I had a wonderful time here. We stayed for a week and got to experience several thunder storms. Peaceful and serene location will lots of amenities. About a 30 min drive to the nearest town for resupply. While there is no TV there is WiFi and a small desk with a PC display and HDMI cable that I was able to plug into so I could complete some work. The shower, stove, and toilet all made the stay very comfortable. The wood burning stove was excellent as was the hvac system with A/C and heat, a refrigerator, and propane range in the kitchen. Would definitely stay again. Perfect for a romantic stay.

I loved tent camping here. I enjoyed hiking around the property. I hope to come back in every season. You have to order the cinnamon rolls, delicious!! I really enjoyed the solitude.

Second time here and would stay more often if I wasn't six hours away, great peaceful place that is out in the country but really close to the neat town of Millersburg which has not only all the old interesting parts of town but a modern outskirts with 100% anything you need. We tented again but did check out the new cabins Matt offers and they look super neat with wood stove and all!!

1 night at The Camp Cabin at the Hallstead

Donna’s Hallstead Camp Cabin was exactly what I needed—a quiet, peaceful place to rest during a work trip. Even in February, the cabin was warm, comfortable, and had everything I needed for some simple indoor cooking. The bed was cozy, and the cabin itself was beautiful. Though I didn’t get to use the fire pit due to rain, it would have made for a great evening. I fell asleep in complete silence and woke up to the soothing sound of rain on the roof—absolute perfection. The pathway back to the cabin is easy to navigate, and the setting is just so peaceful. I may return with my family one day to enjoy it even more!

Weekend Trip to Tranquil Acres Cabins

We had a great time spending our weekend at Cozy Pine Cabin for my Husband’s birthday. The area was beautiful and peaceful. The cabins were also not too close from each other which is great! We enjoyed being in the Hot tub on a cold weather, We love the amenities especially the outdoor gas grill, fire pit (with free fire wood), whirlpool tub for two and many more!! I was also impressed with the host for being so responsive and for granting our request to make our stay convenient and memorable. Truly a star host! ✅Self check in and check out ✅Functional amenities ✅Good smelling sheets/linen ✅Very responsive and accommodating host Looking forward to be back in summer and see what activities they can offer! 👍

Wonderful little cabin. The hosts were also very accommodating and one can tell that they have been doing this for a while, because all was explained before hand and nothing was needed. I definitely recommend. If the opportunity arises, I would consider coming back.

This really is a must visit cabin! Pj was a huge help when my wife and I and of course our fur baby came to stay during the new years. The cabin was so cozy, clean, and just perfect for some much needed relaxation. We will be back for sure!

Donna made accommodations for me that made my Christmas trip to see family possible this year. The cabin was perfect for my needs and I plan to stay there again!

1 night at Hemlock & Hobbit Forest

I didn't stay in the cedar cabin, it was too cold and the roof was leaking when I scheduled so the wonderful host graciously offered me her much cozier "hobbit" house, which was essentially the same size but warmer. I have to say it was one if the coolest eco friendly houses I've ever stayed in! Really thoughtful attention to details such as the assymetric construction based on the layout of the slope and hillside. An inspiring example of how human structures can interact organically with, and even be enhanced by the natural world. All of this is only to say the host is a really welcoming, and vibrant individual and such a wonderful property is surely an extension of their warm artistry.

I came this Christmastime because of a review about Christmastime 2023. Donna goes all out with tasteful holiday decor. The flames from the very adequate heater add to the charm. I was lucky to get a dusting of snow. I never met Donna, but this is a show of trust and respect for privacy. The guestbooks confirm that this is also a special place for couples and children.

A beautiful place to disconnect and enjoy time in nature. The place is super cozy. Even our 2 year old & 4 month old enjoyed it. Our dog loved the open area she could run off leash safely & explore. Couldn't have had a better stay at a nicer place. The cabin had everything we could have needed. A full kitchen, nicely stocked, a full bathroom, and a beautiful view. Outside is set up perfect for a nice fire. Quiet, private stay. Hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. 10/10 recommend.

The primitive campground is in the corner of a small 40 acre farm owned by Matt Polcyn. He started the campground 8 years ago because of his love for nature and real camping. He enjoys traveling in many places in the States and the Caribbean islands and loves finding places off of the beaten path and not commercialized. Because of his interest and love for primitive camping he decided to open the campground in order to provide the same opportunity as a getaway primitive camping location that he tries to find when he travels. We now just added a in the trees, warm water rinse off area.

Our family oriented outdoor recreation facility is open on weekends only and offers primitive camping, PYO produce during the growing season, homesteading activities & nature-based programs. The peaceful 20-acre country farm has food gardens, a frog habitat pool, a barnyard for the chickens & ducks, a bluegill fishin' pond, a pollinator maze, a prairie garden, and an outdoor stage. After crossing a winding creek into 10 acres of woods, you may see deer, turkey, fox, coyote, mink, eagles & barred owls. In early spring, the peepers are peeping, wildflowers are abundant & the vernal pools welcome the wood frogs, salamanders and fairy shrimp. Summer brings on the bullfrogs, butterflies, dragonflies and fireflys. Fall is a great time to pull grapevine to make wreaths & to build stick forts in the woods. We cater to the tent camper so that we can hear frogs & owls instead of generators. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper. We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river). This small farm is 7 acres of the original 25 my great grandmother purchased for her family in 1934. Guests can enjoy the cabin as well as the barn, which has been converted to a rec area. Make our home and green space yours for a few days. Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to six guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two low single beds in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids 6 and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! The Camp Cabin contains a small refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace (no, the pioneers didn’t have that!). Fresh eggs and other snacks are provided for breakfast. The restroom and shower are located in the walkout basement of the farmhouse, a 40 yard walk from the Cabin. The restroom has a private entrance and is used only by guests during their stay.
