Weekend Trip to Roan Mountain Glamping

Super quick, easy check in. We had been camping prior and with storms rolling in decided to upgrade to a roof and glad we did! So comfy and peaceful to wait out a storm and rain in for an evening. Slept great, clean and tidy! Private!

2 nights at Maggie Valley Yurts and Cabins

I enjoyed staying in this Yurt! It was clean and felt luxurious. The people who lived in the area were quiet. At night I loved hearing the rushing water and frogs from my porch area. I felt safe here and there is a lock on the front door of the Yurt. If you need internet for work or school this may be a issue. I was unable to connect and my phone service with AT&T was spotty. I enjoyed my stay and would do it again.

Weekend Trip to Roan Mountain Glamping

David’s yurt was clean, smelled amazing, and truly is a mountain oasis. The shower and bathroom combo is nice and the batteries he had available were perfect for our simple needs (charging our phones). We loved having the creek close by, the Rhododendrons bloomed, and the option to have fresh eggs and tomatoes. David checked in throughout our stay to ensure we were well taken care of while still giving us privacy.

This was wonderful. Private, quiet, and comfortable. They've added all sorts of thoughtful touches, such as binoculars and a cooler with ice, to help you enjoy your stay. We didn't shower or cook only because out stay was so brief. My first time glamping rather than camping, and it was great!

I recently stayed at Geri’s Creekside Yurt, it was such a magical experience. The yurt was super private and secluded, with the creek just about 20 feet away. The walkway to the yurt was also really accessible, almost stroller-friendly, compared to other areas that had more steps. Inside, they provided both a fan and heating, making it comfortable no matter the weather. There were also plenty of board games, books, and other games for entertainment. They had so much thought into all of the essentials provided we almost felt we overpacked! The attention to detail was amazing. Everything was thoughtfully labeled, making it easy to find your way around. Even the outhouse, which I was initially worried about, turned out to be no issue at all. The interior design was also so warming and beautiful to enjoy, even the linens and towels were thoughtfully chosen. Overall, it’s clear that so much thought and care went into creating this peaceful space, highly recommend this beautiful retreat :)

1 night at Triple J Farm and Campground

We LOVED camping here ! We are not campers by sport and are in no way, experts but this was amazing. The property is sooo cute ! We went on a walk and picked a basketful of blackberries 🥰 The goats provided everything we needed to be comfy, the yurt area was perfect for our small family. The creek, swing, grill, and all. We loved it ! A really bad thunderstorm hit the night we stayed and we hunkered down and made it through. It was an experience we will NEVER forget and can't wait to visit again. Our kids loved them panning in the creek, and the shower - the outdoor shower was the favorite lol

Weekend Trip to Outercamp, Blue Ridge Falls Retreat

The yurt was awesome! Cozy and comfy, with a beautiful large deck surrounded by trees and bird song. We felt like we were sleeping in a treehouse in Costa Rica! The kitchen was well stocked and we loved that it was outdoors. We did see 3 bears while we were there, but they were not at all concerned with us. When we said “hey bear” to them they sauntered off in the other direction. Hoot Owl falls was lovely as well!

2 nights at Yurt At Lake James And Fonta Flora

Neat spot ! Great location- Glamp away ! We got a super rainy weekend and the Yurt was a warm, dry, spacious and sturdy shelter! My 6 yr old loved it. Despite rain, we had great campfires w/ complimentary firewood. It was fun to sit on the dock and listen to the bullfrogs. The bed is super comfortable and the freshly laundered bedding smelled wonderful. You do need to be prepared to hike about 1/10 of a mile to the campsite from the parking space. I put our cooler in my wagon and then we cheated and brought our e-bike w trailer to haul the gear out (it’s uphill on the way out.) We visited Fonta Flora Brewery nearby and accessed Lake James at the Linville boat ramp. It was great!

2 nights at Outercamp, Blue Ridge Falls Retreat

I typically tent camp in more rustic settings, but this time around we splurged for my son's birthday and I was pleasantly surprised. The Wild Fairies Yurt was really nice! Beautiful setup with 2 comfy beds, a propane grill with a table and sink nearby, a solar generator with outdoor and indoor lights, and even a shower down the pathway. It was wild how we were only a few minute drive from Walmart, but it felt completely secluded. I definitely recommend this place and my son wants to come back and do it again, so I give this place an A+ rating. Book it today!

“The Gnome Home Getaway” Surprised? That’s putting it lightly. To celebrate 24 years of wedding bliss, I kidnapped my wife for a secret getaway. She had no idea where we were going—just along for the ride with a suspicious side-eye and a trusting heart. Everything was going smoothly…until we got to the gate. After a minor detour (aka struggling to open the gate), we were finally on our way—creeping down a winding mountain gravel road. With every twist and turn, the questions started flying. “Where are we?” “Where are we going?” “Are you serious right now?” And then—we saw them. Fairy lights. I shouted, “This is it, babe! The Gnome Home!” Her reaction? Let’s just say… she was not yet enchanted. “It’s dark!” “Are those fairy lights or fireflies?” “I think this is the right one,” I added confidently. “The right what???” The fairy lights had faded and we couldn’t see a thing down the trail. With only our phone lights guiding us, we ventured ahead. That’s when she saw it. “Outhouse. RAIN SHOWER?! Are you serious??” Let’s just say the shock was real. But once she got past it, everything turned magical. Well—except for Scram, the giant mouse who had made the grill his summer home. (She only laughed after jumping off the bed.) But despite the rustic quirks and unexpected visitors, we had a blast. We laughed until our sides hurt. We made memories we’ll never forget. We lived the adventure—together. Weekend Trip to Yurt At Lake James And Fonta Flora

We did an instant book and even though Brianna was out of town and had little service, she went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. It is such a beautiful spot and I definitely recommend getting the kayak or paddle board rental. The lake is gorgeous! Very dog friendly as well, would recommend bringing your pup along. So much to do in the area!

It's been a week since my stay at Wild Fairies, and I've thought about it every day. It was exactly the peaceful break I needed after a hectic few weeks. Truly a serene place to get away and spend some quiet time with nature. I even saw a bear just past the shower! Plus a few turkey and plenty of birds enjoying the Spring weather. The yurt was just gorgeous. Everything I could've possibly needed was provided. I was kicking myself for leaving my binoculars at home, but there was even a pair in one of the drawers! The bed was comfortable after a day out on the trails, and the outdoor kitchen area was perfect for cooking up meals to enjoy on the porch. Thank you, Evan, for making and sharing such a lovely place!
