Just renovated for winter camping! Completely sealed up and draft free. Still a very primitive site, but the interior now keeps in the warmth from the fireplace. A set of bunk beds and a4 seat table as well as some could makes it work for up to 6 people. Plenty of tent area around of you have a bigger group!
Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods.
Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking, frisbee course and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away.
Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter.
The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away.
It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs.
We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables..
There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents.
There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin,
but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures.
The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk!
If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover.

Nearly 2,500 acres of marshes and woodlands create a beautiful ambiance for your next getaway in Mother Nature. Stroll along one of two trails in the park, where robins and warblers tucked behind purple cresses and beech-maple trees may just move you to tears, or at least to write a haiku. Floating devices of just about every variety are invited to channel the 7,850 lake, and areas like a dog park means Fido is more than welcome on the scene. We doubt the mosquitos will be much of a problem, but if worse comes to worse, you can just light some of those good-smelling candles or load up on the catnip (look it up!) to fend off potential itchy bites.

It's very peaceful here and enjoy hearing the animals. The adorable goats introducedthemselvis as I was packing up in the morning. -so cute. I love Goats! (Rooster crowed just before my actual alarm clock-LOL). I value privacy and safety and slept well. I slept in my SUV. I have an airmattress and sleeping pad that keeps me comfortable. I plan to be back next time I need to travel to PGH.

Gerald's beautiful place was peaceful and serene, with a very functional fire pit and picnic tables for s'mores and grilling. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone willing to walk a bit to get away from the roads, it's worth it.

I really enjoyed getting to camp out in a place surrounded by the sight and sound of goats, chickens and horses. I loved the fact that although it's surrounded by forest, the hillside is fairly open and floods with bright morning sunlight. I even got a tour of the farm to pet the animals!

We had a great time! It was peaceful and relaxed. The critters were fun. We had visits from dogs, goats and a chicken regularly. Everyone that came was very respectful of our privacy but still super friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
Just remember, you need to be fully self contained. Plus this us a working barn with goats and chickens, you will smell it some. And, like any barn area, expect bugs, including a biting black fly that didn't seem too phased by OFF. Not Mendi's fault, it just is.

The driveway is steep but thoroughly negotiable. At the top, is a large area where we were able easily to back our 25' travel trailer into the designated spot, and we were able to leave without backing and filling. HOWEVER, after we set up our trailer, it rolled back off the blocks the jack was on! It was only caught by the wheel chock behind one of the rear wheels! Had it kept going, it would have rolled down the hill in front of the house and onto the road below. BE SURE TO CHOCK YOUR WHEELS FIRST THING! The angle is NOT steep, but it was enough for this incident.
Also, Cliff Mine Road seems to have a split personality: a mile from Ian's place is an intersection. Three roads come into that intersection. Each of the three are named Cliff Mine Road. Ian lives on Cliff Mine / Enlow Road! Be sure to include the Enlow in your GPS navigation tool!
This all sounds serious. One does need to be aware of these two matters. But Ian and Kaitlin are wonderful, and the spot is very nice. Electricity only -- no water or sewer, but for one or two nights (we stayed two), it was excellent.

Ian's HipCamp was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting a relative in Pittsburgh for a few days. The spot was near highway access and close to shopping and restaurants. We especially appreciated the asphalt driveway and the safe, peaceful neighborhood. Hookups were sufficient and grouped for easy access. The yard was spacious, and there was plenty of room to park when we unhitched from our travel trailer. Communications were timely and easy. We highly recommend this HipCamp!

This is my second time staying on Gerard's property, the land is so lovely and quiet and full of life! I love all the animals, Gerard took his time to introduce us to all of them and allowed us to hold the ducks and everything. Always a magical time. The hay was so comfortable and smelled so nice.
