Only 1 hour from Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Greensboro, yet feels like a world away. 30 minutes from the North Carolina Zoo and the Carolina Treetop Challenge at Rock Creek Park. Minutes from Historic Gold Hill, Tuckertown Reservoir, Uwharrie National Forest and Badin Lake. Tents only please; as the road to the campsite is narrow and. AWD or 4WD may be required during wet weather. Cars that are low to the ground are not recommended. We have table and 2 bench seats, fire pit, water, trash bin, toilet, a canoe and noodles to use in pond at the pond site. Take the opportunity to stay in a one of a kind Farm Store loft on a real working farm. Crossings is a true market farm that has been in our family for over 11 generations. While the main focus of Crossings is always to be a community farm, we love opening our home and farm to respectful visitors. The loft is over our farm store and accessed by a curved staircase (no door between) . The farm setting offers a comfy spot for someone looking for a quiet spot to relax and rest after a day exploring out and about. The cozy space it perfect for 2 people who are looking for a unique spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of their normal lives. The farm store space on the first floor is a public area that is frequented by our regular customers during the day, especially on Saturdays. We allow our Airbnb guests to lock the farm store from 6pm to 9am each night for ultimate privacy and enjoyment of the space. There is a bistro table can that be used for picking up take-out or a simple meal cooked on the wood stove or outdoor grill. The back porch is a perfect spot to enjoy a nice rock in our Troutman Co. rocking chairs while listening to the farm sounds and seeing our crew gather eggs, move the cows, or re-stock the Farm Store. Not in the mood to hike into a spot? You can pull straight into the driveway and park to the left of the farm store. Other things to note **Please note that you are staying on a working family farm. There are multiple farm animals (chickens, pigs, cows, horses, farm dogs and cats) that are in close proximity to the Farm Store. We ask that you maintain and do not go into the fenced areas, greenhouses or our barns for biosecurity. We also ask that you not feed the animals, even though they may come up to the fence. *We do have farm workers (including ourselves) who are in and round the farm all day feeding animals, tending to the garden areas, filling orders and re-stocking the farm store. All of our team will maintain social distancing, but feel free to ask any questions of them while you are here. *Saturdays are our "busier" days on the farm. Our Farm Store is "open" and staffed that day for our regular customer needs. We are normally cutting wood, moving animals, fixing fence, building structures, re-stocking the farm store, mowing and weed eating. *If you have any concerns around our Farm Loft stay, please reach out to us prior to booking so that we can answer any questions with transparency. My husband and I stayed at Christina’s place after an intense work, and it was exactly what we needed—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful nature. We booked the Deluxe Tent Site with the 12x12 deck because I wanted space to organize my work materials and reset after our hectic schedule. The deck was spotless and perfect for that, and the bathroom was also super clean and comfortable to use. We really enjoyed making a fire and cooking meals outside—it was such a relaxing way to spend the evenings. Even our cat had a great time exploring and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere! Christina and her husband were incredibly kind and welcoming, and their land is absolutely stunning. We ended up extending our stay an extra night just to enjoy it longer. The view from the hill was breathtaking. We’d definitely love to come back when we’re driving through again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a restful and beautiful camping experience.

My mother, sister and niece (7 yrs old) absolutely loved this place for my nieces first camping trip. They have gone above and beyond to make a beautiful place to stay and to make you feel right at home. I suggest using the wood, charcoal and ice they provide at a low cost. It just makes easier for yourself and they will deliver it right to you. We loved it so much we already booked the cabin for fall camping in October. We cannot wait to escape the heat of the coast in early October and enjoy the fall at The Dancing Pig.

Tina and Joe were very nice! The property is beautiful, but remote! There is electricity and water, as well as very nice bathrooms, but if you're looking for a place that's quick to get in and out of, you may need to look elsewhere. The quiet nights were gorgeous and relaxing. I hadn't been camping in a long time, so there were things I didn't think about, but the location is close enough to Wilkesboro that I could pick those things up at the local DG or Walmart.

Our stay was amazing. Came in for just one night for a concert we have been looking forward to. Elizabeth was fantastic and communicated well. Her place was tucked off the beaten path but so perfect. We loved staying in the little cabin! Peaceful and relaxing property with farm animals. My son and I had a great time kayaking, cooking outdoors and sitting by the fire at night. Definitely would plan another trip back! Darrel and Natalie were great hosts!

We really enjoyed this spot along with our dogs 🐕 Our one dog especially enjoyed the pond for fetching sticks! The canoe was a fun touch and we enjoyed some laps around the pond trying to spot the koi fish. The owls were hootin and hollerin throughout the day and night which was really cool 🦉 We also heard some turkeys our first night and the next morning.

We had an amazing time! Location is convenient to hikes and winston-salem. We spent our days doing hikes and returned for a campfire. Having the amenities after the hike was very nice. The host Chelsea was awesome and very responsive. The egg and sour dough add on was a cool touch too. Both were gone by the time we left.

Less than a five minute drive to the grocery store, and less than a fifteen minute drive to uptown Lexington. Public access for kayaks is less than half a mile away. And the view is unbelievable! We have a corn hole board and bags now available for use, as well as a few other yard games. Please let us know if you are interested in using them. In 2024, we introduced our private Shower House, featuring three fully equipped bathrooms with showers, sinks, and toilets, plus heating and air conditioning. Before the Kerr Scott Reservoir was built, in the 40's and 50's, this neighborhood was a local swimming hole and vacation area. Public buses came from neighboring communities so people could boat, swim, camp, and picnic. While we don't have access to the pond, our part of this land still is calling out to people, 'Come, rest, unload your burdens, and find peace.' When we started this project with Hipcamp, we didn't fully realize that we were reconnecting with the history on this property. So, come, take your shoes off, and wade in the creek. Read a book while laying in a hammock. Sit by the fire and chat with family and friends. Come and participate in our little homesteading project, and leave your burdens behind. LOCAL ACTIVITIES: To the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is 30 minutes away. 15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, as well as other sporting equipment. Fish, go mountain biking on the extensive trails, and hiking. Prayer Mountain is right up the road, about 2 miles away. Heading east, you can find several fine wineries andvineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town. About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public. To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. Nearby, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can go and find, and keep, precious stones you find in the nearby river. There is also a great disk course course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country. There is fun for all ages. Merlefest, the last weekend of April, is a world class Bluegrass festival, is located right in our town. Be sure to look at the activities section below for additional information.
