Crooked Finger Farms has great history. The Farm and surrounding acreage was homesteaded in the late 1850’s-1860’s. You can still pick the fruit from the original heirloom apple and pear trees! The farmhouse, historic barn and outbuildings were built as a dairy in 1915.

GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family.
The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6).
Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep.
Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! Your experience will certainly be unique to the season.

Our Garden & Galaxy Retreat in Portland, OR is a stunner. It is built with salvaged materials from nearby painted lady Victorian home that are the pillars at the entrance and the siding is from a nearby barn. The sliding door as you enter is a salvaged US Federal Building Door that glides on barn rails and it has the original mail slot in the door. The retreat is an indoor/outdoor experience as there are two walls that feature beveled shutters that open and the roof is a see through experience to watch the birds, wildlife and stars. The queen bed is super comfortable and there is a small desk filled with maps of nearby places to play. My home for the last 34 years; I have put care, love and abundance in creating a magical garden with surprises throughout. Our campsite is nestled among the trees next to the river. There's lots to enjoy. Do you like hiking? Silver Falls State Park is only 36 miles away. Boating? You can put in your kayak/canoe at Gills Landing in Lebanon and float down the river back to the campsite. Fishing? Bring your fishing pole and try catch and release in our pond. Swimming? Take a swim in the cool water. Of course, you can just relax by the water's edge and enjoy the tranquility provided by the soothing flow of the river.
This 192 sq. ft. cabin is very basic. There is no shower, but there is a portable toilet with a wash station located outside. We do provide a full 5-gallon water cooler for drinking since there is no running water. For cooking there is a 24" Blackstone 2-burner griddle, and small propane cans are provided. Also, the cabin is furnished with a small supply of pots and pans. There is a battery that provides lighting, and phone charging is available in the cabin. During the cooler months, there is a small wood stove for heating, and firewood is provided. The cabin sleeps 2, but there is room for a camper and/or tents. This campsite is meant to be very simple, so you should plan on bringing whatever you may need/want for camping.

A year-round creek flows through the property and 3 major rivers are nearby. The Zigzag Mountain Lookout Trail leaves from the property. The property was homesteaded in the early 1900's. E. Mountain Drive was the wagon train trail into Portland, known as the Barlow Trail.

The cabin has a well equipped kitchen that will accommodate 8 people comfortably at meal time, a living room that centers around the fireplace, a sitting room that provides both an extension of the living room and a connection to the covered deck and the creek out back.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor. The main bedroom, with a queen bed, has its own bathroom. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and an annex bedroom with both a full size bed and a trundle below. There is also the upstairs loft space, which has two full sized beds each with their own trundle bed. In addition, there is a bonus space downstairs with it own full sized day bed that stays nice and cool in the summer, but needs a little pre-heating in the winter months to be comfortable for most folks. Our family’s favorite thing about the main floor bedrooms is their proximity to the sounds of the creek.

Second time staying on Jim's farm. Last year we stayed in the tree house. This year me and my girls and a friend and her girls each rented one of the cabins. We had a blast. It's such a magical little set-up. We had everything we needed to pull in, quickly unpack and get to enjoying our stay and exploring the farm. All four kids and both parents already want to go back.

Weekend Trip to Santiam Serenity
We spent our 12th anniversary in this lovely little cabin. It’s just what we needed! You can sit on the porch and see the water, hear all the birds. Short walk to small creek. It’s like being on your own island! Great water area for kiddos and adults. Tons of little fishes, rocks, and quiet. Short walk to Santiam river as well. We will be back!!

Weekend Trip to Roshambo ArtFarm
Our stay in the cabin / at the farm was lovely. Saw the Milky Way at night, ate some wild blackberries during the day, and tasted some delicious wines in the evening. And Kim was a very welcoming host. Only wish we coincided with one of the live shows they host.

2 nights at GeerCrest Farm
Jim’s loft cabins were the best deal we he had among the 4 Hipcamp places we stayed at during our 9-day tour of Oregon. A great base for our visit to Silver Falls. Jim was very hospitable & provided firewood too. Loft had Silver Falls Park maps to help us plan our visit. Plus a very friendly cat, whose company we enjoyed.

Right next to the creek very private nice little cabin set up easy instructions to get there. Michelle very easy to communicate with very helpful . Me and my dog had a great time.

Fantastic campground. The cabin was a great place to stop on our foraging road trip. Well stocked but do be warned there are no bowls or coffee cups, totally reasonable for a little cabin in the woods, but wanted to give folks a heads up. We'll be back for sure.

Weekend Trip to Sweet Relief
The property is beautiful natural forest with Fir, Cedar and big Leaf maples. Cool quiet and lovely. Trent is easy and quick to respond and very on top of hosting and what you need. The cabin is cute and the soaking tub is the BEST! Highly recommend

Lovely property, the cabin had everything we needed, plus a propane grill! My partner and I really enjoyed the large fire pit and the fact that the property had leads to use for our fur baby.
There was a slight hiccup with scheduling, on my end, and the host(s) were great with communicating with me to resolve the issue. I hope to camp there again in the future!

Trent has provided a charming little space for glamping on his land. The location is a good base camp for hiking and exploring the surrounding natural areas. The wood-fired hot tub is convenient and relaxing after a long day of hiking. The solar powered shower was appreciated. Trent provides cooking facilities, utensils, and propane. My son and I enjoyed feeding the goats and collecting fresh eggs in the morning.

Just book it! What an amazing space ! The cottage sits back behind the winery and fields and the host/owners are incredible letting us try all wine beer and cider on tap since we came during a non open day, the owner is additionally a wonderful artist it’s a beautiful space we are looking to get married here!
