Hi and welcome to Picknik Place LLC! This is a 20 acre farm, so there is plenty of land to roam free and explore, as well as having your privacy from the primary residents. With this spot, you are nestled under a juniper tree with a lava rock backdrop and can watch the sun dip below the volcanos in the distance. This spot is very simple and tucked away. While feeling remote and removed from the Bend tourism, it only takes 15 minutes to get downtown, where there are ample restaurants, shops, coffehouses, etc. It takes 7 minutes to get to Trader Joe's and Home Depot, and 10 minutes to get to St. Charles Hospital. Heads up- as many places in central Oregon, Picknik Place gets pretty dusty and dry in the summer months.

We have cows, chickens, geese and ducks that live on the ranch and you will most likely see them roaming around the fields. There is bike riding, boating, fishing, hiking, ATV riding, swimming, kayaking, lounging and enjoying nature. When you arrive just park in your site. We have 30-amp service but no RV septic hookup. The site is gravel so you may need to level your rig. We have a fantastic outdoor area complete with couch, loungers, BBQ and fire pit. The high desert offers some of the most amazing views of the Cascade Mountains with clear blue skies and some of the best star gazing around. Casa del Lago is a dark sky site. There is a fantastic view of Mount Jefferson from the couch and the sunsets are absolutely beautiful. During the Summer we usually enjoy beautiful sunny days and cool comfortable nights. You can hang out down at the lake and find a spot on the beach to have a picnic. You can also bring your boat or rent one at the Cove Palisades Marina and enjoy water sports. Hosts live in house on property. We are located 4 miles from the lake and are nestled in a rural country neighborhood.

Please note that while good separation exists between your accommodations and our primary residence, you should expect to see and hear us around the property on occasion. Mckenzie has put a lot of thought and effort into his ranch and offering a comfortable, welcoming experience. The land itself is beautiful. The ranch dogs are a super bonus! We had a lovely stay and would not hesitate to book again if we come his way.

Weekend Trip to Casa Del lago 2 Lake Billy Chinook

This was such a beautiful and serene little place! There are multiple little areas for campers but we happened to have the place all to ourselves which is just how I’d prefer it. We had our camper but we could have shown up with nothing but our tents, blankets, clothes and food. There are camping supplies, soft lighting, comfortable outdoor furniture, a clean porta potty, clean outdoor shower (with instant hot water!), an outdoor sink with running water, shade and privacy. Even though the major Flat fire was right next to us and we lost water for a bit, it was one of my most favorite camping trips! We were right near Lake Billy Chinook & Three Rivers and a little store/gas station. Susan is the best host! She is so kind and responsive and it’s apparent she takes great pride in the look and care of this magical little place. We will definitely be back!

Just as pictured, this place has everything you need for cooking, relaxing and fun. Good communication and lots of private space. We camped and our tent fit well and didn’t get too hot even thought it was a heat wave in the high desert!

My daughter and I stayed here after three days hiking. It’s a quiet, spacious spot on green grass, with privacy and a clean bathroom. WiFi was a plus and worked great. Don’t let the title fool you, the cows grazing around with the calves playing were a great part of the experience and not a bother at all. 10/10

We had a wonderful experience trailer camping at Makenzie’s ranch. The spot was very easy to access, yet felt very comfortable and private. We appreciated the access to electric hookup and water pump, and the table and chairs set up to eat our breakfast watching the cows in the morning! We would definitely stay here again next time we are in the Bend area!

Absolutely perfect. I miss it already. They have set up all the amenities, including the kitchen area, living room, area, private shower, covered area with the camp to stay out of too much sun. It’s very pleasant and just a short drive down to the upper state use area where I was able to play on Lake Billy chinook All day.

The place was great. Julie is Mckenzie‘s mother the place that we parked or camp was away from everybody. It was easy access in and out. Be wary of the roundabouts in band lol and we have a 35 foot trailer. It was a level spot we just put our stabilizers out and they even have power and water that you can use as needed And it’s beautiful where they live and very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely go back there again thanks Julie and Mckenzie.

This was such a delightful place to camp for the night. A little out of the way, but well worth it. We were greeted with such a warm welcome. There was a pond near our site that our kids loved exploring, and they loved seeing the cows when they woke up in the morning. It was so charming and very private. We loved our stay!

Susan is a such a considerate host. . She provided many amenities to ensure a comfortable, relaxing stay. (Shower, cleanest port-o-potty I’ve ever seen!, outdoor kitchen and cozy lounge area, picnic tables, etc). I was surprised at how private it felt, considering we were staying in someone’s yard! The Mountain View and surrounding parks are beautiful.
