The rich history of Burnhead Grazings is enveloped in a love for God's creation. Dr. Gib and Emmy Lou McLaughlin purchased Burnhead, which is Gaelic for the head of the stream, from William H. Stevens. The once pasture for Hilltop Dairy's cows became a pasture for sheep. Gib and Emmy had been in search of land for years after getting their first border collie and falling in love with the Shepherd lifestyle. Gib trained dozens of border collies to work the sheep and did hundreds of demonstrations highlighting the herding abilities of the collie across the country. Their love for Scotland and the border collie took them Scotland on many occasions.
Burnhead Grazings is a snapshot of Scotland, "in bye" or close to, the beautiful college town of Indiana, PA. Less than two miles from two hotels, three miles from downtown, and within minutes from Amish country, it is amazing that this respite still exists so close to civilization.
Gib and Emmy's daughter, Moire McLaughlin Bridges and her husband Randy have endeavored to bring the sheep back to Burnhead Grazings and to continue the family tradition as well as to share in the experience. You can listen to an interview on The Christian Witness Program on this page for some history about Moire and Randy in Tennessee where they were residing before coming to Indiana.
They are producing lamb, wool for spinning and felting, and hay and are opening up the farm for small events such as weddings or family reunions. Moire is also the author and illustrator of a children's book available for sale on iBooks called Sissy & The King. In November of 2014, with the help of Hilltop Baptist Church and many others, they began hosting an event, LIFE Nativity, the weekend before Thanksgiving, which benefits Life-Way Pregnancy Center.
Moire is also a fine artist and gives classes on wool felting. Ask about signing up for a class or book a private felting party.

We are Marty and Deborah. Welcome to our 40 hidden acres of paradise where we are surrounded by wildlife and raise much of our food including beef, pork, chickens and a productive garden. We have multiple campsites here from wooded to open field or by the pond so come and pick one that suits you best.
We are adjacent to the Kennerdell Tract Of Clear Creek State Forest which has miles of hiking and biking trails as well as the Allegheny River which provides fishing, boating, kayak/ canoeing opportunities. There is also The Allegheny River Trail which provides miles of paved bike trails.
What we offer: We are not a campground and do not offer multi-night stays
We are vandwellers when we are traveling. As such we understand the problems associated with finding a spot to overnight.
We offer just that, a safe, quiet stop over for the night. That being said, if you need an extra day feel free to ask, we often say yes.

Founded in 1955 as a campground, amusement park and pay to fish lake, lake lucy has a rich history of having families spending time together.
After the death of lake lucys founder Raymond Mealy in 2007 the amusements and train were all removed as well as the zoo.
The Steinman family purchased the property in 2017 and began remodeling the pavilion and putting in water and sewer lines to be able to use the campground and pavilion again.
It has been a place for the Steinman and Mealy families and friends
to enjoy for the last few years and we felt it was time to once again welcome the public to enjoy our property!
We currently have 11 sites with full hookups (water, sewer, electric(50/30/20amp).
The campground water will be turned off November 10th due to freezing temperatures. We will still have electric and sewage hookups available.

Campers can fish, bike, swim at lake lucy. They will have access to both ponds. Top pond has bass and have caught bass over 20 inches with the largest being 23 inches and over 8 pounds. Both ponds have bass, crappie, perch, bluegill, and carp. We are within a few miles of a dollar store if any supplies are needed, a gas station is at the end of the road and we are only a few minutes from cook forest as well as the tionesta reservoir. Water is available on site for campers and campers can use the bath house. In the bath house there is 1 full bathroom with a shower and the other bathroom is just a half bath. Quiet and peaceful, come relax and enjoy time with your family at lake Lucy!
we are also conveniently located close to the bike trail near clarion as well as the bike trails in cook forest and oil creek state park. If you like to ride your e bike or mountain bike we are centrally located for a great biking trip!

Seven Feathers has 6.5 acres with several wildflower and herb gardens, along with a small fruit Orchard! Our property is close to Allegheny River access with a local boat ramp in Reesdale, and a fishing pier at Lock 8. From here, you can take the locks all the way to Pittsburgh.
Several ATV trails have easy access because you can legally ride on the township roads! A lot of wildlife to see, including deer, bear, fox, coyote, several bird species, and bald eagles. We're close to State Gamelands for hunting. You're welcome to eat any fruit that has ripened here during your stay.
The miles of ATV trails are also fun to hike or ride your horse on. Campfires allowed, leashed pets allowed, must be leashed at all times, dogs, cats, and horses. Bring your pets! There is a spring with potable water on the property. Beautiful sunsets here, plus an amazing view across Reesdale Road. You might catch a rainbow too if it rains! Our personal favorite view is the vast nighttime sky. Perfect place for stargazers. Watch the beautiful sunrises and "moon-rises" over the tree tops.
You can run generators anytime, but please be considerate of other campers. Very Private location. There is a bar/restaurant close by in Adrian. It's 10 miles to downtown Kittanning, where festivals and concerts in the park are held, plus more restaurants, stores, and rails to trails for bike riders. There are fishing ponds and large glacial rock formations nearby.
Tours to the places mentioned can be scheduled for a fee if we're available. We will have a small map of the area with places marked. You're welcome to cut and use fallen trees. Please don't bring firewood from other counties due to the spread of diseases and destructive insects. Welcome to Seven Feathers, where you can just relax or partake in the recreational activities. We had a great experience at Burnhead Grazings. The two campsites were scenic and spacious. The stream site felt very private and close to farm and accessing the facilities. Moire was a gracious host and cooked us a delicious breakfast. Emmy gave an enthusiastic and informational tour of the farm and we were excited about seeing the various animals on the farm. Overall we had an excellent experience and we can't wait to come back in the future!

We enjoyed everything about Aspen Lookout. Very secluded well kept property. Loved the pond and hiking trails! Plenty of wood for your fire, even had kindling and a lighter in case you needed it. We definitely plan on coming back to this site!!

Great campsite on a lovely property. Though I got in late and left early, I was able to chat briefly with Martin and Debbie who very friendly and welcoming. Quiet and very safe. Perfect pit stop off i80 for a long road trip. Highly recommend!

We camped at the aspen overlook with our kids, dogs and our pop up camper. The property was amazing and very secluded on a high ridge overlooking the woods and pond. There were lots of hiking trails throughout the land as well. The ponds and creeks were very pretty. We brought wood but not enough, we were thankful that some was provided. The grounds are very well kept and the porta potty was very clean.

Marty and were so accommodating! We were welcomed and shown the options for parking. Our site was gorgeous. We could have stayed for a few days to check out the bike trails and hiking, but alas, we only had one night at the farm. Would definitely stay again. A bit off the beaten path, and so worth it! This campsite was a dream—beautiful overlook of the trees, super private, and plenty of space to relax. Firewood was provided, and the port-a-potty was hands-down the cleanest we’ve ever seen. Our dogs had a blast, too! Can’t wait to come back.

Loved camping at this site. Private, beautiful, quiet (except for the rooster and cows that we loved). Well stocked level site with a fire pit, chairs, wood, electric, trails and a porta potty! Loved watching wild turkeys and their chicks Five stars!! Thank you! Our first Hip Camp experience!

Really beautiful property with several campsites to choose from. Very private and rustic. There is a serviceable outhouse, fire ring and picnic table. He is working on a shower! Great place for a one-night stop.

The campsite was wonderful. Peaceful and relaxing. A bunch of extra convenience not normally expected! Numerous chairs, picnic table, extension cord, a LED pole light that you can choose to be on or off, groomed hiking/ side-by-side trails, porta-potty, firewood box with kindling, lighter fluid, newspaper, and lighters! Even a distant donkey could be heard. Beautiful overlook deck and nice grass (no flowering weeds for bees). Occasional motor noises but did not interfere.

Everything about this camping destination is special. The ambiance of the environment is hard to beat, we stayed adjacent to the stream and tied our hammocks up right alongside the water. We enjoyed our conversation with Moire and with Randy and our dog had a fun play session with their dogs. We forgot to make our way to the swing overlooking the pond but next time we visit we'll be sure to remember. You won't regret staying here, what a treat!

The farm plot is a stunning property with a beautiful pond. Proximity to Indiana is only 3 miles, with the Hoodlebug cycling trail very close by. Wish we could have spent more time there!

I almost don't want to write a glowing review so I can keep this camping spot all to myself! The spot was very well secluded and quiet. The grass was mowed and VERY little bugs, like none. Plenty of level space for car camping (I sleep in my full-size SUV) and the pine trees in the same camp spot are great for hammocks. The campsite layout is like a horseshoe with plenty of shade along the border but an open spot in the center for star gazing. The fire pit was a great size and plenty of dry firewood was provided. There was even kindling, dry packing paper, lighter fluid and a lighter! Plenty of comfy plastic chairs for around the fire and a fullsize picnic table. The porta-potty was very clean and hand sanitizer bottle was full.
The evening was very quiet and peaceful. Of the 6-7 camp spots I've been to, this is my favorite BY FAR. You won't be disappointed. 11/10 stars

I really enjoyed staying on Don’s land! It was quiet and private. There are many trails on the property which give a great opportunity to explore the woods while staying close by. Lot of bird and wildlife to be heard and seen. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

Group trip
We had a great weekend at Bill and Nancy’s. Bill would swing by daily and check to see if we needed anything. We were in the large group spot. We had a group of 15, and we weren’t crowded. The only downside? Mosquitos! Overall; nice spot, truly nice host! We would camp there again.
