Within just 30 minutes, you'll find numerous opportunities for hiking, fishing, kayaking, and biking, with private access to miles of hiking trails on public land right from the campsite. Keep your eyes peeled for the impressive eagle activity in the area, as bald and golden eagles are frequently spotted soaring above or perched nearby.
At night, you may have the opportunity to join us for star viewing parties under our dark, expansive sky—an experience you won't forget.
While our site offers access to seclusion, it's not entirely secluded on its own. Nestled at the bottom of a pasture in a farming area, it's within sight of the owner and a neighbor. However, rural living offers a sense of privacy, allowing you to relax and be yourself amidst nature. Keep in mind that you may encounter bugs, coyotes, deer, and some nearby farming activity during your stay.
Our communal camping area features level ground, fire pit, potable water spigot, camp toilet, and a picnic table. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be leashed or kenneled on the property—feel free to let them off-leash on the adjacent public lands.
You may get lucky and get a visit from one of our barn cats-Pumpkin and Spice, or get a glimpse of one of the dinosaur chickens (Guinea Fowl) that serve as pest and mosquito control.
Owners are available to provide information and maps for hiking and outdoor recreation activities. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Shasta from your campsite, with seasonally flooded fields adding to the picturesque scenery. You're also welcome to explore the hills nearby, offering even more breathtaking vistas to discover.

This 200 acre property is located within the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument, a land bridge where two mountain ranges meet, creating immense biodiversity and natural beauty. Soda Spring is a bourgeoning community tended land located on the unceded territories of the Shasta, Takilma, Latgawa and Klamath peoples, just 10 minutes from the south end of Ashland, Oregon. The property is primarily oak savannah and pastureland, with adjacent fir/pine and madrone/manzanita forests and hillsides. The land sits in a valley where both Soda Creek and Carter Creek enter in to Emigrant Creek as it flows onward to Emigrant Lake, just a mile away. The land is being stewarded by a small group of humans and large community of wildlife and insects. Together we are slowly creating something special... including community event and classroom spaces, gardens, orchards, holistically managed ranch lands, campgrounds and wild places.
Please note that we are a working farm with sheep, cattle, horses, chickens, turkeys, dogs, cats, pigeons and bees. We ask that you are considerate to all the life happening on the land, observing animals at a distance (except the cats, who will not allow for that) and being aware of electric fences. If you bring dogs to the land, (an option only with RV sites) do so at your own risk. Dogs will need to be leashed at all times and cleaned up after meticulously. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe and the land well cared for.
Currently there are two vintage trailers and two RV sites available. By summer of 2026 we hope to also offer walk-in campsites by the creek!

Mindful Earth Farm is a multi-family intentional community located on a six acre certified organic and biodynamic permaculture farm outside of Ashland Oregon. We currently have two families and two additional indivuals living on the farm as well as goats, chickens, guinea hens, dogs and a few cats. Although the farm has worn many cash hats over the last ten years, from a market garden, to a hemp farm, a hemp seed breeding research facility, and most recently a heritage grain research farm, the more permanent aspects of the farm including the food forests and horticulture have continued to evolve despite historic droughts and high temperatures over the last couple of years. We really enjoyed this site. We were passing through on our way back home and this site was easy to get to and offered a peaceful, quiet night. They also had electricity, water, and a hot shower, which was very convenient. The host was very responsive and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Such a beautiful, serene space. The trailer was so cute and thoughtfully decorated in a small space. Sarah was super helpful and communicative, and another person who lives on the land was also kind enough to chat and show me around when I got in. Loved it would love to come again and spend longer!

Clean and beautiful campsite. Minimal light pollution, so the sky was a delight. Close to town, but far enough. Delightful hosts. Felt safe traveling with my kids. Hook up and water at site. Also there is a shower/bathroom. Nice walks and hikes nearby. Easy to find with directions. Sarah was really sweet.

What a view! Easy to set up, water and electric right there. Level and gravelly. Across the road is a field where Balds and Goldens gather every morning. It was magical! And Shasta is the backdrop for all of this! Laurie is responsive but let's you be. Go and camp there!

The perfect stop on my portland to sand Diego road trip, about 15 minutes from the main highway but it felt a world away. The washroom was great, with hot water even! The icing on the cake was the trail across the road that followed along the creek - my dogs and I took several romps around there during our stay.

This is a lovely spot in a farm on a creek surrounded by rolling hills. The farm hosts a a variety of folks, all friendly. A highlight is the flock of hairless sheep! We enjoyed the scenery and how remote it felt while being just 10 miles from Ashland. Sarah and Jeff were gracious and attentive hosts, and we had a great time resting and exploring the area.

Wow! What a wonderful place, and maybe one of my favorite HipCamps I have stayed at. When you book here, you aren't just booking a place to sleep, it is a whole experience! The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I was really impressed by the property and its history, especially their work restoring wetlands and promoting forest diversity, and I learned a lot during my stay. I also especially loved meeting the goats and picking fresh produce from their U-Pick farm. They even offer goat hikes, which I didn’t get to try this time, but I’m already planning my next visit just for that! The bed was super comfortable, and the community kitchen was impressively well-equipped. They truly thought of everything—you just need to show up and enjoy!

It is very simple and quiet and the views are breathtaking. It is not an improved campsite, so if you’re looking for luxury, this isn’t for you. If you are looking for a secluded getaway that is free from the hustle and bustle and let your dogs off leash with you and you love dry camping and don’t like neighbors, This is the place for you. We absolutely loved it, We will definitely be back.
