3 nights at Little River Hideaway

We loved staying at Little River Hideaway! Such an awesome setting, especially with the new gazebo. The community garden was absolutely beautiful, and we really enjoyed having the Cedar Mountain Outpost so close for food and drink. We definitely will be back.

Weekend Trip to Linville Adventure Pasture (LAP)

Christian is a welcoming host and his sites in the pasture are wonderful. We had two families at the snail and turtle sites. The zip line and tire swing were huge hits with the kids. We watched fireflies and swam in the river. The adults tried our hand at axe throwing. The portojohn was clean, and the dish station was so helpful. Went to Fonta Flora brewery for dinner one night. Recommend all around and hope to come back.

Weekend Trip to Little River Hideaway

We loved our stay at the Little River Hideaway. It’s a nice secluded little spot with great access to DuPont and Pisgah and all the activities they have to offer. Our toddler loved wading around and exploring the river just behind the campsite and Jann was very helpful and responsive to any questions!

Weekend Trip to The Confluence

This camping spot is an absolute treasure if you’re looking for a peaceful and secluded getaway. Most of the time, it feels like you have the whole place to yourself—except for the occasional person passing through to access the river. Otherwise, it’s just you, the sounds of nature, and total calm. The river here is beautiful—clear, flowing gently, and full of fish. There’s even a small beachy area right at the edge of camp that’s perfect for launching paddleboards or just relaxing and letting the kids play. It makes for the perfect little basecamp by the water. One of the best parts? Phil, the host, went above and beyond. He actually drove us down to a drop-in spot upstream so we could float back to our campsite without the hassle of walking our boards back. The float took about two hours, and it was absolutely stunning—just lazy river time with no crowds, no noise, and plenty of wildlife. This place checks all the boxes: seclusion, riverfront fun, helpful hosts, and an easy return float. I’m definitely coming back—and bringing friends next time.

I loved that the showers had hot water! They also had portapotties available and firewood for sale. Clean drinking water was available. The primitive sites had plenty of trees for setting up hammocks but be wary of brining any tents larger then a 10'x10' space.

Site was clean and spacious. Felt private but close to plenty of amenities. Nate was very responsive to questions and worked hard to make our stay as perfect as possible. We rented the hot tub as well and it was clean and well maintained.

Had a great time...but be aware of bears. We laid in bed in our tents one night as we listened to a dog and a bear have a bit of a heated conversation! 😳

This was wonderful. Private, quiet, and comfortable. They've added all sorts of thoughtful touches, such as binoculars and a cooler with ice, to help you enjoy your stay. We didn't shower or cook only because out stay was so brief. My first time glamping rather than camping, and it was great!

this is a great spot right near the creek wonderful host and neighbors. My dog and I loved our stay here and will probably come back again. Next time I would probably book a site number six rather than four because it’s a little more level and has a bit more room but overall, it was a wonderful experience and I absolutely loved it.

Beautiful camping spot in the Ashville area with a beautiful swimming brook, swim at your own risk of course. I will definitely be back.

4 nights at Outercamp, Blue Ridge Falls Retreat

I recently stayed at Geri’s Creekside Yurt, it was such a magical experience. The yurt was super private and secluded, with the creek just about 20 feet away. The walkway to the yurt was also really accessible, almost stroller-friendly, compared to other areas that had more steps. Inside, they provided both a fan and heating, making it comfortable no matter the weather. There were also plenty of board games, books, and other games for entertainment. They had so much thought into all of the essentials provided we almost felt we overpacked! The attention to detail was amazing. Everything was thoughtfully labeled, making it easy to find your way around. Even the outhouse, which I was initially worried about, turned out to be no issue at all. The interior design was also so warming and beautiful to enjoy, even the linens and towels were thoughtfully chosen. Overall, it’s clear that so much thought and care went into creating this peaceful space, highly recommend this beautiful retreat :)

What a sweet relaxing spot! Right outside our RV was a beautiful stream - I believe an offshoot of the French Broad River? Our pup went swimming several times a day as we sat on perfect large rocks sipping wine and throwing him sticks into the water! Plenty of shade with all the beautiful trees. We’ll be back in the fall to see the changing colors. There are several short term campers here that are super nice and helpful! The people are great and the camping was even better! Thank you to Tom - what a beautiful place you have! And thank you to Travis and Carol for being wonderful neighbors!

Great spot! Very secluded but still reasonably close to all Asheville sites! Beautiful views of the night sky. The outdoor kitchen area is amazing and I couldn’t recommend more highly! Hosts are nice very responsive! Would absolutely stay again!

5 nights at Holly View Farm

I will most likely be staying here again on trips between western nc and Michigan. RV pull ins are easy and price is nice for hookups and WiFi!! Hope to have an off-road camper in the future to take advantage of one of the riverside spots 😎 It’s also quiet and the sunset was nice.

This is an incredible area. The property and site is well kept and has a gorgeous view of table rock! Quick access to table rock and other wonderful hikes and water holes. There is a local bridge with a road closure off the pumpkintown access. But there is still access in and out from dacusville hwy.

Our home was built in 1904 and we have been lovingly restoring it since 2020. The camping field is a large space behind the main house that we do not use except as a garden space. It has a small labyrinth, fire pit, and picnic table. We do have neighbors nearby and the field is pretty open as landscaping is in progress. That being said, it is a quiet community! There is a lovely view of the surrounding hills and the night sky and summer fireflies are amazing! We are part of the Big Ivy Community and 13 miles north of Asheville. Hiking, biking, rafting, rafting, ziplining and more are all nearby. We are easily accessible to all things WNC including groceries, dining, gas and main roads. We do have 2 dogs that may roam from time to time though we will try to keep them away from the field during your stay. We are happy to answer any questions and will offer as much privacy as possible…but the garden may need to be tended to!

Our farm is named for its site on the South Toe river and this pristine and mighty river indeed showed us their power during Hurricane Helene. At this time, we will be closed for an indeterminate amount of time. The farm was completely flooded by Hurricane Helene September 27th, 2024. All the greenhouses, barns, and fields were impacted and destroyed. We hope to rebuild and open again some day, but the river is completely different and the riparian camping area is now a 30 foot wall of trees at this time. We will provide guests with 5 gallon drinking jugs with a dispenser to use, and the toilet still has water to flush. But the shower, sink, tub, hose, and bidet will be shut down during these months. If you want the true off-grid experience this is it ;) We do require guests to e-sign our rental agreement that we will email to you, and request a $300 security deposit hold (not a charge) that we will release upon checkout. This was among the first places settled in the Beaver Dam area. The house was built in 1872 and the land was used for cattle. Since then, there has been a beautiful barn added to the property. We love waking up and having our morning coffee overlooking the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. There is a mountain stream coming down that has salamander and sometimes larger wildlife drinking from it. Feel free to hike up the mountain and sit atop some large boulders along the way.

James landed on the property in 2009, built a small dairy barn and milked 3 cows for a couple years before building the two cabins. In 2015 he was joined by Sofi, originally from Sweden and together they have three daughters. Together they manage a botanically interesting hobby hill farm and are happy to host travelers and seekers in their cabins. Hilltop was a joint project that James built in 2012 with a talented woodworker and friend in 6 months. We have maintained the original vibe of the place, rustic simplicity and elegance a notch or two above glamping, well-described by the zen koan, "chop wood, carry water" Orchard House was built entirely by James from the block up to the roof, averaging 1 hour/day for 3 years or 1,000 hours. Some of the Hilltop photos are a bit dated, we have a more private outhouse behind the cabin, and have made a few improvements here and there. Reach out anytime for any reason. This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company. This immaculate small cabin near Asheville is ready to treat you to a luxurious retreat experience. We are located only 15 minutes from Asheville and a few miles from the parkway, surrounded by 14 acres of forest. There is a private hot tub that is all yours! Sauna available upon request. Professional massage therapist onsite as well. The house is hand crafted with unique creative touches for your delight. We look forward to having you! This home was built in 2019 by an expert craftsman with the vision of making it cozy and spacious with sweet artistic details and lots of care and love. The home is 300 sq feet but feels much more grand inside. You will be nestled on 14 pristine acres of forest, with two decks, your own personal private hot tub, and a spring fed creek not too far down the driveway. There is a gas fireplace outdoors on the porch, and an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The house has a queen size bed in the upper loft, a large twin day bed on the first level, and an extra loft with camping mats if needed above the day bed. The house can comfortably sleep 3 and up to 4 or 5 especially if a couple of them are children or petite people. The house has a full kitchen and bathroom, living room area and two lofts. For now there is a composting toilet that is easy to maintain and we are happy to help you with it if you’re on the land for more than a few days. The main house is about 30 yards up the hill, and although somewhat close, you will have plenty of privacy. We are close if you need us, but we try to give all of our guests ultimate privacy. The house is under a huge magnolia tree, so it stays shaded in the summer and quite cool. There is an AC unit and heaters in the house as well. There is a personal hot tub, which is screened in, and located on the front deck of the house now. You will love it! There is a back deck that is only for meditation, yoga, and bird watching, and we ask that folks stay silent on the back deck if they use it. Pets are welcome at an extra charge of $40 a night. If anything is needed down at the house we are available. Much of the time there is a massage therapist on site, so if you are interested in getting Bodywork please just inquire about prices and availability. There is also a wood-fired sauna on the property, so if you would like to sauna please let us know. And an added bonus is that you are only 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and LOTS of great hiking, great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, art galleries and more. Asheville is 15 minutes from the tiny cabin and Weaverville is 10 minutes away. On any given day you might see a family a deer, turkeys or bears in the front yard. There is a spring fed creek on the edge of the property you are welcome to soak your feet in, and there is incredible hiking just a few miles away. You are welcome to explore the 13 acres of property as well that the home is located on. This is not a place for parties. Our neighbors are about 200 yards down the hill so we try to respect their privacy and keep it quiet. That is why we have made the back deck a retreat/silent deck. Maximum of 4 guests.

Mila’s Bunny Farm

Nice secluded tent campsite on an angora bunny farm. Listen to the sound of the mountain creek while you sleep, and cuddle with bunnies by the running water wheel during the day. Very relaxing spot to decompress and unplug on 7 acres that are mostly wooded. Pisgah National Forest is just two miles away with plenty of hiking to explore. The charming town of Burnsville is just 10 miles on a beautiful, scenic highway. Homeplace Brewery, Birdfoot Taproom, and Snapdragon are among the local spots to visit. Asheville is also nearby at just under an hour’s drive. The trail entrance to Big Butt is a couple miles away with a few great overlook points. If you want to do the whole 24 mile length of the trail (featuring 5 mountain peaks above 6,000ft), I can make shuttle arrangements for your party to be picked up at the end. Navitat Ziplining is very close, as well as gorgeous flower farms and Mountain Light Sanctuary to visit over in Barnardsville. Come enjoy our mountain community!

We have welcomed a number of people from across the US as well as from several other countries. We love to share our beautiful, organic farm with friends and family as well as strangers-to-friends through Hipcamp. Take a day, weekend, or week to enjoy time in our special space! Pitch your tent or set up your camper in the primary sites next to or near the creek. 360-degree views of the mountains with famous Cold Mountain and Mt Pisgah among the views to our South. There are two large fire pits for the chillier nights/mornings with a basic grate (only 1) to go over the fire for cooking. We can supply firewood, as needed, for a small fee. It's best that you request firewood when you book your site. We have access to clean water as well as flowing water in the creek. No portapotty at this time. Check out the pictures for other views. For hikers or mountain bikers: Chestnut Mountain Nature Park includes trails for both interests just 10-12 minutes away from the Farm. The Berm Park is part of this wonderful network of trails. There are also a number of other trailheads within 45 minutes of the farm to include Little Sam Knob Trailhead and the Art Loeb/Cold Mountain Trailhead off of Hwy 215 (for hikers) and Hard Times Trailhead in Asheville for bikers and hikers. Take a look around before you come for other outdoor possibilities in the area to enjoy. Learn more about this land: We live in Beaverdam Community just north of the town of Canton. We adore our land and do our best to preserve and care for the natural beauty around us. At the farm, June is firefly month and late September/October is leaf-peeping season (no need to drive to see either of those!). We have stunning views to wake up to and babbling of the creek to lull you to sleep.

Cherryfield Luxury Group Camping exceeded our expectations. The shelters and grounds were prestine and the covered platforms were definately the way to go car camping. Our tents stayed neat and the covered shelter kept us dry and cozy as we watched the rain on our second night without a fly on our tent.This campsite has thought of everything. There are grills an firepits beside each platform (each platform is large enough for 3 four person tents) and there are two common shelters with electricity and GORGEOUS bathrooms. It is funny to say, but the bathrooms were nicer than many hotels we've stayed at... large tiled shower with digital temperature controls, excellent water pressure from the large rain shower head, and, as a bonus, surround shower heads for that extra special something. I have never been excited by a shower or bathroom at a campground, but I made sure to shower before leaving because the experience was so zen. There is ample lawn space to play games, set up additional tents, and spread out for privacy, even during larger group gatherings. There are grills and grill tops by each fire pit making campfire or grill cooking easy, but delicious local restaurants just 10 minutes away also offer catering style menus that makie car camping and group gatherings even easier (the local BBQ and Italian were terrific). The grounds are meticulously kept and there are sturdy bear boxes to protect food and trash to help keep unwanted visitors from troubling guests. While we enjoyed some activities away from Cherryfied, we could have easily spent the entire weekend at the campsite. Not only are the grounds spectacular, but there is an easy walking trail to a lovely moss covered waterfall just steps away from the campgroud. The sound of the waterfall can be heard from the campground. It added ambient atmosphere and lulled us to sleep each night. The hosts were terrific and offered many suggestions for take out meals and activities. My only criticism is that the weekend went by too quickly. I did not realize how much my family needed an escape of this sort until we got the Cherryfield. I recomment Cherryfield without reservation. Take good care of this special place. We cannot wait to return.
