We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

Evensong Farm is a preserved historic farm adjacent to the Antietam National Battlefield. We have set up two, almost identical, sites on a 60 acre parcel of our farm which is very private for our campers, but allows access to the lovely Antietam Creek. The sites themselves are about 500 feet apart so, while they maintain privacy when booked by different parties, can also be booked together for group stays. We have been hosting campers at our "glampsites" since 2021. Each off-grid site has a 12x16 platform with a 10x12 canvas side wall tent, a firepit and chairs, a cooking area with a grill and sink for washing up, a picnic table and benches, and a private bathroom with a composting toilet and solar shower bag. The main tent is set up for 2 people, although 4 is possible. The sites can handle a max of 12 people, with the use of additional tents (BYO or you can set up some of ours). We provide an electronic camp guide to all of our campers that include our recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as camping tips and other handy info. Inside the tent you will find a queen size bed, side tables, and a cafe table and chair set. We have put down foam flooring and a carpet for your comfort and provide numerous battery powered lights, lanterns and fans. In cold months we can add a propane heater to keep the chill away. We also have some games, maps of the area, decks of cards, and a fire extinguisher. Stepping outside the tent you'll find our long rainfly creates a covered porch where you can relax on our provided chairs. There are additional chairs around the firepit and each firepit has a cooking grate so you can cook over your campfire. We provide one bundle of firewood (including kindling) per night with your reservation. We do sell additional firewood, if needed. In our kitchen area you will find a picnic table and chairs, 5 gallons of drinking water, a clean up table that includes a foot operated pump sink with an additional 5 gallons of washing water, a grill (one site has propane and the other has charcoal), trash and recycling bins, grill tools, lighters, plus dish and hand soaps. Our farm is a mile and a half from the town of Sharpsburg, MD, home of the Antietam National Battlefield (and Nutter's Ice Cream Shop). You will find the Appalachian Trail to our east and the C&O Canal to our west (10 minute drive to either).

The land hosts some animals - a goat, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks while growing medicinal plants, seasonal edible berries/fruits (wineberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, mulberries, elderberries, vine kiwi, pawpaw, etc.) and rocks (plenty of them). There is a couple of acres enclosed with an electric fence where the livestock guardian dog (Luna) roams with the animals. We also sell farm fresh eggs. Fern Yabin is a rustic hard sided yurt style cabin that has hot and cold water, composting toilet, outdoor shower (cold water only), a indoor soaking tub, hot water kettle, an outdoor propane grill, ceiling fan, outdoor patio and fire pit, skylight, WiFi, and lots of character. The Yabin was a true labor of love built as a collective effort in community. There is a designated parking spot and a gravel path (moderate decline) that leads down to the Yabin. If you are a thru hiker, drop off and pick up is available for a fee. Please inquire upon booking. We are 10 minutes to the Appalachian Trail (Weverton Cliffs/Gathland SP and Crampton Gap) and the Potomac/Shenandoah Rivers (great for tubing/kayaking/wading/swimming). There are outdoor outfitters within 15 minutes where all kinds of wonderful adventures await including a brewery with a stunning vista of the river and area. We are 15 minutes away from historic Harpers Ferry. Antietam National Battlefield and other historic sites are within 30 minutes. For amazing dining opportunities and small city life - Frederick, MD, Boonsboro, MD, Brunswick, MD, Shepherdstown, WV and Charles Town, WV are about a 30 min drive. We are also close to several state parks in the tri state area (MD, VA, WV). Evensong Farm is a preserved historic farm adjacent to the Antietam National Battlefield. We have set up two, almost identical, sites on a 60 acre parcel of our farm which is very private for our campers, but allows access to the lovely Antietam Creek. The sites themselves are about 500 feet apart so, while they maintain privacy when booked by different parties, can also be booked together for group stays. We have been hosting campers at our "glampsites" since 2021. Each off-grid site has a 12x16 platform with a 10x12 canvas side wall tent, a firepit and chairs, a cooking area with a grill and sink for washing up, a picnic table and benches, and a private bathroom with a composting toilet and solar shower bag. The main tent is set up for 2 people, although 4 is possible. The sites can handle a max of 12 people, with the use of additional tents (BYO or you can set up some of ours). We provide an electronic camp guide to all of our campers that include our recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as camping tips and other handy info. Inside the tent you will find a queen size bed, side tables, and a cafe table and chair set. We have put down foam flooring and a carpet for your comfort and provide numerous battery powered lights, lanterns and fans. In cold months we can add a propane heater to keep the chill away. We also have some games, maps of the area, decks of cards, and a fire extinguisher. Stepping outside the tent you'll find our long rainfly creates a covered porch where you can relax on our provided chairs. There are additional chairs around the firepit and each firepit has a cooking grate so you can cook over your campfire. We provide one bundle of firewood (including kindling) per night with your reservation. We do sell additional firewood, if needed. In our kitchen area you will find a picnic table and chairs, 5 gallons of drinking water, a clean up table that includes a foot operated pump sink with an additional 5 gallons of washing water, a grill (one site has propane and the other has charcoal), trash and recycling bins, grill tools, lighters, plus dish and hand soaps. Our farm is a mile and a half from the town of Sharpsburg, MD, home of the Antietam National Battlefield (and Nutter's Ice Cream Shop). You will find the Appalachian Trail to our east and the C&O Canal to our west (10 minute drive to either).

Fern Yabin is a rustic hard sided yurt style cabin that has hot and cold water, composting toilet, outdoor shower (cold water only), a indoor soaking tub, hot water kettle, an outdoor propane grill, ceiling fan, outdoor patio and fire pit, skylight, WiFi, and lots of character. The Yabin was a true labor of love built as a collective effort in community. There is a designated parking spot and a gravel path (moderate decline) that leads down to the Yabin. If you are a thru hiker, drop off and pick up is available for a fee. Please inquire upon booking. We are 10 minutes to the Appalachian Trail (Weverton Cliffs/Gathland SP and Crampton Gap) and the Potomac/Shenandoah Rivers (great for tubing/kayaking/wading/swimming). There are outdoor outfitters within 15 minutes where all kinds of wonderful adventures await including a brewery with a stunning vista of the river and area. We are 15 minutes away from historic Harpers Ferry. Antietam National Battlefield and other historic sites are within 30 minutes. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin! I communicated with Peggy through the HipCamp app, and she was very responsive and helpful. When we arrived, Tony met us at the parking area, showed us to the cabin, and took the time to explain how everything worked. He was incredibly kind, accommodating, and genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great experience. The cabin itself was spotless, rustic, and very cozy — exactly what we were hoping for. It has just the right amount of amenities: a small fridge, microwave, toaster oven, running water, and just enough hot water for a quick shower. The outdoor shower was one of our favorite parts — it felt peaceful and refreshing every time we used it. Before our trip, we asked if there was a way to cook outside, and Tony went above and beyond. He actually built a wonderful fire pit setup designed for cooking, which we used every day. It was such a fun and memorable part of our stay, and Tony even provided all the firewood we could possibly need. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and surrounded by about one to two miles of lovely hiking trails. It was quiet, private, and felt like our own little hideaway in nature. Tony gave us plenty of space while still being available if we needed anything. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a cozy, peaceful escape!

Loved this place! We got in late, but Maria was very responsive, and the directions were super easy. Wish we could’ve stayed longer because the site and accommodations were amazing! She had plenty of supplies (lights, chargers, firewood, water, etc) and the romance package was so cute ❤️ The tent is not bug proof, so some bugs (spiders and moths mainly) got in, but once the lights were out, they didn’t both us at all! Hope to return for a longer stay!

In a nutshell, we loved the Yabin! The property is very laid-back and accessible. The cozy outside area with a fire pit and seating area is right outside the door of the Yabin. It is much bigger and more sturdy than we imagined. So much space with many nice touches. The woodstove kept everything nice and cozy overnight. The beds were so comfortable! Andrea could not be more accommodating and she is very communicative. If you decide to book, before you pack for your trip, make sure you check with Andrea. She really has thought of just about everything you will need. I can’t wait to go back!

We loved our stay at Gracie’s Place. It’s a rustic and romantic cabin tucked in the woods, perfect for a quiet weekend escape. The host was incredibly thoughtful—he had everything we needed ready for us, including paper towels, water, firewood, and even a wine bottle opener. The cabin itself was cozy and charming. The bed was very comfy and the personal balcony gave us a sense of tranquility, surrounded by nature. It felt peaceful and remote while still being close enough to town and stores for quick trips. The only drawback is there’s a house nearby with a partial view into the curtainless window which took away a bit of our privacy. Still, the atmosphere was romantic and relaxing overall and we’d absolutely recommend this stay.

Both sites at Evensong were just wonderful for our 2 families, and Julie was a perfect host. The tents were very comfortable, the sites were very picturesque, and the grounds were perfect (and safe) for letting the kids run around and have adventures. We were particularly impressed with how well-appointed the sites were in terms of things like lanterns, kitchen equipment, and lots of other little details to make the stay more comfortable.

The tents were very comfortable, there was ample space for kids to safely run around and have adventures, and the property was very picturesque. We had such a wonderful stay at Matt’s cabin! It perfectly blends the charm of the outdoors with the comfort of essential amenities. The setting was peaceful and secluded, surrounded by trees and nature sounds. The owner’s house was close behind but we didn’t hear any noise and everything still felt very private. He made sure we had everything we needed and showed us where to get firewood. We loved sipping coffee on the porch in the morning and stargazing by the fire at night. Even though it felt “off the grid,” everything was clean, comfortable, and easy to use — from the bathroom setup in the parking area and outdoor kitchen, to the heat/AC and hot shower! You can tell Matt put a lot of care into making guests feel welcome and at home. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway that offers both rustic charm and a touch of glamping, this cabin is it. We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Tiny House on the Potomac
Very picturesque setting near an eclectic town. I went there by myself, no pets are allowed and it was everything I had hoped for. It was the last day of a week long trip and it is worth staying for multiple days. Views and cabin amenities are numerous and would recommend to future travelers.
