Hello. My name is Tamara and my husband is Andy. We bought this place in 2022 with the goal of raising animals humanely and providing good food options to purchase at reasonable prices. After moving to Ontario I noticed there are not many good options for nighttime sleep. I fondly remember camping with our kids in a location we named Neverland. We decided we wanted to create that for people. That’s why we joined Hipcamp. We have several sites that range from close to the house and bathroom access to remote in a field with the sounds of the creek to lull you to sleep. To increase safety and aid in positive memory making, only one group is allowed at a time. We have lots of space so whether you are a lone traveler, a family, or a group of friends looking to make memories consider staying with us and our animals. We generally have goats, chickens, and pigs. From July to October, we often have pheasants. This year we do not so I can do repairs to the small coop. Look us up on Facebook under Micone Ranch. Our driveway is immediately off Ontario Heights Rd. Google tells people to turn on Grand View Lane. There is no access to our property from that direction. We have a 300-gallon trash bin next to our mailbox that says camp host. Our driveway is immediately across the road from there. The bridge at the entrance to our property is 11' wide, which should allow a standard 8' RV to pass into the property. RV hook up is right off the driveway by the power pole. Ground is in its native form and only gets minimal rain. Some weeds and goatheads may be present. A small, creek runs through the front of the property year-round. Water is clearer during the winter and spring months. The spots I have cleared in this area are small. I recommend tent camping in this area. It is densely wooded. We have goats in this field; they are shy. We have goat treats available for sale if you would like to feed them. Oregon has an invasive, poisonous weed called Water hemlock. If you camp in this area, familiarize yourself with this plant so you can avoid it. Camping areas have been cleared of this plant. If you wander along the creek, you will encounter it.

This area has a lot of history. Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe often stayed in this area and on the property. In fact this was where his tribe met to discuss and decide to try to go to escape to Canada. This is where that journey started. You can still find arrow heads on the shoreline every so often. I’m ruffly 15 miles north of Huntington oregon. 13 miles of which is dirt road. The property sits at the base of lookout mountain. Really good cell service here with Verizon Full bars. If you decide to come camp make sure your directions take you through Huntington. Google sometimes likes to try to get people to drive over the mountain. Or if your coming from the north it sometimes wants you to go through Richland and then on 34 miles of dirt road. Going Through Huntington onto snake river rd is the easy way to go.

There is a public boat launch a short distance from us for access to the Weiser River. The RV hookup is next to a small fenced fruit orchard/garden designed to keep deer out. You will have a 30 AMP hookup and water—no dump. The nearest dump site is 8 miles away at the fairgrounds in Cambridge, ID. Every year on Memorial Day weekend, the annual Weiser River Wagon Train and Ride passes through Midvale, camping overnight in the town park with their horses and wagons. In April, there may be a cattle drive right through Main Street, just a block away. In July, the town hosts a Fourth of July parade. Small-town living at its best—quiet, restful, and a great place to stop overnight or stay awhile.

Weekend Trip to Butterfield Farms

What a wonderful spot to lay our heads for the night. It’s tucked away behind the home and small farm but near town, so dinner is walkable if you venture out (try Cook Shack!). We were able to plug in our little camper for AC in the almost 100-degree weather… we slept soundly in this quiet spot. Also, the sheep are sweet and the owners are kind and responsive. On our way out, we enjoyed coffee and pastry at Sweet Roots Bakery.

The host was super kind and helpful! She lent us a car jack and gave us useful local tips. The farm and camp site are pretty and quiet. We bought some lamb shankscwhich were awesome! We were conveniently located 20 minutes from Nampa which has grocery stores, gas, repair shops and all the other services you might need. We were there to bird in the Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area which was also super close. It was a very pleasnt stay!

We overnighted here and would do so again. There was weather coming in when we arrived, but Amy ran out to greet us nonetheless. So five stars for the good communication and a safe place to stay for the night. Our 24' travel trailer fit in nicely. You could back in but we found it easier to pull in and then back out onto the road.

As a solo female traveler, safety is key and I felt quite safe on Amy’s site. Amy was also incredibly responsive and accommodating. The view overlooking the city was great and the sunrise was even better. Would return.

The host was very friendly and helpful. I needed assistance guiding my little trailer into the driveway and she willingly helped. The driveway is plenty wide and you are able to park all the way in giving a sense of privacy and ample distance from quiet road in front. The driveway is level too. All in all a good rest stop! Thank you!

3 nights at Rex & Cate's Hobby Farm

Catherine is a very Fine Host. And her place is accommodating and roomy. She also has a water hose that's long enough to reach your Trailer. Which was nice. Although not level, experienced RV'ers,(unlike me) can remedy that. It's close to the street, which doesn't bother me a lot.(LA Traffic) She has a Beautiful Place. And was very close to where I had something to do. Thank You.
