Also note that there is a hand washing station outside of the dome next to the port a potty however when temperatures dip into the teens and single digits the water can freeze up in the hand washing station. We do also provide hand sanitizer as a back up. The outdoor shower is only open typically from April through October. In addition, the only form of heat is a wood burning stove with starters and wood provided, so it will be your responsibility to make sure that the stove keeps burning with wood as to keep the dome warm. This most likely will entail getting up at least once a night to stoke/put wood on the fire. On very hot summer days the dome can get very warm inside. We have a high powered fan and black out curtains to help but it still can get very warm. Best to utilize the outdoor space in the late morning/early afternoon hours or use this time to explore the area. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING! Also, there may be some bugs that you see. Especially stink bugs in September and October. We do our best to keep bugs out, yet this is a Glamping experience which is between camping and a typical Airbnb experience so please plan/pack/expect accordingly. Thanks!

All of this just minutes to Main Street in Blowing Rock, NC. One of North Carolina's premier mountain towns. OTHER PROPERTY DETAILS LOCATION: We’re located on a 17 acre tract of land with two domes. Both domes can be booked individually or together (please see my other listings in my profile for availability). My goal is always to maximize privacy and I’ve worked hard to create guest seclusion and minimize visibility from the other dome. With that, the domes are separated by 150 feet but are connected via a staircase that has been built into the mountain. If another couple is staying in the other dome during your stay, it is likely that you may hear them during your stay. Finally, our ideal location and close proximity to Blowing Rock is a direct result of our proximity to NC 321. Guests should be aware that they may hear road noise. STEEP MOUNTAIN DRIVEWAY: Please note that the driveway to the TreePod is a mountain road that is ONLY accessible by AWD or 4x4. If you are not comfortable driving on gravel mountain roads, or do not have a 4x4 or AWD, you’re welcome to park at a dedicated space at the top of the driveway and take a 450’ hike to the dome. WINTER WEATHER: In the event of a winter weather during your stay you will be required to park at the top of the driveway regardless of what type of vehicle you arrive in. This does involve a short 350’ walk from that location to the GeoDome door. In general snow fall is light and usually melts the next day. HEATING/COOLING: The Treepod includes both heating and cooling as well as several space heaters and electric blankets. While we make every attempt to create a comfortable environment the domes are not insulated in the same way your home may be and does not heat and cool like a conventional home or apartment. We’ll provide the heated blankets, please bring plenty of warm clothing in the winter. PARKING: Parking is FREE and on Premises but we are only able to accommodate ONE vehicle during your stay. KITCHEN: During the winter months, the kitchen sink may be closed to prevent freezing pipes. If so, water is accessible in the fully functional and heated bathroom. As always, your welcome to use the grill with the supplied grilling tools for cooking. You’ll also find a French coffee press, water kettle, and coffee/creamer/sugar in the event that the Keurig is not available.

You may wish to interact with our farm menagerie during your stay. We have supplied a self-service animal feed dispenser by the "barnyard" sign, just beside our tiny house. Feel free to come down between 9AM-8PM to give chickens, geese, ducks, and possibly the goats some treats. NO PETS ALLOWED TO BE WITH YOU WHEN YOU FEED THE ANIMALS, please! Feed is available by donation. Note: Only feed the provided treats, do not feed anything else! Please do not exceed two refills per person! Be aware that animals can bite, kick, scratch, bonk, and poo. You are your own responsibility when interacting with the animals! ----CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS---- -Drive up to our farm gate and TAKE THE GUEST FOLDER from the box, clearly marked. Don't mind the barking of our big white livestock guardian dogs from within the nearby pastures, they are just doing their job. Open the gate and CLOSE IT behind you, please :) -Follow driveway up to the top of the hill. Please do not allow any pets out of your vehicle down at our farmyard. Be careful as you pass through this area as we do have children and livestock possibly crossing the road. -Park wherever you feel your vehicle can best manage the sloped driveway. -Open the dome's zipper door and let it air out. Follow the guest folder's instructions for further climate control needs. There will be most of the information you need in the guest folder, as well as in pamphlets and notes around the site. You can also contact us at any time, but the WIFI is sometimes spotty, so it may be necessary to come knock on our door for additional inquiries. (Don't be shy! All of this just minutes to Main Street in Blowing Rock, NC. One of North Carolina's premier mountain towns. OTHER PROPERTY DETAILS LOCATION: We’re located on a 17 acre tract of land with two domes. Both domes can be booked individually or together (please see my other listings in my profile for availability). My goal is always to maximize privacy and I’ve worked hard to create guest seclusion and minimize visibility from the other dome. With that, the domes are separated by 150 feet but are connected via a staircase that has been built into the mountain. If another couple is staying in the other dome during your stay, it is likely that you may hear them during your stay. Finally, our ideal location and close proximity to Blowing Rock is a direct result of our proximity to NC 321. Guests should be aware that they may hear road noise. STEEP MOUNTAIN DRIVEWAY: Please note that the driveway to the TreePod is a mountain road that is ONLY accessible by AWD or 4x4. If you are not comfortable driving on gravel mountain roads, or do not have a 4x4 or AWD, you’re welcome to park at a dedicated space at the top of the driveway and take a 450’ hike to the dome. WINTER WEATHER: In the event of a winter weather during your stay you will be required to park at the top of the driveway regardless of what type of vehicle you arrive in. This does involve a short 350’ walk from that location to the GeoDome door. In general snow fall is light and usually melts the next day. HEATING/COOLING: The Treepod includes both heating and cooling as well as several space heaters and electric blankets. While we make every attempt to create a comfortable environment the domes are not insulated in the same way your home may be and does not heat and cool like a conventional home or apartment. We’ll provide the heated blankets, please bring plenty of warm clothing in the winter. PARKING: Parking is FREE and on Premises but we are only able to accommodate ONE vehicle during your stay. KITCHEN: During the winter months, the kitchen sink may be closed to prevent freezing pipes. If so, water is accessible in the fully functional and heated bathroom. As always, your welcome to use the grill with the supplied grilling tools for cooking. You’ll also find a French coffee press, water kettle, and coffee/creamer/sugar in the event that the Keurig is not available.

Weekend Trip to Blue Bear Mountain Camp

This is one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. Mike was a great host, very friendly and easy to talk to. The bathhouse gets 5 stars from us. Heated water as well as heated room. We stayed in Dome #3 and it was clean and comfortable. The heated blanket was a very helpful for our cold evenings. We stayed 11/7-11/9 and have already started planning another trip to try the backpack sites. It is a beautiful property.

We spent Halloween weekend at Jeremy and Terra's mountaintop glamper and it was incredible! The mountain views were stunning everyday, even with the rain our first day and the privacy was outstanding! Close enough to town if you need anything and far enough away to be and feel secluded. The glamper was perfect and cozy and I loved sitting in bed and enjoying what I called "nature's TV" out the front of the glamper. We could not have had or asked for a better experience in what was our first vacation in 2 years. Even our German Shepherd had a wonderful time. Jeremy and Terra are outstanding hosts, made us feel at home, and checked in with us in the morning to make sure we had everything we needed! They made sure the glamper was stocked and clean! We highly recommend staying with them and we will most definitely be going back! One caution, if going while raining or during the winter months, you definitely want a 4WD or AWD as the gravel up to the mountain is a little steep and can be a little difficult with any kind of precipitation. Our little Nissan Versa stick-shift wasn't happy about the climb lol.

We had a wonderful stay at the Compass Rose! Temps were down in the 30s but we stayed toasty warm with the propane heater and were very comfortable. The doggies were very sweet and well behaved and Eva was a kind and gracious host. 10/10 would recommend!

They really thought about all of the small detail details (fresh flowers, umbrella, extra sleeping bags, cookware, spices, coals and lighter fluid for grill, shampoo and conditioner in the amazing outdoor shower…) and made this experience great. The view is unparalleled. Phenomenal stargazing. The inside is so cute and the wood-burning stove was great to have on the chilly night. Would have loved to spent more time there.

Weekend Trip to Blue Bear Mountain Camp

We absolutely LOVED this place! We were worried when we were booking relatively late and had a hard time finding quality spots, then came across this place. It was AMAZING. We rented both a yurt and a tent site for 4 adults, 6 kids, and 1 dog. There was plenty of room for the kids to run around and play soccer or throw frisbee. We had big fires at night around the campfire. My wife and the other mom just LOVED their yurts (though the kids weren't as impressed when they found out they were sleeping in a tent, ha). Bathrooms were close and clean, and there was a sink to wash dishes. I also loved how though there were other campers there, we didn't feel "on top" of them and had plenty of room. Our dog was welcomed and we had a blast. Plus, we were only like 15 minutes from Boone. There's also lots of trails to explore and 150 acres, we when we (not if we) come back, we'll have a lot more exploring to do! We have written this place down as a favorite and will FOR SURE be coming back again.
