This is a camping accomodation in an RV that is onsite at our property. You cannot drive it off the property, it remains here at all times. Just bring yourselves and your food and belongings! This 30 foot RV has a queen size bed, seating and dining area, small kitchen space, shower, toilet, refrigerator and electric, wifi and water hookups. Septic dumps are our problem, not yours. Enjoy a fun getaway near Bend for a reasonable price. Up to two dogs allowed. Historic farm property with standing structures from the early 1900's including the schoolhouse in our driveway and smokehouse at the very back of the lot. Our neighbor across the street grows 30 acres of the best alfalfa around, and we also have ranchers nearby raising sheep, top quality cattle, horses, pygmy goats, rehabilitated former race horses and even peacocks! Great Bend proximate camping is hard to find. We offer a safe, secure place to camp 10 minutes outside of town with a beautiful farm pond to enjoy in the backyard. We were so honored to be named one of Oregon's top rated HipCamp sites in 2020 and 2021! Thank you! We have taken a break from hosting the last few years and are happy to be back with this new option. Nearby: Explore trails and Bureau of Land Management (free and open federal property) access nearby for mountain biking, hiking and more. You are welcome and encouraged to explore our property and enjoy all of its peaceful tranquility, including two beautiful ponds. You can walk your dogs without leaving the premises. Kids love our giant tree house. This is a great place for those with dogs and families. We have dogs and cats but they are friendly with other animals. Great site! Effortless check-in/check-out. Morning view of the canyon was priceless! Many farm animals on the property along with some guard dogs. Very close to Smith Rock! Bring ear plugs if you don't want to hear the dogs barking through the night. Other than that, great stay!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this Hipcamp, and it was an unforgettable experience. The area is absolutely beautiful, highlighted by breathtaking sunsets that painted the sky with vibrant hues in the evening. One of the most charming aspects of our stay was the warm welcome from some friendly locals—a dog, a cat, and even a chicken came to greet us upon arrival. It added a delightful, homely touch to the serene setting. The majestic Juniper tree on the property was another standout feature. Its natural beauty added to the tranquil atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to relax and soak in the surroundings. The campground is close enough to pop into the bend downtown, if that’s what you’re seeking. I would highly recommend this Hipcamp to anyone looking to enjoy nature, friendly animal encounters, and stunning sunsets. It’s an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Beautiful private river to swim in with gorgeous mountain (?) backdrop. If you’re an animal lover then you will especially love this site. Tons of friendly and beautiful animals to visit! If you’re a carnivore then you must check out the dream fridge of ranch meats. John and Hoss were so friendly and generous — if I am ever in the area again then I would love to come back. 10/10

This place was beautiful! From the moment we arrived, it felt calm, peaceful, and like the perfect little escape. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He gave us free firewood, showed us around the ranch, and even let us meet and pet all the animals (which was awesome!). Being surrounded by that beautiful scenery was so refreshing, and getting here was super easy. We’re already talking about our next trip back. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Enjoyed the stay for 2 nights, definitely felt safe by the river and left for Bend for the day for some paddling and came back feeling okay about leaving our tent. The river was a bit low because it's summer but that's fine we weren't planning on paddling in there to begin with. Everyone we met at the farm/camp was friendly, there were a lot of animals around from the farm, also at night just a lot of wild animals/bird sounds and a big storm passing overhead. I'd recommend for anyone planning on seeing Smith rock or just wanting to camp somewhere wild that's not a forest for a night. There was a guy fishing down there in a parallel site. This is not like camping in the forest where you have silence and trees, this is camping out in a very wild field with a river and at night occasional headlights of cars passing by but that part's not so bad. All of the camp sites appear to be right next to each other and there's a single portapotty. The host was nice, he came down and said hi and chatted a few times. I appreciated the stay overall but maybe not the place to get away to "fix your marriage" or something. :]

I loved tent camping on Gwen’s pastureland. It was quiet, peaceful and so lovely to have a place to prepare my meals, and space for my morning/evening my routines, and such a treat to take in some stargazing before sleep. A couple chickens and a black cat came to visit - love the animal energy. I’m glad I checked out the farm stand down the road as well.

Ill start with. AMAZING!! We were in the private area. They helped us find where to go on 4 wheeler (but there is a sign too) and led us to a little oasis. The alpacas were so cute but they said no thanks when I went for a pet. Shade cloth, picnic table and right on the crooked river. We came with a big truck and 28' long camper trailer. We were initially nervous pulling in because it was narrow but it was totally fine going nice and slow. Wide enough turns for no anxiety. It was beautiful. Highly recommend.

She even set out lights to help us find the campsite because we arrived after dark! The little pond was cute to sit by! We really enjoyed our stay! Do recommend for car/van camping!

Loved camping on John & Sarah’s land. The directions and signs were clear and easy to find, and the spots were clearly marked as well. The shade was nice, the garbage cans were securely fastened, and the facilities were clean. The view wasn’t so bad either! 🤩🩷

Lovely stay. Wonderful owners. The property is beautiful with lots of animals and beatuiful scenery with the river and mountain. Has a little farm store where you can buy eggs, ,meat etc. Our daughter got a ride on their three wheeler showing the property which she loved. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at John and Sarah’s Hipcamp. We were actually the first Hipcampers to this site and actually our first Hipcamp as well. The site had everything we needed since we planned for camping. Outhouse, picnic table, nice cover for sun shade. The views were stunning-right along the crooked river with views of a mesa ahead. They have a beautiful farm property too with lots of farm animals. The hosts went above and beyond with their kindness-they welcomed us when we first arrived, provided firewood and a fire pit, dropped off a popup camper in case we wanted to use that instead of the tent. They even let us borrow their paddleboard and invited us for taco dinner the last night we were there and showed us the farm animals. John and Sarah told us their exciting plans they have for the land and will be looking forward to another visit some day again when I’m back in the area. I can’t say enough good things about how great the visit was. Thanks John and Sarah!!
