Potable water is also available if you bring a jug to fill. A portable toilet is available on-site. Take advantage of the opportunity to go fishing, swimming, or launch your boat/kayak/tube. Alternatively, simply relax and enjoy the picturesque views of the river and the wildlife in the coastal rainforest. Watch the salmon jump during spawning season in November, or cast a rod from our private fishing spot. We are also a birdwatcher's and rockhounding paradise! Just a few minutes away from town amenities, this location allows you to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the forested river canyon, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are family and fur baby friendly! If you are an animal lover, take the time to enjoy a visit with our cats and chickens too.
*Please note, while we have no direct neighbors, we are in a narrow river canyon. There is an active farm and wedding venue across the river. You may hear distant noise of their operations or events, depending on the season. There is also a quarry across the road that operates M-F, from 8a-3p that sometimes can be heard sporadically throughout the day.

Camping at Hidden Pillar is a primitive, off-grid experience:

Weekend Trip to Fern Haus
Such a cozy and witchy vibe me and my fiancé had such a wonderful time staying here for Valentine’s Day weekend. The aesthetic was well thought out and the cabin was well stocked for a relaxing time. The cabin was a little hard to find in the dark when we arrived as it’s tucked into the back of the property, but once we found it it was nothing but a great time.

Bev and Brenda were so amazingly accommodating! I stayed in the cabin and loved the comfortable bed and the covered deck to sit on. There was also a propane stove to heat up my water. Needless to say, I will be back for sure to do this again. The campground is very secluded from the main home and the road, the running creek was such a beautiful noise and only about 15 paces away from my front step. My dog was with me and he was loving the space to run and play with the ball.

Weekend Trip to Elkenmist
The yurt was a perfect way to winter camp and stay semi-warm in the process. The sauna was restorative and the showers had somewhat warm water (better than freezing!) Lots of woods/trails to explore. Saw some elk roaming on our last mornigng there. Will definitely be coming back when its warmer!

The cabin at Sarah’s place is awesome. It’s warm and cozy with thoughtful touches and the rushing river is blissful. Seeing the salmon spawning and jumping was an extra treat. My daughter and I had a lovely stay at this amazing property in the Witches Cabin. My daughter and I explored around the property and we had the best time. Dionne is a amazing host that helped us find the location and also came out to make sure we were all good at our campsite later on in the night. I recommend going to this hipcamp any time!

The room was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. We had a big storm come through the night of our stay and the hosts were super hospitable and brought us a backup power bank. The heater blankets on the bed were a great touch too!

Weekend Trip to Fern Haus
The Stargazer Bell Tent was a lovely little spot! There was a creek that was easy to get to and just adorable. The campsite itself and the tent were nicely cared for and the people nearby at the other campsite weren't much of an issue (except for leaving the outhouse quite messy, causing us to clean up after them). The outhouse was surprisingly very nice, for an outhouse! You can tell a lot of love goes into this whole spot at Fern Haus. The only tiny complaint I have is that all of the furniture pieces (chairs at the table inside the tent, chairs by the firepit, the picnic table itself, and the chairs by the creek) were cheap, flimsy, unstable, and rickety. I did not feel safe sitting in anything supplied at the campsite. I was glad we brought our own camp chairs! But other than that, we had a great time! Comfy bed, too! Thanks for the adventure!
