We thoroughly enjoyed our time camping here. Whitney was kind and showed us around the property when we arrived. He also mentioned a few good places around to eat as well. This camp spot is very close to town, less than 5 minute drive to Walmart. It was nice for going to get ice or anything you may have forgotten, but also know it is in Muncie. We caught a couple fish and or dogs enjoyed splashing in the river. We brought our popup camper and handle ample space to set up as well as access to electric. If you’re looking for something with access to water, close to town, but in the woods this was a great spot.

This was my first ever weekend at a Hipcamp spot and it went great. The owners were helpful and the site was perfect! Definitely recommend it!

If you’re looking for a relaxing and unique Hipcamp experience this is the place. The cabin is so cozy. The front porch is a perfect location to relax and read a book. They offer 30 and 50 amp hookups. The grounds were meticulously maintained. I will most certainly book again!

We loved staying at Shawn’s place. The kids had a blast playing on his G Croquet course. It is quiet and very well kept. Having a dumpster right there as you leave is huge. We had a great stay and will definitely be back. You can tell he loves having you and we enjoyed a great night out at the campfire. Definite must stay!!

Loved our tent/hammock experience here! We were right on the river and our kids enjoyed playing the whole time. Whitney was super kewl and helpful. He also has kayaks and offered to pick us up for a small fee and if we wanted to float the river and even told us about some cool places to check out nearby. We already plan on coming back next year

Weekend Trip to Bluffton Farm & Camp

Had a great time at this little farm! Bryan, Kim and all the kids were great and would do anything to make your overnight the best. It was very hot but Bryan supplied electric so we could run the AC. The kids showed off their cute little puppies and we stopped across the street to pick up some fresh produce. We went to Fort Wayne the next day to raid the Antique and coffee shops. This is a great very quiet place to stay and will do it again in the future.

Honestly thought taking 6 teenagers out into the woods with no electricity was going to be a struggle, but this was such an enjoyable experience! It was raining for half of it, but the over cover was amazing. Our fire never went out! Then having rope swings over the river and Whitney came to our site to give us tips and pointing out the incredible eagles nest for us, our kids were having a blast! The whole park was so interesting, we were constantly walking around and finding something new. And then be able to have an eagle and a doe come right into our camp?? Unforgettable!! The doe actually came face to face with the oldest as he slept in a hammock! These are hands down, the best memories we will treasure!

I enjoyed my stay at the Outpost. Such a quiet country seeing. The parking area is nice and level. It's nice to relax among the shade trees in the hammock. I was going to drop a line into the pond but it started raining.

We were pleasantly surprised at how unique this is. Whitney is an awesome camp host. He greeted us and showed us around. He has put a lot of work into this place, It definitely shows. From lights strung around, an owl placed with glowing eyes , etc. The river was lots of fun, perfect for wading, floating, adults and the kids loved it. We went for one night to check it out, we enjoyed ourselves so much, ended up staying two nights. Our neighbor campers brought their dog. It was fun to watch the dogs play in the water. This is perfect for adults, and also perfect for small kids and families. It is secluded , not crammed in like you are at bigger campgrounds. definitely will be back, and recommending to others.

Hidden Valley Fun Time Happy Camp!

Once the secret speakeasy after dark spot for local political big wigs this property has been transformed from swampland to hidden gem right on the edge of America's Hometown of Muncie, Indiana! Welcome to Narnia! Or Atlantis!? Or... The Property? The Hidden Valley? We just haven't committed to a name yet so it's a little bit of everything all rolled into one! 8 acres on the magical Ganges, er, White River makes for a fun time. You can expect a certain amount of privacy while still potentially making a new friend or two depending on the night. You will be nestled under some giant sycamores, cottonwoods, black walnuts, catulpas, and a mess of bush honeysuckle that is always being battled! We have 2-3 sites directly on the river and then scores throughout with trails, hills, and other interesting features. Multiple firepits though I CANNOT guarantee firewood. There is often plenty to collect or available on site but if you can bring your own that'd be safest bet! We are (somehow) located partially inside Muncie city limits right on the river. Yes you may occasionally hear some trains or even particularly loud cars while camping deep in the woods but this is the tradeoff for a one mile drive to bars, restaurants, and groceries! Best of both worlds. The Muncie Eagles, whose nest resides directly across the river from us, do not seem to mind! This location is also directly on two main bike trail routes and our trails are fun for low impact mountain biking! We also have a small armada of kayaks/canoes on site; IF arranged that option does exist for cost of transport! We have 2 porta potties on site as well and fresh water hose available at main house. Looking forward to hosting!

Blue Water Lake is located next to the Salamonie River with fishing access in the lake or the river. Blue Water Lake was previously Baltes Stone Quarry deepest point 30 ft. Lime stone edged with a straight drop off in most places. Beach area available for swimming access. No lifeguards on duty, swim at your own risk. Primitive camping available. Out house available. Less than a mile from Montpelier, a golf cart community. Small town still host Montpelier Speedway one of the last dirt tracks in Indiana. Races on most Saturday nights. You can also get a round of golf in at Bluewater Golf course 9 hole course located across the road from the lake. The land now covered by Montpelier used to be a part of the Native American Miami Nation's Godfroy Reserve. Giant Indian statue at our town center featured on Parks and Reaction TV Show.

Please be aware that if we have had a lot of rain, the creek side spots may be too wet and difficult to get back up the hill with the wet grass. If this is the case, we do have the gravel barn driveway that can accommodate your stay. During peak busy season, the barn drive may have additional guests due to site, weather or general camping conditions. The barn drive offers a view of the creek area about 100 feet away and is about 175 feet from the patio common area. WiFi covering the entire camp and all cellular carriers work great here. 30 Amp electrical in many spots. White tank water fill is available in select locations. Plenty of room for tow vehicle at your camp site. Pet policy: Dogs / pets are certainly welcome subject to the following: No destructive behaviors. (Digging, chewing, etc) No aggressive behaviors. (Toward anyone at any time) Please consider that other guests may be present. As of 5/1/24, a new overflow RV spot has been added with 30A electrical. If it is too wet to access the creek side spots, we can still accommodate your stay in the nearby barn driveway but if you are unable to back up with the 'toad' then a detach will be required. Again, this is only if it is too wet to access the creek side camp spots. Generally we will be able to help you back in, but at times we may be away and suggest a helper in guiding you into the barn drive. Note, the barn driveway is not a pull through site.

Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods. Learn more about this land: Make a stop back in time to our quiet woodland retreat with an updated 1800’s log cabin nestled on the property.
