Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There are 2 porta potties near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast. We do provide a large trash bin near the porta potties for trash disposal. DO NOT throw trash into fire pits or burn barrels in the woods. Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you CANNOT drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles! Weekend Trip to Lost Nations Cowboy Town And Cabins

We stayed in a cabin while at “Cowboy town.” It was great and the coolest campsite I’ve ever seen! There are 3-4 cabins to stay in, along with places to tent camp. The bathroom, full kitchen, and shower are all meant to be shared. Holly provided towels, TP, hand soap, pots pans, ETC! There are 4 horses to pet and hangout with. My girlfriend couldn’t get enough of the horses. It’s a very secluded area. No city lights, no sirens. We fished the pond and caught plenty of bass. Holly mentioned they have hosted weddings, birthdays, and other get togethers. So, whether it’s 2 of you, or a group, this is likely the perfect “Glamping” site for you. I would return in a heartbeat, and even stay in a tent if necessary!

Weekend Trip to Wandering Wonder

Our stay was perfect. Lindsay and family were fantastic hosts and feels like we made friends during our stay as we connected right away. The fifth wheel was great and provided all the room our family and pup needed during our stay. The master bed was great and didn’t feel like we were staying in a camper at all. The location is very quiet and peaceful and gave us quick access to town for our stay. If we had to come back to town for any overnight stays in the future we will be reaching out to Lindsay

We had an amazing time at the Tim’s place. Everything is well thought out, clean, private, and quiet. The ac in the yurt was excellent as it was pretty humid due to some rain in the evening during our stay. Free dry firewood, and an awesome fire pit with a grilling made dinner and breakfast cooking a breeze.

This place is my favorite place to get away to. Chuck and his wife provided everything you could need to have a great time! They even added kayaks and that made our whole trip! The bed is comfy, the generator is convenient, and the view can’t be beat! 10/10 recommend this stay!

Weekend Trip to The Firefly Nest

It was a very lovely property! Very private. There was a bit of highway noise but nothing that stopped our sleep. We didn’t get to do the full trail, since it was a bit messy from the weather-nobody’s fault on that! If you’re more adventurous and have good boots maybe you could do it after a huge week of rain. The mattresses were good, and we slept fine but they are definitely more camping and less glamping mattresses. The bathroom was very nice and clean. If you have an aversion to the taste of well water, be sure to bring your own. And be careful, the hot water is EXTREMELY hot. We would definitely stay again if we’re in the area.

Weekend Trip to The Firefly Nest

My mother and I spent her 79th birthday “glamping” in the Firefly Nest, which turned out to be only 10 minutes from our house in town. It ended up being unseasonably cold with rain showers, so it was a real treat to roll in and have everything ready for us - no tent to pitch, and the firewood already split and under a roof. The rain cleared by supper time and we enjoyed the birdsong, the deer we spotted, and the rustling of leaves in this beautiful patch of woods… and the flush toilet, actual beds, and heater/fridge/lights were also quite welcome. I’ll be recommending Tim’s place for out-of-town visitors who prefer an alternative to hotels, since it’s both closer to my house and offers more privacy than any of the Fort Wayne or New Haven hotels/motels. Thanks for a delightful stay.

This was a great riverside area and the house was perfect for what I was hoping for, which was a nice off-the-grid cabin to camp in with my kids along the water. The cabin is heated with a wood stove that puts out more than enough heat for a cold night. I even made pancakes on a griddle that was heated on top of the wood stove, which the kids thought was fun. There is a generator and lights with microwave for when you want to go back on the grid. And restrooms are an outhouse without running water. It a small cabin and is rustic, but it is also well put together and in good shape. Chuck was a very gracious host.

Another relaxing visit! Chuck and Anya do a super job as hosts! The cabin and outhouse were very clean! The front porch view of the river was amazing! We enjoyed coffee time in the morning watching the beautiful sunrise and all of the wildlife waking up! The fishing was also fun! Definitely a peaceful and relaxing vibe!

It was a very peaceful stay. Bed was very comfy and the cabin was very cozy. Loved the wood burning stove. The propery was very nice and quiet. We came during a bad wind storm but it was still very peaceful in the cabin. Would definitely recommend staying here.
