Learn more about this land: One mile from I-5, you may pitch your tent or park your van in a meadow near some fir trees bordering Elk Creek. Feel the restful flow of water bringing tranquility.  Follow hiking trails along the creek, through groves of trees, or play in the singing creek. There is another hiking trail to another portion of the creek to the right of the road that passes by the barn. A sign on an oak tree indicates the edge of the large mowed meadow that will take you to another sign for the trail to the creek. When entering the property at the county road, you’ll see a big Century Farm sign on the left at the driveway entrance. Continue past a brown machine shed. You will see two apple trees on your left. Just beyond the apple trees is a sign, on a big fir tree. This sign points to the direction of the campsite. Shaped like an arrow it points to the mowed path down to the creek and campsite which you may drive. Uphill from the campsite is a trail going through a small copse of trees that leads up to the red barn. On the left, at the entrance to the barn, is a bathroom complete with sink and shower. Towels are not provided. Beneath the apple trees is a faucet with potable drink safety hose and a bucket for your use.

We absolutely love Cathryn's beautiful hipcamp on the Umpqua River in Roseburg. We went in late October so the weather was chilly and it rained a lot but we made the best of it. We had the entire campground to ourselves and just a few steps away from the most breathtaking river scene. My son enjoyed fishing and saw many huge salmon but unfortunately he didn't catch one next time perhaps. We have a 31ft RV and our friends had a smaller RV there are no hookups but that's how we love and enjoy camping. It is very peaceful with wild turkeys that ventured into our camps. There are no strict rules on dogs off leash which are pups love to explore and run around and frolic in the water it was amazing. Cathryn came by once to introduce herself and to answer any questions that we may have had. She also mentioned that they are going to do some improvements to the camp to get down to the water more accessible. Its all a work in process but it's beautiful just the way it is. We can't wait to book for the summer because there are many deep pools there to swim in. The only suggestion that I would have would be to move the front gate further down so that when you pull out of the gate you're not on the main road where it could potentially be dangerous. To be honest I really don't want to say too many great things about this place lol because we would love it to remain a secret 😜 It is definitely in the books for springtime. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

David was very helpful when I arrived, there was plenty of beautiful open space to choose from. Right off the highway, but without highway noise. I had the pleasure of meeting a cow that passed right by my tent:) There is a small bar/restaurant a few miles up the road that was quaint and hospitable for dinner. I would definitely stay there again passing through on a road trip!

The view from our spot was awesome.. thousands of crickets at night..and the night sky was breathtaking..trailer camping on the hill is recommended a few areas for tent camping. On the hill area it is very open with a few spruce trees.very nice for the price..

Lovely site. Lots of options we found a site under the Hawthorne trees need the river. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, it might be less desirable if there more campers. Some sites are a little too open for my taste esp since it was quite warm the day we arrived. Porta potty was very clean. River access clearly marked and a dip in the cold water made the heat more bearable.

We loved this place! The natural beauty of the land and river is just fantastic. We made camp right by the river access trail. It was a very hot day and after a long drive, the river was a delightful way to cool off! We along with our dog swam and played in the water for quite a while decompressing from the day’s journey. Cathryn came and welcomed us and made sure we felt at home. We will definitely come back on our way up north. This was a perfect spot for our sprinter van as access was very easy.

Easy access to the beautiful Umpqua River! A couple of campsites in the shade but plenty around the property. A pretty mellow stay even with as many people as were booked there. Blackberry bushes EVERYWHERE, yuuuum!!! Please respect the no fire rules and this beautiful property, saw a bunch of deer and their babies! A magical place indeed & the host was so sweet.

Highly recommend this clean, well maintained camping spot. With only 3 sites it is peaceful and quiet. Owner is friendly and brought us flowers and fruit. Perfect spot to explore Elkton and the coast. Large sites and lots of shade. Beautiful creek a few steps away with wildlife.

This place reminded me of why I bought my camper van: solitude and natural beauty. This former orchard (pear?) right along the Umpqua River was nearly empty and wonderfully quiet. Oddly enough, someone drove in at 10:30 pm, camped sort of nearby, and drove off before we woke up. Other than that, it was perfect.

Weekend Trip to Applegate Century Farm

Lovely little secluded spot with creek access and a very nice bathroom. It was easy to get to, easy to park, within cell service, and our reactive dog was able to relax without a lot of other campers around. We also took the opportunity to learn about the land and the Applegate ancestors while we were there - it's an important part of Oregon and Kalapuya history!
