Welcome to Sunset Bay Meadows! We have several tent/RV sites, a yurt, and one group camping site. Once a dairy farm and part of the old Simpson estate our property offers mushroom picking seasonally whey you may find Chanterelle & Hedgehog mushrooms. We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property. Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor. We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower. The camp area is tucked away among large spruce trees and open meadows which lead to endless trails on the property, with the option to buy a round of golf at Sunset Bay Golf Course, which is right next door to the camp area. We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids. The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Charleston, just 3.5 miles away, also has some great restaurants and local shops to truly make your stay memorable. Only friendly dogs allowed and leashed or under voice command.

Nights are quiet with faint to no road noise or light pollution. The driveway and grounds are flat with safe gated parking space for cars/vans and small-med sized trailers, tents etc. It is our pleasure to offer you a safe space to camp with your friends and family. Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things. Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing a user maintained hiking/mountain biking trail with 1.5, 3, 5 and 7 mile loop options. Other nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Access to the Alsea River is located 1.5 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road or at nearby Clemmons Park. The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, and one pull out couch. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and an un-attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin. Other features include a fire pit, wood fired sauna, and creek access for cold dips. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 1 vehicle charger available for guests. The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts. The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few or many spiders, slugs and other bugs. There are occasional bunnies, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards. The barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.

I had an amazing stay at this cozy yurt near Coos Bay, Oregon. The property itself is stunning—set on a vast stretch of woodland that is even part of a golf course, it felt like a peaceful retreat tucked away in nature. The yurt was warm, inviting, and the skylight made it extra special. Hearing the nearby stream in the evening and waking up to soft natural light were some of my favorite things about the yurt stay. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make my stay memorable, even taking the time to show me where to find edible mushrooms on the property. It’s clear they genuinely enjoy sharing their land and encouraging guests to explore and connect with the outdoors. The sauna and outdoor-style shower added to the rustic, nature-inspired experience—simple, refreshing, and perfectly in tune with the setting. Overall, this stay was peaceful, unique, and full of thoughtful touches. As a solo female I felt incredibly safe and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, nature-focused getaway. 🌿

My favorite place was the loft, waking up to the windows surrounding you with beautiful trees and rain pouring on the roof- can’t get much better. My partner and my dog and I felt very welcomed by Danny and Molly and we hope to return!

Weekend Trip to Bay Point Landing

Aesthetic and well positioned glamping in Coos Bay! The amenities were great - we especially enjoyed the public patio areas and thought the architecture was beautiful - this would be a really cool spot for a smaller wedding reception or event!!! My only gripe was the blinds on the windows - we had to open the windows to cool down the space but it was pretty windy most of the time and would cause the blinds to slam against the windows constantly, which was too loud to ignore. Some more landscaping between the cabins would be great but I can see that trees are planted and it will just take a bit of time. Really enjoyed having a fire in our fire pit and watching the sun set from our porch. Bed was very comfortable, great water pressure, cute interiors - overall, amazing place!

Weekend Trip to Alsea Valley Farm

We had a wonderful time staying at this special spot for a friends getaway. Our host was extremely helpful and responsive. The cabin is so well thought-out, and it's lovely to see the creativity and time that has gone into this property. It's so nice to be able to walk right out the door and hike their private trails, listen to the creek, and relax. We arrived right after fire restrictions were lifted, so we were able to use the outdoor fire pit and look at the stars. We also used the sauna every day we were there. It has an electric sauna heater and a small woodstove, so you can choose your heat source, and the short little path down to the cold dip in the creek is genius. Some folks in reviews have mentioned the composting toilets--as some of our group lives entirely off-grid, we were actually taking pictures of their setup because it's really well designed. Just think of all the water you're saving in the world. The property itself is well cared for, and their little dog is such a cutie. We would definitely stay here again!

This was a gorgeous property with neatly manicured sites that were spread out nicely. Our family absolutely loved the setting in the middle of this forest! Not only was the site great but it was less than a 5-minute drive to Sunset Beach. We had the yurt site so with an older sister and a disabled nephew it was the only way to get us all camping and they loved the yurt which was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this site.

The yurt is very homey complete with kitchen essentials such as full-size fridge, 2-burner hot plate, We had duck eggs each morning, and loved hearing the ducks quacking and watching them bathe. We loved looking up to the sky at night from the yurt!

We loved staying at the Alsea family farms creek cabin! Where to begin?! The hosts were so kind and left us veggies and fresh strawberries picked from their garden on the property. Also a fresh vase of flowers sat on the kitchen table when we arrived which was so thoughtful. The cabin has a private hiking trail that was so peaceful and lovely. The streams and small series of bridges behind the cabin was charming and peaceful. I sat on the bigger footbridge for breakfast one morning taking in the surroundings. Small and all children not connected to devices especially would love to explore around near the creek and look and listen for critters. For the space itself was beautiful clean with everything you need. Bedding was lovely to look at comfortable to sleep in and clean. One thing that might throw certain people off would be the composting toilet. The management team works hard maintaining the space and keeping it as clean and functional and good smelling as possible. But it is a composting toilet. I personally had no problem with it. I grew up camping so this was no big deal. Up in the loft my children said they felt like they were in a treehouse. We really enjoyed everything about this place and I would have stayed longer if I could. I look forward to coming back and have shared pictures and my experience with friends. Thank you again for the lovely stay!

Weekend Trip to Burgess Backyard

We are so grateful to Janine and her family for letting our pretty large family rent out her yurt and campsite. We loved the ducks greeting us upon our arrival, which she let the little ones feed. Her dog was also a big hit! The cozy yurt had everything we could need or want. The rain coming down on the yurt roof was magical sounding. We loved hanging around the campfire, Janine sells firewood which was super convenient. We made such great memories here and would recommend to anyone who wants to experience glamping close to town! This was such a tranquil spot for our family. The cabin had everything we needed, was super comfortable, with so many windows looking out into the beautiful woods. The camp hosts were thoughtful and friendly, responded quickly to messages, and welcomed us onto the whole property with its gardens and chickens. We took a relaxing stroll through the stunning woods and spent quiet afternoons playing games and reading. Perfect!
