Gordon Glen Woods is nestled in the picturesque Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania and is an eight-acre wooded land adjacent to 8,200 acres of state game land and is 1.5 miles from two trailheads of the Ghost Town Trail, Pennsylvania’s trail of the year 2020. We have two campsites that can accommodate campers up to 30 feet and are easily accessible yet secluded. Both campsites include a fire ring, free first load of firewood, a table, and close access to the Bathroom Bungalow that contains a composting toilet, mirror, and plenty of room to change. There is no running water or electricity. A convenient dump station, located at Yellow Creek Campground, is only 8 miles on Rt. 422.
Enjoy a nature walk trail around the property. Avid and novice birdwatchers will enjoy the sounds of the wood thrush and more than 25 species on our wooded property.
Robert Gordon Violin Maker’s studio is on site. Tours are available to learn about the history of violin making, and if your timing is right, enjoy an old-time music circle jam most weekends. Visit Robert Gordon III Violin Maker for more information.

Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer.
We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities.
Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups.
On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards.
For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent.
Campers must be less than 25 feet.
Generators are not allowed.
Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm.
There are no water hookups.
Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons.
Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350.
Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them.
Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance.
We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Terrific little campground. Linda was there to meet us and explained the lay of the land. Site was large and clean. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Yes, you can hear the noise from the highway. But we knew that beforehand. We had an event in Tyrone and this was a great and affordable stay for us.

This is truly a perfect spot! Very private and quiet, our dogs loved the freedom! Level, gravel area for our 26’ toy hauler. BEAUTIFUL sunsets! Yvonne is a responsive host. This was our 2nd visit and we will definitely be back next year!

We stayed at Site 30- despite many reviews complaining about road noise, it truly wasn’t noticeable, and quieted down considerably in the early evening. Bathrooms were clean and in good condition, wood and dumpster were easy to access. We’ll be back!

This was a great site. Would definitely recommend it and go out of our way to come here again. The directions were easy to follow, it was fun to paddle around in the lake and we caught a fish. The dogs loved it as well.

Great little site. The campsite is very rustic. No frills. Just a place to set up camp. The Rhododendrons were really amazing. We can in after dark. Had some challenges getting to the site. (Bare right just after the shower facilities). This is a pets allowed sight which meant dogs barking all night, which was the only negative. We’d definitely sat here again.

We came back for another stay at Riverside RV Camper Site, and it was just as peaceful and relaxing as we remembered. We enjoyed daily walks along the rarely traveled road that winds along the river. Evenings were spent relaxing by the fire watching the trains off in the distance.
It’s a great location for exploring nearby towns like Belleville, Reedsville, and Lewistown, all offering great little shops, restaurants, and local attractions.
The campground itself remains clean, quiet, and well-kept. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay with easy access to small-town charm and scenic views, Riverside RV is a wonderful choice.

It is a very lovely and picturesque camping spot. I would definitely go there again. You are surrounded by farm country in front and the mountain behind you. Gorgeous!!! I will say that you should be prepared for the Spotted Lantern Flies. That is not Yvonne’s fault, it’s just the current insect nuisance. They don’t bother humans though.
I camped alone but I felt completely safe there. So peaceful. Just what I needed. Thank you Yvonne!!!

This spot was great. So convenient to have access to the showers and bathroom. And so peaceful by the stream. Only downside is the closeness of the road but the access to the road and convenience store makes it worth it. Linda was so helpful when she first greeted me at the site as well!

Site number 12 is right next to a lovely pond. It’s so beautiful and peaceful and the electric is close to a perfect place to put the tent.
Just a short walk to the very clean bathrooms, and a short walk to the convenience store with 24 hour hot food available.

We had a great time at site 30! The sites are closer together than what the map shows but they are still pretty private if you find the right ones. You will hear a lot of road noise at site 30 but if you don’t mind that, it’s perfect for an electric site and it’s close to the showers/bathrooms. The owners were so sweet and took us to our site and told us everything we needed to know! The showers and bathrooms were pretty nice but they have mold growing and could use a good scrub. They were nice and hot though! Beautiful grounds! Walking distance to dollar general and a nice gas station/grill. We would love to go back and find a site further into the woods. Thank you!

This campsite was perfect! It’s private, it’s spacious, there’s an outhouse, picnic tables, and a fire pit. Yvonne responded quickly to any requests or questions we had. It was a perfect site to hang out in nature and just relax.
