Had a great time! The location was easy to find, the cabin was clean, and communicating with James was clear.

The owners were extremely grateful that we were willing to come stay even during a burn ban. The farm is gorgeous! The river noise blocks out any potential noise from other camp sites. I would absolutely come back and look forward to doing so!

Catherine was great and the property was so cool. Rocks campsite had the river view and sounds I was craving :) Bring hammocks! However, buyer be aware! For riverside campsites like Rocks that were hit badly by hurricane Helene, they are trying to regrow the grass, so no tents/carpets on the grassy areas. That is 90% or more of the flat tent camping space. We found one ok spot for our small (4 person) tent in the pea gravel by the fire pit, so it worked out. But if we had brought a tent that was any larger (like the 6p tent we’ve been eyeballing), or more campers, we would have been out of luck. The other spaces in the pea gravel are not flat, and if you’ve ever slept on a hill you know it is… not great. Maybe they’d have allowed us to switch to another site if we couldn't make it work but I feel you should know (or double check) before you book. Also! Make sure to check for burn bans before you go! Big drought, wildfires in NC, strict burn ban meant that no campfires were had. Check before you go to set your expectations. Still, the amazing spot was worth it for us (2 ppl, 2 dogs). Good times were had and we would come back! And, thanks for the eggs, they were great!

This is our 2nd time camping here. The view was incredible from the hilltop and we love the beautiful farm! Highly recommend.

This place was the perfect weekend retreat. The place felt peaceful and silent—perfect for disconnecting and recharging. There’s a hill right next to the house where you can catch an amazing sunrise and sunset—the view of the Appalachian Mountains turning purple with the sunset light was beautiful. Mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee were my favorite—fresh air, a ton of birds singing, and total calm. At night, the sky was full of stars, perfect for stargazing. The house is really cozy and gives you that feeling of getting back to the basics and simple things of life. The Turkish oven was a fun and different experience for us, and the host, James, along with the people in the community, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back!

This was an amazing camping spot. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Will be back as soon as I can! Property was breathtaking! I can’t put the beauty of this place into words! Go and see for yourself.

This was such a cool spot! The cow was so nice and came up to greet us as soon as we arrived. The cabin is very cozy and has everything you need to cook a meal, including a small electric stovetop (although we ended up cooking with our skillet over the fire). The bed upstairs is incredibly comfortable and we got some of the best sleep we've had in a while. The weather was perfect when we were there, so we didn't need them, but there is a large space heater and window a/c unit if you're cold/hot. Beautiful property nestled in the hills, a really nice drive through winding mountain roads, and great scenery all around. Would love to come back sometime!

We stayed at Hilltop Cabin as our first stop on a week long road trip from Baltimore to Austin. It was so great to stay somewhere peaceful and beautiful after being in the car all day, and our pup could play and stretch her legs! We were even able to duck into Asheville for dinner when we arrived and for breakfast the next morning as we had never been! The bed was super comfy and the cabin had everything we needed to relax before getting back on the road. Our hosts were friendly and i’m sure would have been accommodating should we have needed anything, but the cabin was perfect and we were totally set as is! Our dog and the cow, Kashi, also started a beautiful friendship. Would love to come back one day :-) Thank you!

My wife and I had a great Valentine’s weekend away at the Hilltop Cabin. Beautiful views in multiple directions, right from the front porch. Mastering the wood burning stove for cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner made the experience even more enjoyable. You can always use the hot plate if you prefer… We had rain both days so we spent the whole weekend in the cabin. Felt like home. Comfortable recliner space to read a book upstairs or just sit and listen to the birds. James even went in before us and turned on the heater to warm the place for us. Never had a cold moment. Great spot! Couldn’t recommend more.

What you read doesn't describe the uniquness of the cabin, the scenic view or quietness of this location. This is a great time which I would encourage anyone to visit. They don't get much better than this. James is a wonderful gracious host!

We loved our stay at Raven Ridge!! The cabin was charming and cozy. The Turkish wood stove is such a lovely feature! There is an outhouse steps behind the cabin…it was very clean and well kept. Raven Ridge is adjacent to a wellness retreat which looked very intriguing and we plan to check out on another visit. The location was great….we drove back and forth from mars hill a few times for snow tubing and hiking the Appalachian Trail at Sam’s Gap…it was maybe 20 minutes from the cabin to exit 3, then we made it to Asheville from the cabin in about 30 minutes. The most surprising thing was how warm the cabin was considering it was in the 20s & 30s during our stay!! All from a space heater downstairs!! It shows how well the cabin is built as we have stayed in glamping cabins that are drafty and impossible to keep warm. The hosts were very responsive to messages and checked on us to make sure we settled in and had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying at Raven Ridge!!

This place was so wonderful! Super warm and cozy even in January snow! Lovely to spend a day exploring around the property (the cliffs are beautiful!) and come back to cook a delicious meal. This spot has everything to offer, excited to be back soon!

Weekend Trip to Rooster Ridge Cabin

Incredible, relaxing, welcoming! Already planning my next visit. The Orchard House was equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We slept so well on the quiet property. The wood stove kept us warm, and we even slept with the windows cracked on an mild December night. We loved the tub upstairs, the selection of books in the house, even the nice touch of incense in the outhouse. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and spices needed for a meal. We loved brewing moka pot coffee, sitting on the on the porch and exploring the beautiful cliffs near the cabin. We felt so relaxed, and could definitely feel the love and care put into building the cabin. I can’t wait to come back!

We loved the cabin and hot tub! The cabin was also very well stocked with a few odds and ends in the kitchen like salt and pepper, olive oil, etc. It was so homey and lovely! Thanks to our hosts!!

5 nights at Raven Ridge

My boyfriend, doggies and I enjoyed our Christmas vacation on the hilltop tiny cabin. We were snuggled inside cooking and being warned by the wood burning stove on colder days. But, our sunny ones were spent outside painting, hiking, and staring out into the mountain views.
