My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

We are within walking distance to Lake Tillary and less than 5 mins to the boat landing. You may bring your boat and park it here while you camp. SPECIAL NOTE: There are animals here that you may pet once you have been properly introduced. You may bring your pets as long as they are vaccinated and behaved. If they fight with other animals or chase chickens or ducks you may want to test this upon your arrival. Unfortunately, you must keep them on leash at all times. Our County does have a leash law, and should property🌱🌹🌻🚜🚗📬🗑or animals🦌🐂🐏🐐🐰🦃🦆 be damaged or harmed you will be held responsible. For example, if your dog kills a chicken, you buy the chicken🐓🐔🐥. Absolutley NO smoking or fire near the barn. It is over 100 years old and built by my great grand family and is irreplaceable. SPECIAL FEATURE: As I am just beginning the camp on site experience I offer several options and additional services. #1. Some find out after arriving that I teach NC Concealed Carry Handgun Classes. If you wish to participate in a class, it is preferred that you register before the day of the class. I will post classes on this site so that campers will know there will be shooting in the late afternoon. Some chose to camp on other weekends, some choose to go out to eat during those times, and some don't mind either way. #2. I am also much in favor of work for camp site. Some have asked to do clean up or other small jobs for the priviledge to camp. So far this has worked out well, with one exception. Please do not accept an offer to take on a task that you do not know how to do. Example, pulling weeds or trimming if you do not know what a weed verses flower looks like. LOL #3. There is plenty of firewood, see photos, here laying around and some trees down that will make great firewood (bring your own cutting tools.) We also sell firewood by the bundle. #4. Being a camper here gives you the privilege of fresh veggies and fruits that are in season, as well as fresh free range eggs. MAJOR POINT: You must remember this is a working farm and our duties and responsibilities for the farm come first. You must abide by the boundaries. *see map* The creek is the back boundary and should never be crossed onto my neighbors. I will not tolerate any disrespect to my neighbors, what so ever. No! the roosters don't have an off button, neither does the jacka... donkey! When it is hay cutting time, we will cut hay. If you want to hike the property, feel free, know the boundaries and bring a machete to cut your way by the creek/stream in some areas. We have thistle trees and briars, you are welcome to cut all you wish as you go. There are spiders, bugs, and snakes etc. Black snakes, king snakes, runners, and whip snakes belong here and we ask that you do not kill them. Copperheads are here as qell and if you see one, come get me and I will dispatch it for you. .

There was enough space for large tents and several hammocks. We caught several different fish. There is a small charcoal grill and a nice fire pit, swing, and picnic table. The privacy is nice, and it’s not a bad walk with your gear especially with a wagon. We are so grateful to this space so close to home and can’t wait to get back out there. Thank you for sharing such a lovely space.

The property was really a great location for our group that were overall new to camping with amenities nearby to pickup groceries or go to a diner when needed! We really enjoyed taking turns on the row boat, and playing card games and monopoly in the cabin area at night. The campsite felt really private, but there was some barking from dogs nearby at night, and sometimes gunshots. Alex, the owner, was very responsive and helpful in finding local activities and resolving any issues we had during the stay!

Had a very chill and relaxing time! Jeff was there to greet us and his wife gave us a tour! I’m in love with their Great Pyrenees. They had excellent hospitality and equally gave us our space. We had a huge fire in their pit and felt right at home!

I enjoyed this site so much! From the soft bedding and heated mattress pad, to the coffee and firewood, this place has everything you need to get away while keeping comfortable. I especially loved the sound of the leaves falling on the tent as I was winding down. Truly such a gem!

We had a great time staying here! Bill had put a lot of care into this site and it shows. The location was great for visiting friends in Cornelius. We also went to the Ren faire and no exaggeration, this is the best camping for the Carolina Ren Fair that you could possibly find. The drive is four minutes straight down the road and nothing beats coming back to a campfire after a day at the festival. I travel in a 22' travel trailer and backing in was no problem, the plot is nice and wide at the entrance. It is a beautifully shaded site which is great for keeping the trailer cool on hot days.
