The White Squirrel Properties include a cabin, rental pavilion and camp site. The camp site sits at the top of a hill and provides a secluded flat site to pitch your tent or park your van/truck camper/truck top tent.
You will have this space to yourself.
The view is breathtaking - you have a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River, numerous sets of mountain ranges, and you are surrounded by beautiful fields. There is a rustic picnic table and a more modern high top table set with an umbrella, for your use. We have also added 4 hammock chairs that you can relax in while enjoying a glass of wine. There is a wooden platform with a small structure on it. You can stand underneath the platform and it can provide some shelter, if needed. (The structure is being renovated for a new experience next summer.)
The pavilion is a short walk and has 2 bathrooms, a shower, and a kitchen. **The kitchen is only available if the pavilion is not being rented**. There is an additional fee to rent the kitchen. If you are interested, please message me after booking. This can be added at checkout. Deer come out nightly on this peaceful property. You won’t be disappointed.

There are 3 campsites located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

Lovely little chapel, with beautiful old wood floors. Was a little cold at first and definitely need a bunch of wood and time to heat up. So make sure you have the right sleeping gear. Was able to cook with our pans directly on the cast iron stove. Dogs loved it and slept comfortably. Would stay again.

The Chapel is a beautiful little getaway located next to Buck Run, a refreshing creek nestled in a serene landscape of horse farms and wooded areas. You can walk right into the Laurels, a stunning 500-acre preserve of land with lovely trails to run and walk. We can highly recommend staying here!

It was great camping inside this old and charming hundreds year old cottage. The space is pretty large, and has a wood burning stove that keeps the inside warm. The property is beautiful with rolling hills and meadows, horses, woods, and a beautiful creek right behind the cottage. If you want to get into nature in a historical way this is the place for you. Also the area is filled with small historic towns and feels secluded but not very remote, so you can be in town in 10-15 minutes. Would recommend and would visit again.

This is a beautiful spot! The building is gorgeous, and seeing horses everywhere was amazing. The tables were appreciated, as was the starter pile of firewood and our host was responsive.
Staying here is lovely but prepare as though you are camping. It doesn't have any indoor amenities and the stones trap the cold. There also doesn't seem to be turnover after guests (there was a dog poop bag in the trash can when we arrived) and the road next to the chapel gets residential traffic. Also seems to be a less-than-friendly neighbor, we saw her taking pictures of the cottage while we were in it and she knocked on our door in the early morning to let us know we had dropped a napkin on the ground. Rural but not secluded.

The chapel was so rad. Did some cold plunging in the creek behind it. I'm a mariner that lives in washington and rented the chapel to be close to philadelphia for a weekend with a lady friend. It was a beautiful place to lay my head and very conveniently located for adventures in nature and the city alike. I might consider an extended stay here again in the summer. Susannah is a great host. The wood stove provided adequate heat even for my impromptu trip eith rudimentary gear.

Weekend Trip to Laureleye Farms
My partner and I stayed here and had a wonderful time. The building was warm and cozy and we loved the simplicity of its design.
We arrived after dark so finding parking was a little tricky but we figured it out without a problem. In the daylight you can clearly see signs for where to park.
The location was beautiful and had a great view of the stars. While packing up, we were greeted by a very sweet dog named Dante and got to see the horses as well.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a rustic simple and peaceful stay.
