Nearly 2,500 acres of marshes and woodlands create a beautiful ambiance for your next getaway in Mother Nature. Stroll along one of two trails in the park, where robins and warblers tucked behind purple cresses and beech-maple trees may just move you to tears, or at least to write a haiku. Floating devices of just about every variety are invited to channel the 7,850 lake, and areas like a dog park means Fido is more than welcome on the scene. The land is an elongated forested strip between deep woods and a wide open field so it is very appealing to a variety of wildlife. There is a nice central camp with a makeshift nature center, a large fire pit, cooking supplies and often live music.. Nearby attractions include the Erie National Wildlife Refuge, The French Creek Conservancy, Allegheny College, Woodcock Creek Nature Center, the Tamarack Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Conneaut Lake, Hiking, horseback riding and kayaking within 10 minutes, and the super fun Venango General Store nearby. Kayaking packages are available for a 12 mile day trip. The camp is also close to a grocery store, a hardware store, an ice cream shop, and a couple rural restaurants. Campers may be allowed to gather their own dry deadfall for firewood, but good oak and cherry cooking wood will be available to purchase at center camp. With a bit of guidance from the staff, some campers may be permitted to blaze their own inroads into the woods and create their own camp legacy. Center camp is the central hub for everything you need. We have an information board with maps, current updates and info on goings on. We also have menus for pizza and local restaurants that will actually deliver to the land.. We always have coffee going in the morning and a luxury setting for a truly natural morning constitution (as long as you help to escort your creation to a staff appointed generally fertilizer deficient disposal designation). Also available for purchase or to barter for at center camp include water, toiletries,, batteries, tools for rent, and some basic cooking ingredients. Ask and we shall try our best to hook you up. Nederlandia is in the very formation stage of a potential small scale absurd culture festival with roots in Burning Man and The Electric Forest. Campers are encouraged to participate, to create spaces, and leave only works of natural art that may be aesthetically pleasing, but also beneficial to wildlife, at their sites. Wild things in wild places can happen here and many new friends can be made in the process. There is always a core staff person on site, and often a crew of hicks, skids, jocks, spiritual guides, (no degens), and musicians there every day from May to October to provide sharing, transportation, information and other basic necessities and entertainments. In the Winter, we have a very cozy cabin with a fireplace, wood stove, kitchen and generator for extra heat and light. Nederlandia is committed to wildlife conservation and education. Some of the proceeds from hosting campsites will go towards local conservation initiatives. Campers here can learn about local natural history and be immersed in the wildlife around them. We have incredible frog choruses going throughout the Spring and Summer. Our species count on the land is now somewhere in the 300s including an informal trapping study of insects last year that yielded a great number of cool bugs, but surprisingly few mosquitos. The one thing people have always said about camping here is that the mosquitos are not bad at all. We have a pond with turtles and frogs, tons of salamanders and harmless snakes. We've seen porcupine, mink, flying squirrels, and we still have a decent bat population around here. Birdwatching is a constant new surprise. There is almost always one or more dogs present here, of course. But I must also disclose, there are definitely signs of Sasquatch migrating through the back bush. Fun is our campsite concept and if we have our druthers, we can start to do themed parties around major dates and holidays, especially a grand Halloween party! It's very peaceful here and enjoy hearing the animals. The adorable goats introducedthemselvis as I was packing up in the morning. -so cute. I love Goats! (Rooster crowed just before my actual alarm clock-LOL). I value privacy and safety and slept well. I slept in my SUV. I have an airmattress and sleeping pad that keeps me comfortable. I plan to be back next time I need to travel to PGH.

Beautiful land. We had a great weekend. Everything was easy to navigate. We loved all fo the trails, feeding the horses was a hit with the kids. They’re beautiful. We camped in our pop up camper and the field is nice and flat for easy set up. Our dogs love running free here. Can’t wait to come back one day. Thank you!

Beautiful property. Had so much fun fishing and hanging out on the dock. Very private. It was too chilly to swim but we would definitely go back during warmer weather. Michael was very responsive and helpful.

Great campsite on a lovely property. Though I got in late and left early, I was able to chat briefly with Martin and Debbie who very friendly and welcoming. Quiet and very safe. Perfect pit stop off i80 for a long road trip. Highly recommend!

Marty and were so accommodating! We were welcomed and shown the options for parking. Our site was gorgeous. We could have stayed for a few days to check out the bike trails and hiking, but alas, we only had one night at the farm. Would definitely stay again. A bit off the beaten path, and so worth it! I really enjoyed getting to camp out in a place surrounded by the sight and sound of goats, chickens and horses. I loved the fact that although it's surrounded by forest, the hillside is fairly open and floods with bright morning sunlight. I even got a tour of the farm to pet the animals!

We had a great time! It was peaceful and relaxed. The critters were fun. We had visits from dogs, goats and a chicken regularly. Everyone that came was very respectful of our privacy but still super friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Just remember, you need to be fully self contained. Plus this us a working barn with goats and chickens, you will smell it some. And, like any barn area, expect bugs, including a biting black fly that didn't seem too phased by OFF. Not Mendi's fault, it just is.

For those that can't get by without a shower this is great. The basement level of the cabin has all the house essentials, but you still get to stay in a tent or rv for everything else associated with camping. Our dog enjoyed being off leash at the property and we loves being the only ones there.

The property was absolutely beautiful, great privacy, plenty to explore. I was worried I wasn't going to have much privacy but in speaking with Liliana, she assured me I would be out there for days witout seeing another human being and that's what I wanted. I met with Mike (Liliana's husband) when I first got there to follow him to camp and I wasn't bothered by anyone the entire time I was there (5 days). I would for sure recommend Starr Farm's and I will DEFINITELY be camping there again. Thanks Mike and Liliana, you have some beautiful property out there. 🙏🙏
