Purchased by my grandfather back in 1953 it has been a diverse fruit farm for many years. Currently we have almost 200 acres, a lot of it woods. We don't currently grow the crops that we did but we have planted some wine grapes in the last several years. As we also have a winery, The Winery at Spring Hill, we wanted to get some of our own grapes in the ground. Park your RV, motorhome or self-contained trailer just off the driveway south of the Host's main cabin for water, electric and sewer on property. Tent Camping can be separately booked at FarmStay - Tent @HeritageLakeFarm and is allowed most anywhere on the farm as long as it will not interfere with seasonal agricultural operations. Two vintage sleeping cabins can be separately booked at FarmStay - Cabin1 or FarmStay - Cabin2 @HeritageLakeFarm. Heritage Lake Farm has abundant wildlife and offers excellent opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, and foraging.

Here you'll find sheep, chickens, ducks, and dogs as well as a variety of wild animals and birds, native pollinators, and fields of wildflowers. Camping and lodging options include a large open camp area, a tiny house, and a covered wagon. Chris Zielski and Alan Block are the wife and husband team that steward the farm. Chris is a metal artist and has a beautiful onsite studio for her business, Copper Leaf Studios. Alan is a sourdough baker, gardener, and fermenter. In addition to Hipcampers, Flannel Dog Farm hosts art shows, classes, and retreats. Much like our farm's name, our place is warm, welcoming, rustic, and a little bit gritty. Welcome to your lovely home away from home. Located on 30 acres of land, our farm is just a few minutes from downtown and all things Oberlin College & Conservatory. Come watch the sunset overlooking our beautiful garden, explore the vibrant campus life, or cook yourself a meal in our open outdoor kitchen. The space: Our campsites are situated on active organically farmed land. We have several sleeping spots available and amenities include an outhouse, an outdoor kitchen with sink & gas stove and seating area. Guests can freely use the basement shower which can be accessed through the red storm doors on the side of the house. Other things to note: Helpful to have a car even though campus is so close. 1/4 of the 25 minute walk to campus is along a state route. There is a beautiful longer walk to avoid the highway along a bike trail but if you have places to be, either ask us for a ride or best you have your own vehicle :) I walk all the time. Very doable just depends on your preference.

Located 30 min from I-90, for those passing through and Lake Erie is about 35 minutes. The 40 mile long Western Reserve Greenway Trail is just 1 mile from our location. Ohio wine country is also near us with over 20 wineries and 17 covered bridges in the area. 20 miles to the east is Pymatuning Lake and 50 miles to the west is Cleveland. There is a private lake that we do not have access to but the beautiful views are free!

Come and enjoy the Beach Glass Festival in June, The Wine and Walleye Festival in July, The County Fair in August, The Covered Bridge Festival in October. Visit one of the many wineries throughout the county. Visit Geneva on the Lake with its many activities, bars, wineries and restaurants or play a round of put put golf. A full service golf course is just down the road from the farm. You can explore the local rivers, Ashtabula and Grand River. There are many smaller lakes close by to enjoy too. Ohio's Metro Park system is extensive in Ashtabula. Hike and explore to your heart's content. Love music? There is almost always live music around the county in the summer. Enjoy some wonderful bands and have a glass of wine, beer from the local brewery or coffee from one of the many local coffee shops. There is always something to do close by. Come and Enjoy!
