There are two shared privies/outhouses which have basic composting toilets (not flushing). The Viking longhall has been 9 years in the making by a group of semi serious Viking enthusiasts: the result is a 60 foot long building that has 18, 8,x4' sleeping berths. Learn more about this land: I'm an artist and my husband and I have a small homestead with chickens and sometimes sheep/goats. Look out for electric netting to keep our herd/flock protected. The lighting over our back field is divine in the late afternoon, or if you prefer a wooded setting, we have a small wooded area across the street from our house. The area is hilly and rather private-- only one neighbor is visible when the trees are leafed out. Electric is accessible from an outlet at the backyard fence or in the barn. We often have fresh veggies and fruit in the garden in the summer, and sometimes extra farm fresh eggs. Nearby (10 minute drive) is Hargus lake, with boat rental and fishing. Also nearby is the Slate Run Historical Farm, (15 minute drive) which is a farm that is fully functioning as a farm from the 1880's with sheep, draft horses, hogs, and poultry at Slate Run Metro park, which has many woodland and wetland trails, as well as a covered bridge and several playgrounds. We are about 35 minutes from the Hocking Hills area, which is one of the most beautiful and unique areas in Ohio.

The whole Viking Longhall property is like stepping into a cute, quirky woodsy fantasy. The unique building design and landscape layout are all charming. The Creekside Cottage was simple, cozy, and well provisioned. David is an excellent host, available and very considerate. I would stay again.

I have wanted to stay at the Longhall since my visit to the Yurt several years ago and finally got my wish! My friends and I stayed at the Longhall for my 30th birthday and it was one of the most memorable birthdays I have ever had. I hope to be back again soon— it is one of my favorite places to go for a getaway from the day to day. Amazing time! Land was beautiful, we could make all the noise we wanted without bothering other campers. Dogs were running free. Stars were beautiful. Bathroom was clean, solar shower was cold but surprisingly nicer than expected! They had all the firewood we needed (which was a lot). We weren’t too far from hiking. We would absolutely camp here again.

Weekend Trip to Benton's on the Baileys

We really enjoyed our stay! The land was beautiful, the spot was private, and we liked having the restrooms down the hill. The two bathrooms were clean and there were showers/towels provided and heaters on, we were surprised at how nice they were. Keith was friendly and carried our stuff up the hill in an ATV even though we had been expecting to do it ourself. The wood is a great deal for $5 and we had a ton of firewood including the deadwood on the ground. We brought our two dogs and it was nice being able to let them run around at the campsite, that was one of the reasons we didn't stay at a standard campground. This place is not too far away from the Hocking Hills trails (about 40 min), and next time we will have to check out the Bailey's trails as they are so convenient to this spot. We didn't have an issues with bugs or wildlife.

Our family stayed in the Juniper trees area at Camp 4. We found this site to be quite private, protected from any wind and it felt like our own space. The grounds are kept quite nice and appreciated the well water access. The homemade goods for purchase were a great little surprise also. The pond and chickens kept our daughter entertained and the nearby hikes in Rocky Fork Gorge we pretty impressive. Loved the no fuss check in and check out. We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm

If you love camping you will live Fruitdale Farm! The campsite was super nice, enough away from others to feel private, and close enough to the bathrooms. We stayed at site 5 and loved it. The little farm stand was really nice, the garden is amazing and we loved the Sunday morning sauna session while it rained outside.. I totally recommend this place and will be back again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our Tribe, Tyr’s Pride Raven Banner, recently held our Winter Nights gathering at the Longhouse in Peebles, Ohio, and it was absolutely incredible. The Longhouse itself is beautiful—you can feel the craftsmanship, care, and spirit that went into creating such a special place. The setting is peaceful and inspiring, surrounded by nature and perfect for both reflection and community. David, the owner, was an outstanding host. His hospitality was unmatched—welcoming, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was memorable. He went above and beyond for us in every way. We stayed for four days and every moment was meaningful. We shared good food, laughter, stories, and ceremony in a space that felt like it was made for such gatherings. Weekend Trip to Birdhouse Farm Camp And Cabin

We loved our stay at the A-Frame. It was more secluded than expected which was nice. It is about 1/4 mile from where you park. Logan will help you haul your stuff in his Gator which was super helpful when we were leaving in the rain. We had a peaceful stay and explored Lake Hope State Park, dined at Pleasant Hill Winery, and enjoyed Jennifer's delicious homemade and locally sourced breakfast burritos.

The cabin is a little small, but it comfortably housed my wife and I. Everything was very clean with all of the amenities that we needed for the weekend. A very nice spot for a weekend retreat for two people. There's also a huge stack of western and war DVDs if you want to check those out!

We loved Fruitdale Farm! The property is well maintained and very peaceful. We enjoyed sitting in the sauna in the evening and enjoyed sitting by the pond with our coffee in the morning. It was a great one night getaway for us!

Fruitdale farm was fantastic. The site (Site 3) was perfectly secluded in a grove, with ample tent space and close to privy and unloading/ loading area. The whole site was just beautiful for kiddos to run around and check out fish in the pond, gardens, chickens, and the trails. We had such a great time and can't wait to go back.

The land was beautiful and well maintained. We stayed one night as a quick stop on a longer trip. Jennifer was very sweet and had the site prepped with water and fire wood for us. the bathroom was clean. The pond was my favorite part.

Full nature experience, beautiful area, hospitable host, close to great hiking trails and Serpent Mound. The Longhall is very cool with lots of awesome bunks for large groups.
