David’s property has all the amenities you need and nothing you don’t. Starlink, compost toilet outhouse, fire ring and picnic table. The quiet at night was incredible and helped foster a great nights sleep. There was a small hiccup on arrival (a tree had fallen across the driveway) but David was quick to reply and we were able to figure out a way in. Great spot for a little rest and relaxation!

Irene's yurt was super cozy and unique. Even with it being sub-freezing outside the fireplace kept us warm (just make sure to bring plenty of firewood during the winter!). Directions were very clear and Irene was very welcoming. We would definitely visit again.

We had such a wonderful winter Adventure at the cupcake. We really enjoyed hiking around the property and the sun sets were absolutely breathtaking. Irene was very flexible and accommodating. We highly recommend this hip camp and will return.

We stayed 2 nights in the yurt for an agyer Christmas getaway and it was perfect! The wood stove kept us so toasty through the chilly nights-- we woke up to the owls in the morning. Everything was just as explained and the host was amazing and so friendly! We were able to have peaceful family time without wifi and just playing games and eating good food! We are off the grid kind of campers, so we even showered in the outhouse in December! What a cool touch that was to the place!
The yurt was super comfy and cozy with just the basics but everything you needed for off the grid experience. We would 100% stay again. Thank you for the beautiful weekend!

Weekend Trip to Retired DNR Fire Watch Cabin
If being off grid isnt your cup of tea then this cabin probably isnt for you but we love it. One of our favoright things about staying here is that there is very little to no cell service and wifi only if you want to hook up to it. We love being off grid and having quality family time to interact with eachother with out the distractions of cell phones or tv. No power no problem for us! This is our favoright family get away spot by far.

Weekend Trip to Antelope Basecamp
The campground in Antelope Basecamp was wonderful. Cabin accommodations and all amenities (bathrooms, showers, pavilion, wifi) exceeded our expectations and made for a lovely weekend of stargazing and exploring. We would absolutely go back.

Weekend Trip to Antelope Basecamp
We stayed in A-frame #5 in early December. It hovered around freezing for most of our stay, but the room was warm, well-lit, had plenty of outlets, and pretty solid wi-fi. We brought a folding table and some board games and had a great time. The bathrooms and shower were clean and well-maintained. Weekend Trip to Lefever Holbrook Ranch
Absolutely stunning campsite I would recommend to any one any time of year. We spent two nights here and are planning to come back later next year. Extremely friendly camp host and beautiful views of the mountains.

Weekend Trip to The Forest Cupcake
Irene's place is pure magic. I've stayed at some pretty unique and amazing Hip Camps, but this was most definitely in the top two. The yurt itself is so comfortable and cozy; nothing like what you would get at a state park. The wood stove kept us warm all night, and the bed/sheets/pillows were heavenly. We unfortunately had an overcast night, so we didn't get to enjoy the stars (although I have no doubt that this would be a phenomenal stargazing location), but we did get to fall asleep to the sounds of owls all around us. Irene has put so many little touches into her property/yurt that make it feel like you are in another land, yet you're so close to the adorable city of Hood River, or The Dalles for bigger box stores. Please be sure to walk up the hill to find the bench by the tree. The views are spectacular! Thank you Irene, for everything. I hope to come back in every season. :)

My second stay for the new moon skies & lucked out again with clear skies for the light show!! We went over to the Clarno Unit of the John Day Fossil National Monument & loved it. Then we drove on over to John Day & looked around a bit before heading back. An extra bonus is the resident herd of mule deer that bed down for the night across the street in a large vacant lot while we watched the stars around the firepit. Will be back!

Great little private spot! Stayed a couple of nights, had everything one would need. There is a composting toilet and portable water we didn’t use since we were in our RV. We were able to pick where we wanted to hike with lots of options out there.

The yurt was large and private, and had great mood lighting. We were able to warm the yurt up quickly with the wood stove and it kept us warm through the night. The bed was very comfortable. Irene was quick responding back to me. We had a wonderful stay for my husbands birthday!

1 night at Red Cloud Ranch
My wife and I only stayed one night in the “glamping pod with gorgeous views at Red Cloud Ranch” and the description and pictures are exactly as described on their Hipcamp listing. It was very cozy with a small heater and all the bedding you need. Shannon provided great directions and met us when we arrived, she was super nice and helpful. The drive to the property is pretty magical on a clear day with easterly views of Mt. Hood and cute black cows dotting the sides of their road. It wasn’t a problem for us but worth noting that there is 3-4 mile gravel and dirt road leading up to the property. Also, at the time of this review, there was no shower which we were aware of. If we were staying more than one night glamping, a shower would be a great addition. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay would definitely come back if we were in the area again!
