Enveloped in the heart of the Tranquility Wilderness Area, our 11-acre property features a mix of native pawpaw, peach, pear, and persimmon trees, deciduous forest, cedar woods, wild meadows, a small swimming pond, and a large accessible field for tents and space to play. Trails through the woods are being developed, and facilities expand gradually with the seasons. Enjoy the mellow soundtrack of birds, crickets, and frogs, along with incredibly clear night skies ideal for stargazing.
Nearby, visitors can enjoy hiking, kayaking, biking, birding, foraging, fishing, hunting, and swimming on site and at several state parks and historic sites within 10–30 minutes of the farm. Amish country is close, with bakeries, markets, furniture shops, and greenhouses.
Our primitive campsites are spaced for privacy. A gravel parking area is available near the Cottage, with additional grass parking in the upper field. Sites may be walk-in only depending on weather and ground conditions.

The back pocket on Basil's property was on a dead end road no one around no one to bother you no noises through the area oh no great spot to be camping... Glad I found it last minute to get down there and make a good hunting trip out of it... Memories will be forever

Home Afarm was absolutely wonderful.. everything was perfect from start to finish. The cottage was cozy and just right for us, and the outdoor seating area by the fire pit was so peaceful and relaxing! Our hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, and their chicken eggs were AMAZING! Seriously, don’t miss out on those! I also really appreciated that they offer firewood bundles for such an affordable price. We’re already looking forward to planning our next trip back to the cottage! :)

Two of us stayed in the Cottage. The cottage was really nicely decorated and spacious. It had a lot of windows for views with thick curtains for night. There is a full size stove and literally 28 outlets. The greenhouse shower was nice and the water got hot quickly even though it was only 39°F outside. The toilet is an outhouse vault toilet like a porta potty but it does have an electric light and lots of tp. The hosts were helpful and chill. We mostly were there to visit the mounds and caves so we didn't explore much of the property but I think you could have a nice weekend just hanging around the farm. It was also a very reasonable price and close to what we wanted to see. I would definitely recommend it

I loved setting up right on the water's edge. The site is big enough for a family reunion so I was able to spread out. Took my GSD and he was pretty relaxed, which is unusual. Amazing! Basil was super informative and up-front with all needed info. We arrived after dark - Basil simply popped out from next door, checked if we were okay, and left us be. I really appreciated the later check-out - gave us time to use the hot tub in the AM. And of course, that outdoor shower - GREAT!

Great place - only compliments to the host and his farm. Loved the hospitality towards my dogs and they in turn loved retriever training in the pond (just happened to have the place to myself which is not a given).
I stayed in the cabin several days - liked the AC even through I was away much of the time. Also spent a few days on my camper van.
Hot tub is recommended and the shower was nice.

Moondoggie's is one of the best tent camping experiences we've had in Ohio. I grew up in Ohio but hadn't been to Adams county it is literally like being in a different state, the rolling hills of Appalachia are beautiful, roads are fun to drive with picture worthy views. Lots of rocks with fossils to be found in the river. The owls at night added so much. The night sky is full of stars and a great place to see the milky Way, no light pollution. A lot of camps you don't experience nature as we did at Moondoggie's. Owls, Hawks, Blue Heron, and Beavers. The night sounds of the owls, frogs, cicadas, and crickets was so relaxing.
Our site overlooked the river. The atmosphere was so calm, quiet, relaxing, and very tranquil. The grounds are clean, grass mowed, portapot was clean and odor free.
We took a friend who is recovering from brain cancer surgery he said that this was the best camping trip of his life and was exactly what he needed.
Our host, Nikki is amazing, she is friendly, energetic, and will go out of her way to make sure your stay is as perfect as possible.
This was our first trip of many more to come. I'm a lifelong tent camper and I can say that Moondoggie's is one of the best camping spots in Ohio and if your considering going book your trip you will enjoy it.

Basil was an incredible host! Very responsive and informative, greeted me even at my late arrival. The land was so beautiful and the pond lovely. Best outdoor shower I've ever experienced as well! 10/10 would return. P.s. super close to the Serpent Mound, huge plus!

Camping here was fantastic. Everything on the site is very well maintained, the pond was wonderful. The farm shope option was so beneficial and exciting for us. We also got to experience the barn and get a little break from the heat. The greenhouse shower after the pond was also such a cute amenity!
We were even met with such lovely hospitality when we ran into car troubles on day of check out. HIGHLY recommend camping here in large or small groups, Bazil was such a delight of a host!

We had the most peaceful and refreshing stay camping on Basil’s land last night. The property is quiet, spacious, and full of natural beauty — perfect for anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy nature. Basil was a kind and welcoming host, making sure we had everything we needed and giving us our space to relax.
The site felt safe and well cared for, with plenty of room to set up camp comfortably. We enjoyed the sound of the wind through the trees, the clear night sky, and the overall calm atmosphere — exactly what we needed on our road trip.

It’s a gorgeous spot to be at. Nikki’s super sweet. You can rent a kayak. The water front is a great spot for littles. We have small kids so the water is the perfect depth for them and if you don’t have littles the water gets pretty deep to be able to fully swim. There’s TONS of butterflies there too so we were all just spotting out the butterflies or swimming. It’s a nice little spot to get connected with nature again. My family and I had a blast and Nikki is an amazing host. ❤️

3 nights at Hawk's View Farm
Staying at Rebecca's cabin was wonderful! It was clean, cute, and comfortable. Our host was also very communicative; especially after a WILD storm rolled through. She checked in with us to make sure we were okay. She also offered us some wonderful squash from her garden that was delicious! The views were spectacular and perfect for watching storms and sunsets. That is a great stay!

Absolutely Amazing!
I could rave about Moondoggie, Nikki and Jamie for ages.
It is a hidden gem in Adam’s County and deserves all the attention it can get. Location of the sites are great! You are overlooking the creek, optimal shade/tree cover, bugs/mosquitos are barely noticeable even though you are close to the water, open grass where your doggo can run and the quiet was sublime.
Walking and exploring the creek was so peaceful. Our dog Indy got to swim for the first time and he loved it so much we’d catch him trying to slink off down towards the creek waiting for us to join him.
Nikki is just great people and is doing so much for the community. I will tell everyone about this site, Moondoggie, and will be back

Very large and comfortable spot for camping. We enjoyed the private surroundings, the chickens, and the nearby pond the most. Hosts were very responsive to our requests. Highly recommend. It was the perfect base for us to explore the Serpent Mound and Chalet Nivale Preserve.
