Our location gets ample sunshine most days and is surrounded on 3 sides by a forest of trees. The property is fenced and access is by gate. There are two seperate campsites which are separated by our central garden and bamboo plantings. There is very little street traffic before 9 AM and after 4 PM Mon-Sat. Sundays are quiet. Both sites can use the portable toilet and outdoor shower. We keep it clean and odor free for a sanitary camping experience. Bring your bikes, boards and outdoor gear! Many adventures to be had here on the central coast. Your hosts are avid surfers and cyclists and can help direct you to the best spots to match your skill level. The property is close to town as well as bike loops, gravel roads and trails. We're also close to the beach. Within a short drive surfers of all levels can find something fun to ride nearly everyday of summer and fall. The 18 hole golf course is just down the street from the property and the town of Waldport is 2 miles away. Yachats is a short 12 minute drive to the south where you can find amazing restaurants where they serve fresh roasted coffee along with a large menu of drinks and treats at places such as The Green Salmon Cafe. White sand beaches are located just down the hill from us where you can walk all the way from the mouth of the Alsea river to the mouth of the Yachats river. Forested and easily accessible walking trails are also nearby. South of the property is Cape Perpetua - a natural wonderland with whales, tide pools, blowholes and a 26 mile trail system. Please be careful when using Google maps, for whatever reason it has taken several people to other places other than mine. I posted a picture of the entrance of my property, hopefully this will help. Hurlys Hideaway is a very nice location located approximately 2 miles from the town of Tillamook. Very close to the beach Sand Lake various Rivers for fishing kayaking swimming Etc. Approximately 4 MI from Netarts Oceanside area, Netarts Bay, Cape Mears. A very nice location to be able to access all of these activities in Tillamook County. My land is Timber, some clearings, we'll see how this goes I'm just getting started. Also, I just learned that the transient tax for Tillamook Oregon is an additional 10% and I hate to do this but I'm going to have to raise my prices $5. If you are coming from Town, I'm 2 mi. from the hospital west on hwy. 131. Look for the purple Minnesota Vikings bus shack. I also put up a hipcamp sign just up my driveway a bit. If you are coming from the south on Fraiser road, turn right when you come to hwy. 131. I'm less than a quarter mile on your left. Also a heads up lately I've had a few people that are having a hard time booking and I learned from another camper if you're staying one night you actually have to select two days it includes the day you check out I just experienced that with another camper so just a bit information I don't know if hip camp changed something or what, but if you're staying one night select two days and it'll work.

Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing a user maintained hiking/mountain biking trail with 1.5, 3, 5 and 7 mile loop options. Other nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Access to the Alsea River is located 1.5 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road or at nearby Clemmons Park. The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts. The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few or many spiders, slugs and other bugs. There are occasional bunnies, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards. The barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.

If arriving in two vehicles, coordinate timing or walk your party in You’ll park near our greenhouse and home, where you may see chickens, a kiddo on the play structure, or hear a tractor. Campsites are deeper in the woods and often feel totally private. A seasonal creek flows nearby. Depending on the time of year, you might spot wild mushrooms, huckleberries, and more. The beach is about a 15-minute walk, including a short stretch along Highway 101. It’s walkable but may feel exposed to some. Yachats, the 804 Trail, and Cape Perpetua are all nearby. This land once held a WWI-era spruce logging camp. We’ve lived here since 2013, slowly transforming bramble into trails, gardens, and space to grow. Our son is a cancer survivor, and our connection to this land runs deep. We’re not a commercial farm - we’re a family practicing stewardship, slow living, and welcoming guests who do the same. We love hosting quiet campers, nature lovers, foragers, backwoods hikers, and families who understand personal space and come prepared. If that’s you, you’ll feel right at home.

This property is owned by the Dauenhauer family and was initially operated as a multi-functional farm raising a thousand acres in various crops. In the early 1980's the family began planting grapes on the property and now the vineyard is the predominate feature for the farm. Most of the vineyard production is sold to wineries located across the state, however the family does retain a small amount of grapes each year for their private wine label "Hauer of the Dauen". Tad and Alanna met me at my arrival for a quick get-to-know and what was needed. Semi-private camp spot was close to chickens, but surprisingly they were not noisy (thankfully no rooster that I heard). Spot is off the main road so only road noise was passing neighbor cars. Crab apple trees were ripe for picking, blackberries already finished. I spent my daytime hours away from camp spot and at the McMinnville Highland Games Festival where I was competing in heavy athletics. On my departure day, I received a thank you note expressing interest in the Highland Games after meeting me and stating that their family was their watching me, which added a nice personal touch to the visit.

Weekend Trip to Paradise Island Farmstead

This was a great place to stay while in the area for some wine tasting. Property was as described with a nicely mowed area for the car and camper. We had a wonderful quiet evening seeing a rainbow over the fields and peaceful morning sipping on coffee while watching the sun rise above the fog. We were even able to grab a couple apples from their trees (with permission) that we cooked up with our pancake breakfast!
