Play in Hood River during the day, relax in the country at night. We're 6.5 miles up in the hills, called High Prairie, above the sleepy town Lyle.
Enjoy the peace on our 5 acre hideaway, wake up with the chickens.
Take a walk to look at Mt. Adams which is just around the corner. Hiking, biking, kite boarding, windsurfing all within a few miles of reach with never ending opportunities to get your exercise. Just ask for tips.
The land has mostly Oak trees where you can take your nap in your hang matt. The place is easy accessible, far away from all but still close to all Gorge attractions during the day. The town has a nice little convenience store, country cafe, Chinese restaurant, and new to our town "Confluence Cafe" right at the entrance by the Klickitat River - Awesome views - yummy treats and coffee. Matt and Ali are super cool, go check it out.
Grocery shopping is best done in Hood River, White Salmon or
The Dalles. Once up here, there isn't much, so come prepared.

We are new stewards and first-time homeowners of this serene, 10.5 acre homestead. 'Modern' human development on this land first began in old logging days in the early 1900s and old logging access road still runs through the center of our property. When we purchased this land in 2020, we knew we were investing in a real 'fixer-upper'.
Our property sustained massive damage in a 2025 wild fire, so we have a zero tolerance policy if burn ban is violated. During your visit, look for signs of fire damage around the property. Some of our previous trails and lookout zones were destroyed. But, please feel free to still wander around and be mindful of erosion, especially up the hill. What changes and regeneration can you spot??
The original Buckminster Fuller geodome home was built back in the 1970s, and the outbuildings and garden spaces were later added on as the property changed hands over the decades. By the time we landed here, however, the home was in severe state of neglect. As we continue to care for and restore this home and land, we aim to use environmentally sustainable practices to minimize our impact on the land while upcycling, recycling, and re-using anything we can in the process!

We loved out stay here and Chris was so pleasant and checked on us several times through out our stay. He even filled our fresh water tank in the camper. We felt safe and the kids were able to ride bikes and roam the land safely without any worries. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend to everyone! Weekend Trip to The Forest Cupcake
This is such a special place! My husband and I stayed at the Forest Cupcake for a long weekend to celebrate one ten year anniversary and it was so relaxing, cozy, and refreshing. Irene and Bill have really added all the special touches and creature comforts to level up the camping experience! It’s so quiet and beautiful and on top of everything else, the most epic sunset spot of all time is just a short walk up the hill! 10/10 recommend!!

We had 3 amazing days at Pine Hollow hosted by John. John has been very welcoming and helpful with advice around the area. He sent us to the best places to get on the lake and for a bike tour to visit the waterfalls and river shores. The camp site was very quiet and spacious with a good combination of sunny and shaded areas. We enjoyed the fireplace and the warm (outdoor!) shower. It was the perfect location to kick-off our camp season.

Wonderful and relaxing river sounds. Wonderful bird watching. Very clean and level. Site 11 and 10 are not oriented very well. Site 10 backs up so far that the view is blocked except a bit to the left, and mostly behind and to the right with trees. Neighbor in 10 sewer is just a couple feet from picnic table although outlet is father up front. Site 10’s “business end” just too close.

Amazing! The tent is nestled into the woods, and with the bistro lights, it makes for a very peaceful and romantic evening! The open faced tenting makes you feel like you are camping outside but are still warm and covered. Host is super responsive, and they have the sweetest, most curious cat who paid us a few visits. We have fulll intentions of returning when we come back for our work conference in Portland next year!

I did enjoy my stay. They are still working on the sites but it was totally fine for my purposes which was to fish the lake. I would suggest a little clearer directions to the actual campsite. The address is shown as 134 however there are actually three 134 addresses, 134A, 134B, and 134C which is the address you want. I pulled into 134A which is a private drive, had to back out and continue down the road to 134C driveway. No arrows directing to the actual site. Keep in mind this is just a two site RV park so somebody may not be available when you call for directions. There is a shower and they made a water spigot available as well as electrical. People are very nice and helpful.
