Overgrown and neglected, we have worked hard to make it a nice place for hiking, kayaking, fishing or any number of other activities. Peaceful and remote, the property has a beautiful brook that leads you to the South branch of the Portage river. Deer, turkey, geese, herons, mink and fox are just a few of our natural animal friends. Rusty the steer and his pony friends Lexi and Little Bits can be visited while they graze in the pasture. We cater to the tent camper so that we can hear frogs & owls instead of generators. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper.
We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river).

Croaky Oak Clearing of Good Knights Reserve is located in Ohio and a 25-30 minute drive to Dublin. You'll have nothing but peace and privacy on the back 15 acres of the property. A 1/2 mile drivable path will take you to the one site offered. Here you can pitch your tent, build a campfire, catch and release a few fish from the pond, or choose to sit on the floating dock with your feet in the water. There are also a few short trails to meander through. Front desk was friendly and helpful. They had a shop at the front with snacks and merch. Bathrooms were clean, and showers had great water pressure and temp. The showers are a bit low, so if you're 6 ft you may have to crouch a bit. The place was quiet, with respectful neighbors. I had water and electric hookups, and it looked like there was a place for grey water disposal, but didn't use it this time. Also, it seemed like the pool was getting remodeled and could be cool feature to try in the future.

This was exactly the kind of stop I needed after an 800+ mile travel day. The site was easy to locate, and the host went above and beyond from the moment I booked. They kept me updated on weather conditions during my long drive, which I really appreciated.
Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and given options for parking my setup. Before I even settled in, the host invited me in for a hot cup of tea and genuine conversation - such a thoughtful touch after hours on the road. We thought we were getting away from the Interstate to a quieter spot but didn't realize that it was right of of a busy highway and there was a lot of truck noise. This is a very quiet and peaceful property off the beaten path but not too far off. Many sites that can be next to each other and others having more privacy. Sites in the wide open or inside a cove of trees. Nice walking trails through the high wild grasses with lots of pollinators flitting about. Primitive camping so mostly tents, but also smaller travel trailers or motorhomes can fit right in. We spent the Labor Day weekend here and it was awesome. Fires in the evening and star gazing in the clear night sky. Sitting in the morning sun after breakfast in the light breeze. So peaceful. Christy met us as we arrived and she walked us about the property leaving it to us on what site we wanted. I really liked that the sites directly behind the barn were separated by a line of wild grasses. Nothing to stop one from walking through the grasses to the next site, but a very creative touch.
