like to give riding tours and talking about the mountain and its challenges. We named the park from the famous product that was created here during prohibition, Cherry Bounce Moonshine. You can visit some of the original still sites on the mountain, of course they are not operational today. About the adventure co side, We are an adrenaline pumping ATV and SXS park with 25+ miles of mountainous trails at four skill levels; Green (Easy), Blue (Challenging), Black Diamond (Very Difficult) and Double Black Diamond (Most Difficult). You can bring your own ATV or SXS or rent one of ours. We have cabins & camp sites that are accessed by ATV or SXS on the mountains as well as hiking or biking. We do not allow jeeps, trucks or dirt bike motorcycles on the mountain, just ATV's and SXS vehicles.
